Not advisable to rent from

Privacy concerns discarded on house visits for future tenants, deposit refund requires TDS to be involved, was an OK start not so well ending for our tenancy of 1.5 years. Cannot recommend for any tenants, just to put some perspective, we had to order our own parking permit from the site as their firewall does not allow for them to order, also on our previous end of tenancy, everything was sorted on the check out day and has no issues now it's dragged and have to involve third parties..

With regards to the cleaning charge, this was outlined in your tenancy agreement and reflects the property’s condition at the end of your tenancy; as you have contested it, the case has been submitted to an independent adjudicator. Regarding the parking permit, we advised it was with the concierge, but when we didn’t hear back, we contacted the landlord to purchase another; unfortunately, as they were overseas, the online payment could not be completed, which we understand was frustrating. Concerning your privacy concerns, an error was acknowledged, and an apology was made.

Great experience

My last two tenancies are from Haslams and both letting process were supported by Katie. She is helpful , always responsive and professional. Everything went smoothly.

A Great Impression.

My sister and I went to do some viewing on the 15th October and Laura was amazing. Professional, friendly and very informative. A great representation of the company. I would definitely recommend Haslam to anyone moving in the Reading and surrounding area.

I’ve personally worked in lettings

I’ve personally worked in lettings, Laura is an absolute lovely negotiator. Couldn’t recommend her more. Katie has also been great & so has Isobel. We haven’t moved into the property yet so will wait to see what the inventory holds up like, for anyone moving, please ensure you take photos of anything on the day you move in & document it to your PM. Great dealings so far.

Haslams sales team gave me total grief…

Haslams sales team gave me total grief by way of threats if i did not complete deal to purchase a property within a certain time which was out of my control due to my purchaser holding things up.

The FCA would come down on them like a ton of bricks in any other business.

My 80 year old mother recently sold her…

My 80 year old mother recently sold her house with Haslams and purchased privately. The sales experience was first class, from creating a beautiful brochure, viewings were conducted with such professionalism and quickly secured a buyer.
Lee Martin sales progressor was superb, keeping my mother and I updated all the way. She is a very happy lady settled in to her new home.

Tina Makes All the Difference at Haslams

Tina is an exceptional team member at Haslams and has been a pleasure to deal with for over a decade. She's consistently warm, respectful, and incredibly helpful, her approach truly reflects her own professionalism and care. It's always a positive experience when Tina is involved, and she’s a big reason why working with Haslams has been so smooth over the years.

Tenancy Renewing

I have just gone through the process of renewing a tenancy agreement for the property I rent - it was a little non standard as I have restrictions around dates and when the tenancy needs to end - Katie Wild was great - she proposed numerous options all of which I was happy with so these were then presented to the Tenants and we have agreed an approach that is hopefully beneficial to all parties - Katie made the whole process swift and simple

Renewal Agreement

Worst Experience with Haslams

I chose Haslams seeming they’re good agents in Reading, UK—but my experience was the worst I’ve ever had.

Before move-in they promised the property would be “professionally cleaned,” yet we arrived to a dirty toilet, broken door locks, and stains on the bedroom carpet. When we complained, we were told, “It’s professionally cleaned just live with it until you move out.” Living in that condition was unacceptable.

The management was equally terrible. Every repair request dragged on for weeks. On move-out day they even tried to blame us for a broken front-door lock on exit inventory—luckily we’d taken photos and videos before leaving to prove otherwise. Despite the landlord agreeing there should be no deductions, Haslams then deliberately delayed our deposit refund. Under TDS rules it should have been returned within 10 days, but it took them weeks.

I strongly advise anyone considering Haslams to think twice. Their promises are empty, their service is appalling, and they’ll hold onto your deposit for as long as they can and try to deduct.

Excellent service as always

I'm a landlord and I've been using Haslams for many years, the service and advice has always been first-class. Recently, I was due a refund from Reading Council for council tax, having spent over an hour and a half trying to resolve the situation I gave up and contacted Tina C at Haslams, she was very professional and friendly and I'm pleased to say she the issue was resolved promptly. Excellent service!
