HELPING HANDS of Dawlish was originally established in October 1985 in response to a need for a reliable and trustworthy Independent Living and Mobility Aid provider. Over the ensuing years it became more evident that so many of our Clients were wanting a wider range of "practical aids" so that they could remain in their own homes independently. Seeing this need, we rented a small local shop and further developed a Retail Base in our lovely home town of Dawlish. After 2 years it became clear that a larger, more suitable property was needed in the Town Centre and so we moved to our High Street shop, where we have remained since 1999 - serving our Community. It has been a very rewarding journey and the ultimate aim has never changed to this day, providing practical help in whatever way we can, to our Clients/Customers. Our shop stocks a wide range of solutions for Independent Living and a wide and varied range of Mobility HIRE Equipment, whether you are looking for short or long term hire.

Couldn't recommend this company enough. We went on holiday to Devon and couldn't fit a scooter in the car. The lady behind the counter was amazing and helpful. I love that helping hands is there as I don't have to worry about being able to get around while on holiday. We will definitely be using them when we come on holiday to Devon every year. I also think that the rental price is worth paying. Would highly recommend.

Very helpful. Came away on holiday and discovered that we had left our mobility scooter key behind. Called in here and we were very kindly helped by Tracy to find a matching key, no fuss, no bother, just a really good helpful, friendly service. Thank you.
Hired a mobility scooter for my sister for our holiday in Devon. Excellent customer service, helpful lovely lady took my booking couldn't fault her customer service, she also arranged for the scooter to be delivered and picked the driver Sean was also great showed me how the scooter worked and gave me the charger and instruction booklet, again absolutely lovely helpful person. Would thoroughly recommend and if we come back to this area will use again.

Bolton Branch Helping Hands - My auntie was apprehensive about having a "stranger" coming into her home for the first time. From the first few moments of the visit the carer was engaging, used the background information supplied to have a quality conversation and very quickly built trust and rapport with my auntie. There was a difficult situation during the visit when an elderly friend happened to call and was dismissive of the need for a carer. The carer handled the situation brilliantly, re-enforcing the care being provided to the benefit of my auntie. This could have been a challenging situation but was diffused by the carer using their good inter-personal skills. I was also very appreciative of being given feedback on everything that happened during the call. Having spoken with my auntie since the call she is now eagerly anticipating the next visit of someone she now regards as a "friend". I think helping hands do try and match customers well with carers and give the consistency of the customer/carer match to allow a strong connection to blossom. Would highly recommend based on my experience.
Helping Hands Dawlish - we would like to say a Big THANK YOU for all your efficiency. We had left it rather late in contacting you for a couple of disability aids to help my elderly mum whilst we were on holiday at Cofton Holiday park. You made it so easy and gave us a great piece of mind which resulted in us having a stress free and lovely holiday. Thank you to Shaun for delivering and collecting the appliances. Would certainly recommend you and will use you again for future holidays. From the Armitage family Forest of Dean,Glos

Had a problem with my mobility scooter the back wheel unit got stuck we tried everything I don’t have strength to do it and assist my partner. He has a rib injury so struggled. so I called the shop for advice and they said bring it down we can have a look it was stuck fast so the lovely lady called her colleague he came along and helped my partner it needed two strong people to get it apart which they did together I couldn’t be happier they wouldn’t except any payment for helping there kindness was overwhelming can’t thank them enough would definitely recommend if you need any help or advice wish there were more people like them around.
So thanks again I’m afraid my memory isn’t good so don’t recall there names which is really frustrating but they know who they are I did give them both a hug as a thank you

We were recommended Helping Hands by a friend as we needed a wheelchair for my wife after a hip replacement. They were brilliant! Arranging the 'chair, including delivery to our holiday address, could not have been easier and everyone we dealt with was both friendly and efficient. Hire prices were amazing - we were able to compare to a visit to Disneyland last year and Helping Hands beat their prices into a cocked hat! Shaun, who delivered the 'chair, couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I have used helpinghands bromsgrove for 8 years, recently my nan has been having falls regular. I have spoken to the manager Martine regularly over the last few months and everything I have asked of them they have done there up most to accommodate me and my nan. They are all friendly and welcoming.
This is a great little shop. After a knee operation I have to sleep on my back for 6 weeks which is resulting in no sleep at all and terrible backache. After checking Helping Hands website I found a back rest and within a couple of hours it was delivered. Can't get better than that.

The ladies at the shop were very busy but extremely helpful and ensured our holiday needs were met when at the last minute we needed 2 motorbility scooters. And Shaun the delivery driver was prompt and invaluable. Thank you all

Excellent service from start to finish, from my initial phone call to Tracey, email updates, delivery everything was simply brilliant. We were desperate for some powered transport for our daughter who can’t walk whilst we were on holiday in Dawlish, our holiday would have been ruined if it wasn’t for Helping Hands, the price for the weeks hire was excellent, the delivery was spot on (Shaun was great) and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I couldn’t recommend them more. Thanks again from the Jones family!
