Do not go anywhere near this company…
Do not go anywhere near this company under any circumstances. They are disgraceful Rip-off merchants. I rented a car in in Tel Aviv Airport. When I returned the vehicle they said there was a small paint chip on the bumper approximately two centimetres across. There was no dent scratch or crack. When I looked at my credit card invoice a few days later they had charged me the full amount of the deductible - $520. Outrageous. I emailed to ask for for competing repair estimates and an invoice for the repair they claimed to have carried out. Despite several requests they have failed to provide any documentation except a fake photograph...of a completely different vehicle. They have not refunded a single penny of the amount they took by deception.
SCAM
Would give them zero if I could. Overcharged two years in a row. First year, they demanded I have a letter from my bank to confirm I have liability insurance. I provided them the letter this year and they charged me anyway. Liars and criminals.
STAY AWAY
This place is awful long lines arrived at 4 am and they had no car for us
reservation for Dollar rental became hertz ripoff
I made a reservation for Dollar rental and discovered it was run by Hertz. They refused ALIANZ Insurance that covers israel I got from expedia when I made this reservation. My initial quote for expedia was $216. With their insurance it became a total of $482. Dollar and Hertz are the same counter at the airport.
I should have looked at peoples reviews…Be ware, stay a way from this company
I should have looked at peoples reviews before dealing with them. What a horror story. I am getting money back for the the 3 days that I didn't have a car because I was lied to and was told that the car I originally rented and broke down will be replaced with a different one. They did come the next day but the car they brought was degusting. Dirty and full of animal hair. I was told by the delivery guy that the car was washed. He lied. I videoed the whole encounter and thank god I did because they they will not accommodate anything without proof. I was then promised that a different car will be delivered to me the next day. They never showed up and all my called were in vain. I was then forced to drive a dirty car while I am allergic to the animal hair back to the airport and did the exchange there. My experience was over 3 days and the story is long. Too long to describe is all in details here. I am joining the many people here in advising to not be fooled by the big name Hertz. It's Israel, It's a jungle with the worse kind of service I have ever experienced in the many times I have traveled. Be ware and stay a way from Hertz. And honestly, I have rented cars in other rental companies at this locations. They are ALL the same. Bunch of no good slaves who think they are kings.
Beware of Hertz Israel
Hertz Israel charged my credit card for optional insurance that I DECLINED. I’ve been renting cars for many years and this is the first time this happened. I will not rent again at Hertz Israel. There are enough honest car rental companies that don’t steal from you.
NEVER RENT TEHRE - Worst service ever
Worst service ever, do NEVER EVER rent there!
1. when you book the car from the website, it's without the mandatory insurance, then when you come to the countrer at 1am, they tell you to pay the insurance, which 50% of the price of the rental... absolutely digusting.
2. I return the car with 6/8 full tank, they charged me a full tank, telling me that at the sign, I allegedly took an option to retun the car with empty tank.. the guy specifically told me to return it full.
3. the customer car doesnt car about client satisfaction, they just care about charging more and more and give a very sour taste to the experience...
I will NEVER EVER rent with them again !
If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. Their additional hidden chargers exceed the rental cost. They’re also charging for full car insurance even though both my credit card and travel insurance cover me for this, and despite having letters from both those companies confirming this!
Use europcar - far better!
They over charge agent rental agreement…
They over charge agent rental agreement and refuse to compensate despite we have it in writing!!
I rented for a full month and returned after 3 weeks with agent quote for a price reduction in contract but they have their way and over charged even above the full month contract!!
An absolute disgrace of a company.
An absolute disgrace of a company.
When I collected the car, they gave me the wrong category of car, and the service at the Hertz office was slow, with their representative telling me there was nothing to discuss (had pre booked and paid for the rental).
That was bad, but when the petrol gauge was not full at the start of the rental, I took a photograph of the gauge with the date and time on the photo, and when I returned the car, I showed this to the manager at their office at the airport.
They told me they would take care of that, but didn’t, and when I returned home, there was a charge of over $100.
I really am not sure how Hertz can work with this Israeli company who are clearly not professional, nor efficient.
Stay away from Kesher/ Hertz/ Absolutely disgusting cimpany
If I could even 1 star is too much for that disgusting company. Beg you - stay away from them in Israel. In Israel they go under the name Kesher. On the 2nd day of my using a car I had a severe flat tire. It happened at 12 pm (afternoon). Wanted to put a spare, after opening the trunk found out that there was no spare at all. Instead a spray that was absolutely useless in my case. With a lot of difficulties approached the nearest car service. Nobody had that type. Wax on the phone with them trying to reach out to road assistance. Took me 3 hours to reach a person. Was waiting for road assistance in the middle of nowhere for 9 hours. No way. At 10 pm they told me that it will not be coming. At 10.30 I had no other choice but to leave the car and take the bus. Today these monsters charged me NIS 900.00 for diductible though I had a full coverage, and was locked in the car for more than 9 hours.
Terrible experience. Avoid Hertz.
We rented a car for two days. Apparently, two days is not 48 hours. It means pick up today, return tommorrow by 4pm. We had pre booked. Took 90 minute for them to issue one page contract and give us the car. We had to go collect it from a dark, underground car park near the office. Not easy as only long stair case and my wife is in a wheel chair. Travelling with another couple so at least we had help. We drove to Tiberius where we parked outside our hotel over night. In morning, one tire very low. We went to local garage. Guy kindly inflated it but we noted warn patch where air was leaking. He also altered us to the fact that all 4 tyres were worn to almost no tread. Unroad worthy. Local Hertz was only a short distance away. After about 2 hours of mucking around, including refusing to repair or replace tyre with leak, they agreed to change cars. So bloody rude…would it kill them to act human?
After wasting many hours on our two day trip we could only visit 50% of what we planned. Due two hours on second day muck around we could not get back to Jerusalem by 4pm (we could have made it by 4:20pm). I called them. They advised to return the car to Airport. We sort of were forced to do this as we didn’t know where we could park the car near our accomodation. As my wife uses a wheelchair this makes it harder. So we had to travel by train etc to get back. For this we were charged an extra $US 50 (no mention was made of this fee when I was asked to return to airport) plus $US 75 for the quarter tank of fuel we had used.
At this point we have, as they requested, submitted a complaint to their “customer service.” They have charged us $US 750 plus the agreed costs on our card for this two day rental…
I rented a car from Hertz on April 2023…
I rented a car from Hertz on April 2023 for 13 days. At the end they charged me an extra of $200 USD. They charged me for the full amount of the tank even though I brought the car with full tank when I returned it. And they charged me for the CDW even though I've showed them that my credit card cover me for that.
Unwanted Extra Fees & Ghosted by Customer Service
A rental experience with Hertz that started off smoothly ended up taking a sudden U-turn. Having rented cars from various companies over the years, I anticipated a straightforward process. However, I was met with an unexpected twist that has left me feeling both frustrated and disappointed.
After happily returning the car in excellent condition and following all the rules, I was flabbergasted to find an additional $105 tacked onto my bill under the vague and nebulous category of "Service Fee." I was never briefed about this additional fee, neither during the booking process nor at any point during my rental tenure. It's distressing that such an established company would add a fee without any explanation whatsoever.
The road became bumpier when I decided to reach out to their customer support for clarity on this matter. I was hopeful that it was a simple misunderstanding or clerical error that could be rectified swiftly. However, the unresponsiveness of their customer service team was truly disheartening. Despite multiple attempts to get in touch with them via email and phone, my questions went unanswered. The silence on their end felt like a stark contrast to their usual responsive demeanor.
While I understand that companies can have additional charges, what I find unacceptable is the lack of transparency and communication. As customers, we have the right to know exactly what we're being charged for. Moreover, customer support exists to help customers when issues arise; to be completely ignored feels like a breach of that implicit agreement.
In the past, I have had relatively satisfactory experiences with Hertz. However, this incident has tainted my perception of the brand. It's crucial for businesses to treat their customers fairly and uphold a certain level of service, which includes transparent billing and efficient customer service.
In conclusion, my trust in Hertz has been shaken. To anyone considering Hertz for their car rental needs, I would advise you to be cautious, inspect your bills thoroughly, and be prepared for potential customer service silence. I am hopeful that Hertz addresses these issues, as it's never too late to rectify a mistake and rebuild customer trust. Until then, I'm steering clear of this road.
The car rental in Jerusalem king David…
The car rental in Jerusalem king David Street of hertz treated me with respect and patience. However, they surprised me with the mandatory insurance costs that raise the price about 40% -nowhere in the website of Hertz or Priceline does it mention that israel is not covered on almost every credit card insurance. Also, there’s a mandatory coverage for theft replacement. The price is therefore going to be about 40% higher, than confirmed on the reservation. This is obviously hidden from the customer in an effort to bait them in-once israel you have about a 40% higher, then confirmed on the reservation. This is obviously hidden from the customer in an effort to entice them. Once in Israel, you have no choice but to accept the higher price. The customer should be notified this at the time of reservation.
I rented an economy small car through…
I rented an economy small car through priceline.com and I paid $600 which was supposed to be the full price. When I arrived to Tel Aviv airport and wanted to receive my car I was told that this amount doesn't cover the insurance, so I was told that I have to pay $400 extra and I agreed. When I returned the car they insisted that the invoice will be sent to my e mail so I couldn't see exactly what they are charging me. Couple of days after I left Israel I shocked that they charged me $1559. I tried to contact them and sent them e mails asking them for a detailed invoice but they never got back to me. HERTZ israel is a Scam
RUN AWAY from Hertz of Israel as fast as you can!
Israel is such a gorgeous place to visit, but I have one word of advice: RUN AWAY from Hertz of Israel as fast as you can!
Listen up, folks, I'm here to save you from a world of trouble. Whatever you do, DO NOT rent a car from Herz Israel! These guys are masters of deception, using shady tactics to squeeze every last penny out of unsuspecting customers like you and me.
Let me give you an example of their conniving ways. Picture this: you arrive at their office, and with a big, deceitful smile, they tell you not to worry about returning the car with a full tank of gas. They claim their fuel is cheaper than anywhere else, so you can just bring it back partially filled. But guess what? They charge you an arm and a leg for that fuel and slap you with an airport tax on top of it! Can you believe the nerve?
Kesher (Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar) is the epitome of why car rental companies have such a lousy reputation. Seriously, every single car they offer in Israel looks like it's been used as a bumper car. It's all beat up with scratches and dents. And the best part? They'll blame YOU for the damages that were already there before you even laid eyes on the car! If you ever find yourself stuck with Kesher, take my advice: document everything with pictures or find another rental company to save yourself from the post-rental stress.
I cannot stress this enough: Hertz Israel is the worst company ever! They'll look you right in the eye and lie about the insurance, leaving you stuck with a policy you can never cancel. These guys are tourist scammers, plain and simple. Beware and stay far away! Avoid this company at all costs!
Oh, and let's not forget the outrageously high fee they charge for refueling the car. They tricked me into thinking it was a better deal to let them handle it because they supposedly pay lower gas taxes. But guess what? They milked me dry with their own gas prices, leaving me with a hefty bill. Trust me, it's a classic bait and switch maneuver. Don't fall for it. There are plenty of other reputable and honest rental companies out there. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of Hertz.
I can't even begin to describe how terrible my experience was. Reading all these horror stories about Hertz Israel makes me wonder how they're still allowed to operate. Seriously, I think I hold the record for the most ridiculously expensive gas fee in car rental history. It's no laughing matter.
When I returned the car, everything seemed fine. They didn't mention a word about the gas, even though the tank was full. But then, lo and behold, they hit me with a mind-boggling bill of $72! Can you believe it? And when I called to question their fuel policy, they just passed me around from one person to another. It was like a game of hot potato. The last guy I spoke to conveniently forgot how to speak English and simply hung up on me. They didn't even care when I called back with my Israeli friend on the line for support. They stubbornly insisted that the fee was for filling the tank themselves.
It's crystal clear that Hertz Israel, Ben Gurion has mastered the art of squeezing every last penny out of unsuspecting customers like us. It's practically criminal! They hide behind their bureaucratic tricks, knowing full well that foreigners in Israel have little power to fight back (unless, perhaps, you're American).
And let me tell you, I've heard countless horror stories from other victims of Hertz. It's time these stories come to light and expose the rampant corruption within
Kesher overcharged me
I rented a car for $715 on the contract. The car and service was good. But they charged my credit card for $808. A $93 excess charge! I complained but one year later I have had no response. I will take further action.
We rented a standard car for one week…
We rented a standard car for one week in November. Everything related to the rental went smoothly, including the car itself, pickup at the airport and drop off, and we haven't had any issues at all. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is the price - very steep - about $1667 for the week (including an additional driver and damage waiver), but it wasn't a surprise.
TOURIST SCAMMERS!
The worst company ever! People be careful! They will lie to your face about the insurance and you will never be able to cancel it! You can ask them for cancelation as much as you want, but if they got your credit card number, you are screwed! They charged me $1098 for literally nothing. They are tourist scammers. Be aware and very careful! Avoid this company by all means!!!
