Our mission is cultivating Christian leaders to live virtuous lives of faith, hope and charity. We believe that children should be empowered to become the best version of themselves that God calls them to be. With the help of our friends, we hope to cultivate leadership and learning of the very impoverished children of Liberia and DRC. Through our efforts, these leaders will carry on the tasks in the future in the school, community and their own lives dedicated to the Lord and be EMPOWERED to live out the mission of Hearts, Hands and Hope for Africa. Hearts, Hands, and Hope for Africa was founded in 2025 to connect those who have big hearts in the USA to those in Liberia, west Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Using our hands, as teachers, founders and friends we will bring hope with education, medication and clean water. Our real work started with a story of refugees trying to get an education in Ghana as they were forced from their homes in Liberia. These refugees eventually returned to rebuild their homeland, but found many struggles awaited them. They had no jobs or income to provide basics for their families. This also meant that they had no ability to afford small school fees to send their children to school. With government school attendance not possible, someone needed to step-up to help these families. That someone was Pastor Johnny Wisdom Koigbli. He started a free school called The Promised Land Academy(PLA). We call that first "school" PLA 1.0. PLA 2.0 was built on a new site that was leased for six years before the landowner sent the school packing. The community of Duozohn came forward with land that could be cleared to establish a large, robust structure and campus called PLA 3.0. That is where we are now, in 2026. There are about 250 children enrolled every year. The work of Hearts, Hands and Hope for Africa is to fund the ongoing work of the Promised Land and seek the building of another school in DRC in the future.
