missing ingredients

Frequently missing ingredients. Once cancelled completely with no notice. Produce especially could be better quality.

I must further reduce my rating from 3 to 2. After persistent missing ingredients. When i go to prepare a meal for the family, I expect ALL of the ordered ingredients to be available. It is no longer a case of IF things will be missing. but how many?

Will this recipe actually be enough for us or are we missing a key ingredient? Not acceptable for a grocery service.

Häufig fehlen Zutaten. Einmal wurde die Bestellung ohne Vorwarnung komplett storniert. Vor allem die Qualität der Produkte könnte besser sein.

Ich muss meine Bewertung aufgrund der ständig fehlenden Zutaten von 3 auf 2 Punkte senken. Wenn ich für meine Familie koche, erwarte ich, dass ALLE bestellten Zutaten vorhanden sind. Es geht nicht mehr darum, OB etwas fehlt, sondern wie viel.

Reicht das Rezept überhaupt für uns aus oder fehlt eine wichtige Zutat? Für einen Lebensmittellieferdienst ist das inakzeptabel.

Ordered once and never again

Ordered once and never again. After hearing about Hello Fresh for years, I ordered one box just to give it a try. There's no options for at-home-delivery groceries where I live so I was hoping this would be a worthy substitute.

The delivery was set for Friday, 09.01.26 by 12 pm. On the day and well into the morning, however, DPD informed that the delivery couldn't be made and that it would be rescheduled for the next day. Today (10.01) I received an e-mail saying that the box would be delivered by 12 pm. So now, for the second day in a row, I have to spend the morning at home waiting for a box that doesn't come. It's now past 12 and no box has arrived. I have plans to leave the house soon and might miss the delivery, since it's now delayed for the second time.

There's a box of raw food (including fish, pork) that must be delivered for well over 24 hours now, and more than convenience, I compare this to a curse. I also have doubts about the safety of e.g. raw meat after such a delay. I would never consider using Hello Fresh again.

Update at 12:30 pm: I just received an update by DPD that "Sorry we missed you". DPD didn't miss me, because I was waiting for the box at home all morning for the second day in a row. DPD never even rang the doorbell at my house.

I contacted HF's customer service and waited more than 40 minutes to connect to an employee. They dismissed me as quickly as possible by saying a refund would be provided, but it turns out it's just a 10 EUR refund (vs. 50 EUR I spent for the box), provided just for a "delayed delivery". Despite now being TWO delivery windows that were missed, and the box still not having arrived yet.

At this point, keep my money, sure, but I'll make sure to tell everyone I know, and in every occasion I can, how everyone should avoid Hello Fresh at all costs.

Es schmerzt Uns sehr zu lesen, dass Dein erster Versuch, Unseren Service zu testen, in einer so großen Enttäuschung gemündet ist. Wir verstehen Deinen Frust absolut, denn gerade wenn man keine anderen Möglichkeiten für Lebensmittel-Lieferungen hat, verlässt man sich umso mehr auf die Pünktlichkeit und Zuverlässigkeit Unseres Services.

Dass DPD die Zustellung mehrfach verschoben hat und schlussendlich behauptete, Dich nicht angetroffen zu haben, obwohl Du Zuhause gewartet hast, ist inakzeptabel. Wir wissen, wie kostbar Deine Zeit ist, und es tut Uns leid, dass Du zwei Vormittage umsonst eingeplant hast. Besonders bei empfindlichen Lebensmitteln wie Fisch und Schweinefleisch ist Deine Sorge um die Kühlkette und die Sicherheit der Produkte absolut berechtigt – Deine Gesundheit steht für Uns immer an erster Stelle.

Es ist zudem sehr bedauerlich, dass Dein Kontakt zu Unserem Kundenservice so unbefriedigend verlaufen ist. Eine Wartezeit von 40 Minuten und eine anschließende Gutschrift von lediglich 10 Euro stehen in keinem Verhältnis zu dem Ärger und dem Warenwert Deiner Box. Das entspricht keineswegs dem Standard, den Wir Unseren Kunden bieten möchten.

Wir raten Dir dringend, Dich noch einmal bei Unserem Kundenservice zu melden, damit Wir direkt auf Dein Anliegen eingehen und eine angemessene Lösung für die gesamte Box finden können. Es ist Uns wichtig, diesen Vorfall für Dich korrekt abzuschließen, auch wenn Wir verstehen, dass Dein Vertrauen in HelloFresh nachhaltig geschädigt wurde.

Wir hoffen sehr, dass Wir durch eine erneute Prüfung Deines Falles zumindest die finanzielle Seite Deiner Beschwerde zu Deiner Zufriedenheit klären können.

No longer good value

I like the idea but over time the quality and portion sizes have gotten way worse and are no longer worth the full price. Feels like the only way to get value for money is to aggressively sell the boxes to your friends and I hate doing that.

Ingredients are Good, all you need to cook your meal.

Ingredients are Good, dish selection is Ok. ( we keep it in automatic way ) most are based on Pasta with something else... what make you get a bit tiered after a wild.
The negative point for us is about not have possibility to have the menu and recipes in English ( only German is provide ) what create some mistakes between translations . Price wise you can't get the same price in any restaurant in Germany , you could get better price if you buy good by your self, never the less is a good deal all come to you in a nice package with all you need to cook the meal.

After 9 months of ordering @ hellofresh

We are using hellofresh since about 9 months now. Our experience was from start and is still good.
In situations in which we faced issues hellofresh was always very cooperative and helpful in solving complaints.
We highly recommend their service and the food!
We also tried some of their organic options meet options and do really like them.

Good but expensive solution for busy days

I decided to try HelloFresh as I struggle with planning my meals for a single household, getting all the ingredients while not having to throw away stuff. With HelloFresh it is pretty easy and comfortable, there are many different recipes in the app, and choosing the mix for the weekly box was easy.
BUT the subscription model and fees are pretty intransparent, it took me a while to understand every step and where I had to pay extra fees (and I am skilled in tech). There are so many extra fees (for example delivery on a different time schedule, bio meat instead of regular, fancy meals/dishes etc.) - I mean you can bypass them if you choose differently - but it is inconvenient and annoying to always look out for another hidden part where they try to get more money from you. Yes it is easy to pause the subscription but they will annoy you a lot with marketing emails, push notifications and literally beg you to decide otherwise and not pause the upcoming week.
In the end it is delicious, the delivery went perfectly fine, the recipes are easy to follow, the portion sizes are okayish. But I am not a fan of their business and marketing strategy.
I think when I have a very busy week ahead, I will use it, but it is not worth the money to do this all the time.

Love the meals and recipes

Love the meals and recipes! Especially not having to worry what I would like to cook during the week. I want to eat healthy and in times of stress and work it’s not that easy! And Hello Fresh is a life saver regarding regularly well-balanced nutrition.

Don't have to worry about what to cook

Have been using it for the whole year now. Plan to keep using.

Pros:
+ nice selection of dishes
+ good healthy options
+ tasty 😋
+ recipes are easy to follow and high-quality. I even learned a couple of nice cooking techniques.

What can be improved:
- If I don't select the dishes, I always get the same numbers (8, 27), which I often don't like. Why won't you just choose randomly from my favorites?
- uneven portion sizes. One dish can easily last for 2 days, another can be eaten in one meal. It makes it hard to plan, as I typically cook for next day's lunch too.
- Ingredients are sometimes delivered incorrectly or missing. Rarely, just a couple of times over the year, but still.

Sometimes ingredients are missing

• Sometimes ingredients are missing, e.g. a clove of garlic or even a whole avocado.

• Sometimes HelloFresh includes a different ingredient, e.g. bacon instead of sucuk – this is well-intentioned, but if you were looking forward to sucuk, it can be annoying.

• The bags of stock (vegetable, beef, etc.) are made of paper that absorbs moisture, so the contents of the bags are often stuck together. However, I have seen new bags that have been improved. I hope that the old ones will no longer be produced.
