Messy and expensive.

After Host1Plus became Heficed, things became messy.

[1] Focus on enterprise/DevOps clients.

Are you looking for a hosting company or a IP management platform?

Heficed is presenting itself as the latest. It seems to demonstrate a business focus on enterprise / devops clients, and this reflects in their product offerings and their expertise in general.

[3] Discontinuation of the VPS product

If you are a long-term Host1Plus client, you might be feeling displaced right now. They are going to discontinue the VPS product by the end of the year, and you won't be able to modify your VPS until them.

Your business is growing and you need a larger disk? You cant. You want to hire a new VPS server? You can't either.

They are migrating clients to a "Kronos Cloud Server", which is similar to a VPS, but the regular prices are higher, and even though they say that former clients will get a discount coupom, there are no warranties that the prices will be kept the same for old clients, and that the VPS will be migrated to this new solution without hassle. It's worrysome for those with production sites running there, at least.

[3] Slow client panel.

The new client panel that you use to manage your server, billing and support was built on Angular but it's poorly optimized. It might not seem a big issue, but if you have to deal with it daily, it can get really annoying. Be prepared to wait between 25 to 40 seconds when you log in, open a new tab in it or refresh it for whathever reason.

I wouldn't recommend Heficed until they have finished their migration and define themselves as a company, as to what they want to offer, and how.

Host1plus provides relaible service since 6 years to us!

We would like to share our opinion on Host1plus because we relay know how hard it is to find a reliable host. That's why we make this review.

We (business) are currently working with 3 different hosting companies and with host1plus we are already 6 years. In the past 7 years of our www experience we passed many hosting companies. The majority of them cannot provide a proper service or are not able to communicate in a timely manner, admit mistakes that happen on their end or compensate damage done by huge service failures.

With Host1plus this was different from the beginning!

- Host1plus prices are fair. You always get what you pay for.
- Their support was always here for us for no extra costs!
- If there where technical issues they got communicated in time!
- If major failure happened ( and they are happening by all of them), they always compensated they damage done to us if any and if it was obviously their or their partners fault.
- Their up-time is approx 98% and this is TOP! Why 98% is TOP? Because all the 99% up-time guarantees out there, never kicked in, at least not by the hosters we had services on. The average was around around 95 - 96% over 1 year period.

We don´t want to mislead interested readers with our overall positive review about host1plus. There where and there will be technical issues the day or the other. Like by all the hosting companies out there!

The questions before choosing a hosting company are always: How fast it will be solved? How professional is the overall service? How available is the support? How much does it cost?

Assistance for Payment Issue

They assisted and helped me from A to Z on an issue I had concerning payment of an invoice, the reply to my requests and queries were quick, seems like they never sleep, they always found and guided me to a solution until the problem was resolved step by step and quick.

Host1Plus killed my 50k/day site.

They deleted my site and did disable my account because someone posted spam in a forum on my site. Beware of this company.

Late Update: (as a response to their reply below.)
You did not contact me before shutting down the website. I asked you to at least give me access to the data (Files and database), but you did also denied me that.

I understand your anti-spam policy. Most hosting companies apply that to email spam, this was clearly not the case.
As I did mention, a forum user posted spam and illegal content in the forum.

Nor I or you as a hosting company did anything illegal.
I was in contact with you and tried to work with you directly when the incident was discovered by me.

I have never seen such poor handling of a customers website when it's such a big website when it comes to the number of visitors and the value of the website that comes with it.

You did basically just throw it in the trash and didn't even care to tell me.

If you could do this to that website, I'm sure you wont even think twice before deleting any of your customers websites.

Beware of Host1Plus which is now known as Heficed!

Servers down for 48 hours without any support

Servers down and , even there website down. and they not respond on twitter account or emails.
I have about 12 services with them , and this issues happen every 1,2 months . I do not recommend anybody to take risk to host with HOST1PLUS anymore after 5 years of work with them.

We was dealing with a major storage subsystem malfunction that has affected most of our services in Frankfurt, Germany. We have deployed all of our resources towards eliminating the issue and both of our support teams was working 24/7 to answer all the questions. Please note that because of this technical problem there were a high load of tickets and respond time was lower.

There are no decent words to express our apologies, but we can assure you that certain measures will be taken to guarantee that our customers would not endure this again.

"Gotcha" business practices -- beware

Not worth your time as there are plenty of decent hosting companies out there -- this is NOT one of them.

Slow disk IO (10MB/s) and "gotcha" business (READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOLKS... LOTS OF "gotchas").

Look elsewhere for decent hosing.
