My Experience with Hawk Horizon Digital – Disappointing Overall
I want to start by saying that Shawn was excellent throughout this process. He was informative, professional, responsive, and genuinely seemed interested in helping. Unfortunately, my experience with Andrew and the team assigned to my project was a completely different story.
The overall experience was extremely disappointing. Communication was poor, messages often went unanswered, updates took far longer than expected, and it seemed like there was very little urgency or attention to detail throughout the project.
I paid for a professional website service, and I expected a professional finished product. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that I had already built the foundation of the website myself. Most of the site was already completed. The work required was primarily making requested changes, updating certain sections, correcting issues, and finishing the remaining items. Despite that, several things I specifically requested were never completed. I ended up having to go back and correct things that were overlooked, as well as fix mistakes that were made by their team.
There were multiple instances where errors went unnoticed, requested changes weren't properly addressed, and I felt like I was having to manage the project myself just to get basic things accomplished.
The timeline was another major issue. I was originally given the expectation that this project would take approximately one to two weeks. Instead, it dragged on for over a month, and even after all that time, the website still wasn't in the launch-ready condition I was promised.
When you hire a company and pay for a service, you shouldn't have to constantly follow up, point out overlooked details, correct mistakes, and wonder when the work you paid for will actually be completed.
I understand that projects can have complications and that things don't always go perfectly. However, communication, accountability, attention to detail, and delivering what was promised should be the bare minimum.
My recommendation: If you're considering Hawk Horizon Digital, I would strongly encourage you to explore other options before committing. Based on my experience, I would not choose this company again.
I do want to emphasize that Shawn was great, and I have no complaints about his professionalism. Unfortunately, the experience with Andrew and the team handling the actual website development overshadowed everything else.
Save yourself the frustration, do your research, and consider another company. Your time and money deserve better.
