Onboarding Session

After an initial chat with Harvey, I’ve just had my onboarding call with Sivu and it genuinely exceeded expectations. She explained everything clearly — from the handover process to how HelpBox will get my accounts prepared before the end‑of‑May deadline. She even arranged a call with one of the accountants next week to go through my questions, plus a follow‑up. A brilliant start to working together and I’m feeling very positive about the switch.

Major error, but fast replies and cheaper than some alternatives

I actually came back to change my review from a 5* review after a few things changed once I was onboarded.

First thing to say, I notice mine was not the only review here which was made directly AFTER the onboarding experience, but crucially BEFORE actual accountancy services had begun.

At the very end of my onboarding call, I was asked if I would leave my review, and I notice from reading some other 5-star reviews that they note how friendly those INITIAL calls were, but (like mine) with no reference to the actual service provided once you're in.

To me, this seems like a bit of a cheeky tactic - ask for the review while your excitement levels are high from onboarding and while you're face to face with them on a call, but well before the thing that matters (i.e. the service) has begun.

All that said, the service has been fairly good. Prompt replies from the team for the most part and everyone isvery friendly.

But then a fairly catastrophic error cropped up at a critical moment today, which prompted me to update this review.

At 4:59pm today (Friday), I received an email from the team telling me I owed HMRC £400+ due to VAT... but another email from the team 20 minutes earlier told me I was OWED that same sum BY HMRC.

The deadline is over the weekend, and the team logged off 1 minute after sending the conflicting email. So I'm now left trying to decide whether to take the advice of the earlier emails (and risk a late payment fine) or the most recent one (and pay unnecessarily).

I'll stick it out for longer as I appreciate the lower cost and fast replies, but this was extremely frustrating.

Being new to everything I needed help…

Being new to everything I needed help from day 1. I found Helpbox and decided to give it a go. Molly and Ryan were great from the start! Having the ability to take their time and explain everything in simple terms so that someone new to managing this kind of thing could understand it. I'm only just getting started with Helpbox but I can say with confidence that I think it is going to be a great decision.

Very friendly and professional

Very friendly, personable and professional. Took the stress out of becoming a sole trader with absolutely no financial knowledge. I expressed an interest with them at late on a Tuesday night and they got back to me 7:30am the next morning, answered a lot of my questions and also had me ready to be onboarded for the following week!

Just signed up with Helpbox last week. The staff are very helpful and professional and very patient in explaining things to me.
Just had a call with Juantelle regarding MTD. She is very professional, explains things clearly and very patient answering my questions.
Highly recommended.

Excellent onboarding experience with Helpbox

Helpbox is well organized and follow up with details. The prompt response is much appreciated. During the onboarding session, Ryan was very clear to explain the services. While I had so many questions to ask, he was patience and professional to give me all the answers I looked for. It is certainly a good start and I look forward to the prompt support and professionalism of the services ahead.
