BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
If your sources of income are like 95% of people and nothing about your situation varies from the norm, HFS is probably a great company. If you are retired and have income from different sources and they need to spend extra time with you outside of their portal, their customer service skills are TERRIBLE! I started working with Carrie Decker and when I would ask a question, I would get back a one liner and it would always be the next day and it would not include complete information. I asked for a supervisor and got back Ladina. I believe her information was more complete but directed me back to their beloved "portal". These people can't handle anything outside the lines at all and I am tired of dealing with them. It's too bad for them. If they don't want to make money on my loan, that is fine with me.

I would recommend
Great experience. Love the ability to play with the numbers to determine the payment terms (5,10,15years, etc.) to get to a monthly payment you are comfortable with. I also like the upfront transparency of the interest rate you qualified for. I would have rated HFS five stars if the loan process took less waiting time to process and the time it was in underwriting.

Poor Communication
Hello,
We have called our loan processor, Jasmine, several times and have not received a single callback. We are now into a two-week process, and our loan has been with underwriting for the past three days. Can someone please let us know how long underwriting typically takes and provide us with a status update?
The lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. We have been unable to get in touch with Jasmine despite multiple attempts, and at this point, the process has become more stressful than getting a mortgage.
We are paying over $1,000 to use HFS as our broker, and we expected a much higher level of customer service and communication. If Jasmine is unavailable, we would appreciate having another point of contact or speaking with a supervisor who can provide an update and answer our questions.
Please have someone contact us as soon as possible. Thank you.
