Harry Shaw holiday:AVOID!
Please avoid booking a holiday with this company. Was advised to buy to excursions as they were described at time of booking as “essential “ and then found out that they were non existent trips as I had to find my own transport to and from the place we were supposed to visit. Got my Lenovo tablet stolen as we were advised to leave our luggage’s on board on our last night at the hotel. Also all the way there and back we had to get our food from service stations on the way as the hotel’s restaurants seems to either be closed or not equipped for all of us. Dreadful holiday and a huge waste of money. Mede a formal complaint to the Company on fifth of October and still no reply☹️
Well, just to update my review, I have finally today received a non-apologies letter from Harry Shaw’s Customer support manager,Mrs Tracy Scrivens,in which she pointed out how as nobody else did complained, clearly we were in the wrong for raising any issues. Her letter was very patronising ending in the insulting offer “as a good will gesture “of a £30 voucher to spend within the next twelve months on a holiday with them. So please if you think of a coach holiday, explore all the other companies and travel operators as you will definitely get a far better quality and value for money. Thanks for reading my review.
We went to Krakow in August with Harry …
We went to Krakow in August with Harry Shaw a company that we have travelled with before and I would like to add my comments to the previous review. Never had a reason to complain before but this trip was so appalling poor that we couldn't face the journey home on the coach and decided to fly home.
The coach was so inadequate for such a long jouney with no cup holders, no airplane tables, no Foot rests we couldn't even put our bags in the overhead rack because it was too small. To top it all we had no hostess on what turned out to be over 30 hours on the coach only stopping at garages for a break with no where to get food or sit. On boarding the coach we were told we could only use the toilet for urinating and there was no running water to wash hands. We complained to the company only to get a token £100 off our next trip. Harry shaw absolutely ruined our trip top Poland with poor planning and using a school bus instead of a coach and there is no way we will travel with them ever again. RIP Harry Shaw
KRACOW guinea pigs?
Went to Kracow and usually enjoy coach trips but not this time. Left at 4.15 and arrived at German stopover Hotel at 9.30. Very poor stops on way and no real time for a meal provided after ferry. Coach was OK but mainly for school pickups so no drop day drink trays or foot rests. No drinks on Coach, despite 2 drivers, neither of whom had done this before and provided limited commentary. Another long drive on second day.
Trips were OK but Aushwitz was like being herded and no stops for a drink or toilet in 3 hour tour on a very hot day.
You could tell that we were guinea pigs for this tour!
Long return journeys with 4am start on second day. As a result my feet swelled considerably and this has never happened before
I have vowed to never go on another coach trip!
Just come back from krakow had a…
Just come back from krakow had a wonderful week there ,beautiful weather helped, the krakow hotel was goodish the german stop over was not so good. The bus although new was not comfortable more like a school bus ,i personally thought the two drivers Rob (sugar tits)and his mate were brilliant ,and a credit to Harry Shaw ,a good crowd in general made new friends i Jam&Deb whom made the trip memorable and we enjoyed all 3 excursions.

Me and my daughter have just spent 4 nights on a mystery holiday. Had a brilliant time. Went to Bournemouth with also two trips included. One was swanage a beautiful place and also went into Poole and a boat trip was included but we didn’t do that as my daughter gets motion sickness and the second trip was Weymouth. The hotel was lovely. We stayed in the Carrington House Hotel, staff was really nice and the food was great. I met lots of lovely people on our coach everyone was very friendly and most of all we had the best coach driver called Chris and he even worked on his birthday. Very friendly man , went out all the way to make our holiday fab!! Thankyou Chris. Will definitely be booking again.
Dispointed
My husbund booked a mystery seaside tour for us both only to be told by the driver where we were going before setting off we were disappointed it even had a sign on the front of the coach where we were going A mystery is a mystery for a reason if we had wanted to pick our own day trip to a paticular seaside we would have booked it but we booked a mystery one so disgusted and disappointed 😞 The day was good but that's not point
Amazing London Eye Day Trip
The coach trip to the London Eye was very efficient as other passengers going to other places within London like the winter wonderland were on the same coach.
We arrived in London just after 11AM. We had plenty of time to visit the London Eye at the specified time booked. After visiting the London Eye to experience the amazing views of London, we had plenty of time to visit other places.
A big thank you to Robert, the coach driver for a smooth drive to and from London and keeping us updated throughout the journeys.
He went the extra mile by helping passengers find their London pick-up point.
Harry discriminates
The company has a no doubt lucrative contract with Reaseheath College in Nantwich, Cheshire, a daily round trip for students to attend the college and return home each evening.
Reaseheath College prides itself on being an all inclusive learning facility so is an excellent resource considering it's geared up very well for this.
Their approach to disability is extremely good but not all disabilities are visible. For some it's a wheelchair or white stick, for others it's a guide dog and for others it's an assistance dog. This is where Harry seems to fall flatly on his face, discriminating against a student who for no fault of their own requires one of these "tools". The student has an assistance dog, the same one as last year, no different, exactly the same amount of risk for their assessment as last year when they were allowed on the bus, the only difference is this year Harry got himself a nice brand new fleet of busses.
The student has paid for the privilege of being told they're not allowed on the bus but has not been offered a refund. Thanks Harry you're causing lots of problems and distress for one student and their family, friends and college staff.
The trip was to valkenburg was lovely
The trip was to valkenburg was lovely, the driver (Robert) was friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much for him.
Wasted Birthday!
My partner booked a day trip with Harry Shaw for my birthday to spend the day at Trentham Monkey Forest, after arriving there at 11.30 we were told we had 3 hours before needing to be back on the coach by 2.30 so we could stop at Trentham Shopping Park until 4pm. Nowhere on the booking did it mention this stop, nor that our day trip would be cut short because of it, so instead of enjoying my time at the Monkey Forest, I'm now stranded in Trentham with nothing to do until 4pm because of Harry Shaw. If I'd known this was on the itinerary I would have gone with another company. Very disappointing having to end a visit to somethind we wanted to do early because of some boujey shopping village.

My friend and I had a lovely day out in Chester recently. Our driver Craig was very friendly and helpful. Will certainly travel with Harry Shaw in the future.
Monet’s Garden - Paris
Four of us have just enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights away staying at the Forest Hill Hotel, Muon, Paris. The hotel was excellent - spotlessly clean everywhere, fantastic steaks, friendly and efficient staff, small but very comfortable room and bed, and finally a pool area that made us feel like we could have been in a coastal resort!
And the very best part of our tour….our DRIVER RUSSELL! We travel at least 12 assorted tours with different companies each year and I can honestly say that Russell is, in my opinion, the most incredibly smooth and relaxing driver I’ve ever travelled with!
Our coach was a little cramped, but that was the only downside to the whole of the long weekend. So thank you Harry Shaw, this was our first tour in many years with you, but we will definitely be joining you again.
Tried to book but got ghosted…
I tried booking a coach holiday for 3 people through the website but, because i live in the states, i couldn't complete the order because of the way it's set up. (There was no field to enter the state and then when i tried using my credit card, it didnt work because there was no state). So i reached out via email. A while later, i got a response that they could book it for me if i gave them all the info. So i did. I never heard back again. I sent another email to follow up. But got no response. Apparently, they don't really want "outsiders" booking with them. Quite frustrating. I've booked other coach holidays and excursions with other companies without any problem.
The day was pleasant
The day was pleasant our only problem was that we found the coach seats uncomfortable. The driver coped well with the fact there’s was no spaces left in Bakewell for it to park unfortunately Monday is a very busy day.
Lake District Weekend
A great weekend to the Lake District.
Lake Windermere on the Sunday was especially nice.
Good hotel, great helpful staff!
Our driver (Dale) was excellent throughout the trip.
We will definitely use Harry Shaw again in the future.

Just come back from my first coach trip
Just come back from my first coach holiday.
Our coach was clean and comfy and our driver Craig was very friendly
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL .
I have used Harry Shaw for about 15 years , not 1 problem at all . Many trips to Germany all good .
Joke of a company
Joke of a company. Have only left one star because leaving zero wasn’t an option. We went to Manchester Xmas markets with Harry Shaw and there were mechanical problems with the coach which started at the beginning of the day. Somehow we made it the 80+ miles to Manchester but whilst passengers were away from the coach it finally gave up the ghost. Nearly 50 passengers, mainly pensioners were left for two and a half hours in below zero temperatures for this to be rectified. Two complaints have been sent to the company- all ignored however, a Facebook post stating this was removed within 20 minutes. The company should be ashamed of themselves. If you listen carefully you can hear the now deceased Harry rolling in his grave.
Christmas show
Just come back from Thursford Christmas show.
It was fantastic.hotel great .
