PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BUYING FROM OAKWOOD MOTOR COMPANY/ HERO FINANCE

I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before purchasing a car from this dealership.

I purchased a vehicle (Mg zs) on 16th March, with full payment completed, and was initially told the car would be ready that same weekend pending standard checks. From that point on, I experienced repeated delays, poor communication, and ultimately a completely unacceptable outcome.

The timeline kept changing — from weekend collection, to the following week, to Saturday, then Sunday, and finally I was told the car would be delivered to me on Monday. On the day of delivery, I received no communication. My calls went unanswered, I was promised they’d ring back in 20 minutes, then rang again and told it’ll be 15 minutes and when I did eventually get a response, I was told they “can’t confirm anything until the morning.”

After ignoring my further calls,I visited the dealership in person, where staff appeared unprepared and dismissive. I was initially told the car was at with MG for EV updates. However, after further questioning, the truth came out — my car had actually been given to another customer as a courtesy vehicle. They tried to say they had done this before I bought the car, either way they had lied as he was updating me through out the weeks saying it had gone in for its checks and was in the queue for the next check, knowing full well someone else was driving around in it.

This is completely unacceptable. A car that I had already paid for in full was given to someone else, without my knowledge or consent.

They did offer to resolve this by-
- Paying my first month’s finance (which was due the next day despite me not having the car)
- Offering 14p per mile compensation for the inconvenience

Neither of these come close to addressing the seriousness of what happened.

I was also told who ever had my car was not local so who knows how many extra miles would have been put on my car. I have read in other reviews mileage had significantly gone up for other customers, so this is likely something they’ve done before.

Due to the lack of transparency, broken promises, and clear breach of trust, I have now cancelled the agreement entirely.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Certain members of staff are literally lying to your face, it was only when we asked which MG the car was at that they had to come clean! I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy!!!!

Lee has been an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. True to his word at every stage, he delivered exactly what was promised and did so with an impressively fast turnaround time that exceeded expectations. It’s rare to find someone who combines reliability, efficiency, and genuine professionalism so effortlessly.

On top of that, his customer service is top-tier friendly, responsive, and clearly focused on making sure everything runs smoothly. You can tell he takes real pride in what he does, and it shows in the quality of his work and communication.

The car experience overall was very…

The car experience overall was very stressful and I was chasing people for updates etc. Communication between staff was nonexistent, I would leave a message for someone and they would never get it. When my car arrived there were mixed messages why it took over 3 weeks to get my car.

I am very pleased with my car but im still waiting for my fuel reimbursement which I was promised due all the stress.

I was communicating with Ryan and Todd. I know the distance was large but it was known when I first started this purchase. I'm not sure how honest they were with the issues I had.
