Normal banking is fine… when push comes to shove, such as disputes and other technical problems, support people have next to zero knowledge and any intentions to fix it.

Know this before you go for an HDFC auto loan
I bought a Nexon EV in Nov 22 through loan from HDFC. I was surprised when i asked for prepayment of loan. Customer care would not respond over email. Calling customer care was futile. I managed to get the link for prepayment that didnot work, it locked itself after the first failed attempt.
Finally i went to their branch in Pune but was told since the loan holder is not there, i cannot pay. An arguement followed. I was told i cant prepay more than 25% of the outstanding principle. This was not in my policy at the time of issue, but was told it is on their website. How am i supposed to know? And why? If one pays anytime, it comes with 3% penalty. It was a horrible experience. Took me 15 days to prepay to an unwilling bank.

Worst bank I have ever dealt!!!zero star customer service staff who doesn’t know how to update an international phone number in NRI Account as they have updated my phone number in wrong format which caused me unnecessarily harassment and not getting OTP’s.
Now Instead of fix the issue and accept the mistake, they have sent me mobile number update form with other unnecessary documentation which clearly shows that they haven’t done anything wrong and I have made a mistake!!!!
HDFC -THE WORST BANK EVER
Absolutely the worst bank to deal with. Their customer support is careless, unresponsive, and completely lacking seriousness. Even after repeated follow-ups, there’s no ownership or urgency to resolve issues.
Honestly, it’s better to bank with a local branch or cooperative bank, where at least they value customers and act on requests. HDFC seems to have lost all sense of customer service — only good at making promises, not keeping them.

I have a current account in HDFC, It was opened 3 weeks back. Since then I have been struglig to get financial rights. We clearly gave instructions to branch people and have already give request form again, all they say is please wait for few more days we are Sorry.

Extremely disappointed with the unethical behavior of HDFC Bank’s Sarita Vihar branch.
My salary account was converted to a Premium Account without my consent, and unauthorized charges were deducted. When questioned, the Branch Head claimed the reversal was done as a favor. Reversing a wrong charge is not a favor — it’s the bank’s duty. I demand proof of my consent and a written explanation for this misconduct. If not resolved within 72 hours, I will escalate this to the RBI and Consumer Forum. I don’t need goodwill reversals — I need accountability and transparency.

Very pathetic service for my current account opening in the Ponda, upper bazaar branch , Goa. Team totally inexperienced to handle even the basic documentation for account opening process. Multiple errors in basic account opening.
Customer's interests come last to these people!
This bank has overconfidence that it is the largest private bank in India and labelled as 'too big to fail'. They know customers will trust them with their money because of the size. That has made them very negligent towards customers. First of all, they only want to upsell insurance policies. I went to a local branch because my FD was getting auto renewed. This guy there is sitting with trophies received from Aditya Birla insurance and he's trying to sell me policies. I am sitting at the bank trying to give the bank my FD money and this guy wants to send it out to Aditya Birla insurance. I am SHOCKED. Is he an employee of the bank or an insurance agent? no wonder banks are struggling to get deposits.
And don't even get me started on their spam calls. Every day 10 calls asking for personal loans and cards. No point complaining. The bank says they are third party agencies calling and wash their hands off. Now why are these third parties calling? Because of the commission offered by the bank, right? Stop those stupid commissions and the spam calls will stop. But the bank won't do this.

Hdfc bank is not user friendly. They could not help in making an international transfer just to malaysia another asian country after all. The bank employees say that international transactions are taken care by exclusive team for that. But that team is super useless. And finally I did through another indian bank account. Hdfc deduct charges as if their father's own property that we took as deposits for saving and current account. They took almost 5 lacs inr in the last 3 years putting all sort of charges in both saving and current account. Dear customer who ever thought of opening an account on hdfc please save your ass from deducting n number of charges . I am very much pissed with their deduction. Even if you have zero balance also they deduct in minus :) what a shame. I have shifted my account to bank of india and union bank of india. Its still not convenient for me but still no deduction. My money is in safe account now.

Very poor response from the credit card department, especially from Mr. Shaiju. I had a very bad experience with him. I don't understand why the bank employs such irresponsible individuals in this position. This kind of behavior negatively affects the bank's reputation.
