Since 1989, we have been providing compassionate, person-centred care at home to individuals across the UK. Our journey started in a small house in Warwickshire, and today, we have over 150 branches across the country. This growth has allowed us to extend our exceptional care and make a bigger difference while allowing our customers to remain in the place they love. Our carers are kind and compassionate individuals who always go the extra mile. They are fully trained to provide the highest level of care, no matter what condition you are living with. We are also recognised for delivering specialist dementia care, a service we have enhanced through our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society. This has allowed us to provide our carers with dementia training to help support our customers living with different types of dementia. Our service is fully regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales. We are proud to have received an overall rating of GOOD, and the CIW reported that our carers go “above and beyond, doing things that are ‘not on the list’.

Helping hands have been fantastic for my dad after losing my mum at Christmas. We were very worried about dad being on his own but he was determined to try and stay in his own home Helping Hands have made this possible as they are kind, caring and compassionate and they communicate really well with myself and my sister as requested by my dad. Best of all they send the same person every day, Mel , who is so kind and hard working. Mel really understands what my dad needs and likes and it helps so much having the same person as much as possible.

Georgina was so sweet and helpful and kind. I told her everything. My illness. Husband's illness. State of the house since we fell ill. We are recovering but not up to cleaning and packing. Decorating is another seperate issue being dealt with seperately. I just want to be able to manage again. X

I used helping hands for my dad for around six months after I became frustrated with the terrible level of service that the agency provided by our Council gave. Their service was a total contrast, very professional, caring, proactive, attentive. It cost us a good bit more, but also gave us far better value including peace of mind that we had reliable professional care.

We have used Helping Hands for the past year, and the service has been first-rate. Our carer, Amy, is excellent. Amy visits three time a week to support my elderly brother, and she provides efficient care with kindness and sympathy. I would certainly recommend Helping Hands to others who need reliable, high-quality care.

I’ve had a mixed experience with Helping Hands. The good: the majority of my carers have been there for me. However, I’m disappointed in how the service is run. The 7-day cancellation policy is especially frustrating because you only receive the rota on the Friday before the week, meaning you get it after you could actually cancel. This allows no adaptation for life, and as a younger person using the service because of my disabilities, it’s not really appropriate. Also, travel costs feel misleading. I’m paying a lot, but carers only get a small fraction. The rest, I’m told, goes to other things. This really should be part of the main fee, but this really is a bit morally ambiguous to call it travel costs. Overall, good carers, but the policies need a lot of work. Just be aware, you will be paying a lot of money for a fairly average service.”

Helping Hands have generally provided a high standard of care for my elderly mother. They appear to be well managed locally, Lesley is excellent and is a great communicator. The care team are very reliable and help to provide peace of mind, particular thanks to Wa, Leanne and Jacko.
