Lettings service was excellent
As a first time Landlord, I spent a lot of time researching letting and managing agents and came across Hello Neighbour and liked their transparent good value pricing model and modern portal for setting up the letting. I asked them lots of questions in the run up to engaging them and throughout the process and they were very helpful so always felt in the know (first Victoria and then Russell once engaged). They handled the viewings and found tenants quickly at asking price which was better than expected. They handled all compliance and other matters with no issues. Couldn’t have asked for it to go any smoother. So can highly recommend their letting service.
Now on their property management service which is early days but seems fine so far.

Genuinely the best experience I have ever had with an agency in London. The process was so quick and easy. Russell was easy to communicate with throughout, and answered all questions promptly. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely the Worst Experience
This has been the worst renting experience I have ever had, and I would strongly advise others to stay away from Hello Neighbour.
I paid a holding deposit, successfully completed all reference checks, and even signed the tenancy agreement from my side. Everything was set. Then, on the actual day I was supposed to move in, I received a call from the agency informing me that the landlord had decided to sell the property instead – and that he already had a buyer and agreement in place. This news came after I had already packed all my belongings and arranged and paid for removals.
There was no warning, no accountability, and no compensation offered for the money I lost as a result of their complete lack of professionalism. The agents were disorganised, showed no understanding of the impact this caused, and made no real effort to help. It was clear they had no control over or awareness of the landlord’s actions, which makes me seriously question their credibility and communication processes.
I wouldn’t wish this kind of experience on anyone. Hello Neighbour has shown me just how careless and unprofessional a lettings agency can be. I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone.

Nice platform that was very easy to use. The team were very helpful and prompt to respond when needed. All went smoothly in the end.
Incorrect tenancy end date in agreement
I was initially impressed with Hello Neighbour until I noticed that the tenancy end date in the agreement was wrong and the tenants disputed this. To date Hello Neighbour have refused to acknowledge their mistake and are now no longer replying to emails.......I recall mentioning this when I checked the agreement, however they insisted that the end date was correct, when it was not. Very disappointed, as I was going to use them again this year and recommend them to others.
**UPDATE: I have also responded. If the tenancy end date was correct then the amount stated was incorrect - one of these is incorrect, they cannot both be right.
I have been told this is correct - however I am not sure I am convinced, but I do not have time to argue. I am not sure how you can have the date and amount not aligning and have to amend or give back 4 days payment at the end? If the tenant pays for 12 months plus 4 days then the agreement should state that. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this.

Awful experience
My flat was repeatedly misrepresented, including being listed as a flat share on Zoopla and as suitable for two sharers on Rightmove — despite being a one-bedroom apartment. This mistake went out in alerts and affected how the property was perceived from day one.
Hello Neighbour constantly pushed for rent reductions, citing weak market conditions while showing me low-quality applicants — including students and those I had already flagged for bad credit. I received multiple no-shows, and the overall approach felt focused on closing a finder’s fee quickly rather than securing the right tenant or protecting my property’s long-term value.
This caused lasting damage to my rental positioning, and I would not recommend them.

Prompt response to my poor experience
The website offer looks clear and simple and I wanted to verify I'd understood the service offer before paying the fee. Making a call was a big mistake- or perhaps the best thing I did- the person had a script and could not deviate from it to answer my very specific simple questions, simply repeating their script information. Unable to explain how if " Get rented" at £69 includes advertising, credit checks, contract and deposit, that if I don't need the advertising, it suddenly becomes a "pro" service that costs £440. Since posting my review the company have been in touch to get a better understanding of my user experience, which is impressive. They were also able to answer the very straightforward question I was asking, without trying to sell me a service I didn't want!
