Avoid Hays Education (Leeds & Huddersfield) – They just want you "on the books"

I have worked for many agencies over the years, but my experience with Hays Education (specifically the Leeds/Huddersfield branch) has been the worst by far.
The registration process was an endless, draining timeline of paperwork and long application forms. After providing every detail and proof requested, I realized it was all just a box-ticking exercise for them. Dealing with Michelle Audis was incredibly disappointing; there was no contact back, and I had to constantly follow up myself just to get any status update.
It is clear they are only interested in getting you registered as a member "on their books" to boost their numbers. Since completing the paperwork, there have been no calls and no job offers. If you are a professional in West Yorkshire looking for an agency that actually respects your time and finds you work, look elsewhere.

This agency hate contract staff they…

This agency hate contract staff they recruit and think they are superior and in their books its fine when a contractor is working their client customer site if a permanent staff member hurles verbal abuse at them using the C word. They have to be the worst agency to work for who like thugs and plebs and not experienced qualified people, they are like something you get on your shoe

Sean Murphy Hays Recruitment Brighton…

Sean Murphy Hays Recruitment Brighton office WhatsApp me his full home address and postcode in order to settle dispute of incorrect pay with a fight outside his property after his shift to settle the matter rather than address it.!
Absolutely Shocking behaviour in which Hays has already tried to get trust pilot to take my review down.
I shall not be silenced about this dreadful company and it's staff's unprofessional behaviour!

Hays Group desperation

Received a text today detailing possible work introduced as follows - 'Happy New Year! This is on behalf of Amelia Smith at Hays Group UK.' This was an unsolicited approach, and frankly was a pitiful example of targetting as what Amelia was offering was completely inappropriate for my age, and my profession.

In reference to my last review of hays

In reference to my last review of hays, they have still shown zero remorse or empathy as a result of forcing a contractor (me) into unemployment with underhanded double crossing and plotting.

Occasionally one of their consultants will get in touch promising to offer work but it leads to nothing

They are just a repulsive company full stop

Their consultants have no empathy or care in the world for the torment, pain and he'll they put contractors through and there is just a complete waste of time in trying to reason with this agency

A vile culture, consultants with zero care and a systematic way in how they carry themselves as an agency.

This agency will help destroy you and force you into limbo, then offer you no solution to fix the hell they impose

This is not an employment agency, rather a get along gang where consultants will mercilessly hurt you and then torment you thereafter

Go to other employment agencies as Hays are as toxic as they come

I dread to think what this agency have put others through who aren't as mentally strong as myself.

Awful awful awful and they should be shutdown

I repeat this is not a employment agency.

Professional, Supportive, and Effective – My Hays UK JourneyI had the pleasure of working with Hays…

I had the pleasure of working with Hays UK during my recent job search, and I want to give special recognition to my recruiter, Nicola Norrington

Nicola was incredibly welcoming and professional from the very start. She was always there when needed, regularly kept me updated on every aspect of my application, and provided outstanding aftercare once I secured the role. Her support made the whole process smooth and stress-free, and I truly felt valued throughout.

Thanks to Hays UK — and especially Nicola — I’ve now stepped into a fantastic new opportunity. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a recruiter who genuinely cares about your success.

Ghosting is not acceptable.

How can someone on LinkedIn be rabid for my CV as it’s a great match for my niche skill set.
And then proceed to ghost me.
It’s hard enough in these market conditions without this behaviour!
Please sort it out!

If I could I would give these a zero star. Constantly reaching out with JDs that are not even remotely related to my work experience, do they even make the effort to check? Lazy at best. There are better recruitment companies out there such as searchability.

Hays recruitment is the worst firm

Hays recruitment is the worst firm. After many unanswered emails I tried to call and establish a connection to kickstart the job hunting process. No call back, no arrangement of a meeting. So I decided to be pragmatic and go into their London office. Zero help whatsoever. Most of the team were out and so after speaking to someone else I was promised a call back. Surprise surprise didn’t receive a call: this was for the life sciences team. I’m convinced they don’t work or are actually the most disorganised and poorly structured team which is why they can’t handle their workload. Hays, if you can’t keep on top of the people you promise to help then don’t offer it.
Don’t waste your time with Hays.

A bad experience

A bad experience, all they try to do in this agency is to fool you. You are employed as they say but you do not benefit from simple things like PPE, they only pay your vacation. Many requirements, courses that they require but you pay for them.... The salary decreases from month to month without any explanation, just cutting you off. In my opinion, the agents who recruit have no experience, just liars.

They will fob you off

They will fob you off, if you ring, email them as I did 3 times they will take our message , lie to you , say someone will get back to you, which will Not happen.

It's important we shame these type of Recruitment Agencies so we can expose the truth about them.

Very horrible Recruitment Agency

Very horrible Recruitment Agency, I signed up with them and was called immediately by a consultant, after the meeting, I was sent links to upload all my documents, passport etc. I was a bit sceptical but assured by consultant to upload all docs to enable continuation. They collected all my data and disappeared. This is really concerning, as I uploaded all of my personal information when asked to complete their compliance. This is unprofessional and unlawful. It can be considered unlawful for recruitment agencies to collect your passport and other sensitive information without providing you with work, as this could violate data protection laws like GDPR, which require that personal data is only collected for "specified, explicit and legitimate purposes" and should be relevant to the job application process; collecting sensitive information without a clear justification could be considered a breach of privacy and potentially illegal. They should be reported to the authorities.

Time wasters with misleading info

Awful, absolutely awful- was approached on LinkedIn by some woman called Caitlin Godfrey, (never approached them) to interview for their company- I took the time to schedule an interview around my own time- in this case was my break time for my current job. Was told I will hear back the next working day, just to not hear anything at all- didn’t think the interview was bad personally, but they were hiding a few answers to questions which seemed dodgy, but either way I would of appreciated some feedback regardless of if I was a fit for the job or not, as you guys were the one who approached me to take advantage of this opportunity, but just ghosted, despite mentioning ghosting as something you lot were against in the interview when discussing recruitment values. Guys please don’t even waste your time, look at the reviews from companies and candidates like myself, whether it is to work under them or to use to help secure a job for another company- the company is deficient as you can see from candidates and clients who have reviewed. Just don’t even bother. Was probably a sign since their flexibility arrangement option they had said they offer which they spoke briefly of before the interview was misleading anyways when mentioned again in the interview and their main focus to get you to management seems pretty much similar to a pyramid scheme, which shows a lack of job security in my opinion.
