Funny to read all these fake positive…

Funny to read all these fake positive reviews. This guy has been scamming his customers and apparently his employees as well. Do your research, stay away if you value your time and money. Do not do business with this scammer!

Scam

Scam! Jay promised us work, we paid close to $900 to him. After 6+ months of nothing, we were then promised a full refund, which also never happened. Refuses to respond to emails and blocks on social media.

If there was a zero stars

If there was a zero stars, I would have selected that. The concept and perceived passion had me fooled. We are out thousands of dollars. Did videography work for Jay, he collected payment from people but never paid his trades or produced a magazine.

Kim I only owe Dexter $1600+, I have also partially paid. I even met with him a few months ago for a settlement. Please, we are trying to rebuild.

Stay away from this company and its…

Stay away from this company and its owner Jay Larracas. It's the same modus operandi for both employees/contractors and clients. No payment and no service. Just excuses and false promises. Avoid at all costs. He owes me $2,400 of wages and it's been more than 18 months.

Edit: He hasn't paid me shit. Don't trust his words. The company is in the Unsatisfied Judgments list for almost 2 years.

Jay over at Hatchup Magazine does not…

Jay over at Hatchup Magazine does not deliver on his services. We were charged for a photo shoot and magazine publication but it was never delivered on. It's been about 18 Month now Jan 2023 and we just haven't seen anything. He seems like a legitimate business and we even did get our photoshoot and a draft of our article but an edition never came out. It's unfortunate because the examples he has and the first publication he did was beautiful but it seems there is just some problems and he is not able to deliver.

This seems to be a scam

This seems to be a scam. We paid for services, they even interviewed us, and now are 3 months overdue on the article, as well as non-responsive to emails.

Unprofessional

Unprofessional, scheduled a photo shoot with them, got my staff all together (no small feat) and then hatchup didn’t show up. I think they forgot. Promised to reimburse us for the amount we paid up front (just under 1000), countless emails saying they would pay us back, but it never happened, that was 18 months ago. Very negative experience.

Hi Michele, $850 will be reimbursed to you and is already on my list of payables. I really sincerely apologize for the experience, you don't deserve this.

Who else is a victim of Jay Laraccas

Who else is a victim of Jay Laraccas of hatchupmagazine.com? I worked on a web development project with him, and he still hasn't paid me 2,000 CAD. In addition, there are three designers he hasn't paid, totaling around 3,052.23 CAD, and one writer who also hasn't been paid, approximately 480 CAD. It's been almost 10 months now, and he told me that he would send the payment to my account, but seven months have passed, and he still hasn't paid me. His office is located in SW Calgary, Alberta.

Dear Erwin,

I am reaching out regarding recent actions that have had a direct impact on my business, HatchUp. It has come to my attention that you have been contacting my clients and created this TrustPilot review that I consider defamatory. Additionally, I understand that you have used our design work with this client, which we originally developed for HatchUp.

As you know, we had a working relationship last year. Although there is an outstanding balance of $2,000, you were already compensated $1,000 for unfinished websites. I am more than willing to work toward a fair settlement with you, but I request that you immediately cease contacting my clients and remove your TrustPilot post, which is harming our business’s reputation.

Please also be aware that I have evidence that you were working on HatchUp projects while at your school facility, potentially impacting your responsibilities there. Furthermore, I understand that you may have other business ventures in the Philippines, where tax obligations may be relevant.

If this matter cannot be resolved directly, I will be working with local authorities and my legal counsel to address this further. However, I would like to believe that we can find a professional and respectful solution that avoids unnecessary conflict.

Thank you for addressing this promptly.
