We had an Egyptian workshop with David for our mixed year 3/4 classes. David was fantastic! He was really passionate about his subject. His knowledge about Egyptians was incredible and the children were all really engaged. David even gave us an extra session to tell us about the Egyptian myths.
He was fantastic with the children and answered all of their questions. We really recommend him and can’t wait to book him again.

The session on the Ancient Greeks was incredibly hands-on and practical, which kept the children fully motivated and excited from start to finish. Highlights included the battle role-play, Ancient Greek games, and the scribe activity – all exceptionally delivered with every resource thoughtfully provided.
The children had a truly enjoyable experience and came away having learned so much. Thank you once again, Laura – we will definitely be booking Historic Workshops again in the future!

The children loved their day. It was really hands-on with lots of experiences for the children to get involved with. The leader was friendly and interesting and her resources were excellent! The childern learnt loads without even realizing it. Their favourite part of the day was definitely the battle, where they got to use 'spears' and shields.

An absolutely brilliant day for our Year 4 enjoying an Anglo Saxon Historic Workshop. The presenter was completely immersed in the role. She kept the children's attention and enthusiasm throughout all of the activities. Anglo Saxon life, fashion, battles, weapons, archaeology, food and more were investigated.

David's knowledge of the Maya was fantastic and he went above and beyond in sharing this with the children. The pretend human sacrifice was brilliant and a great way to capture their interest straightaway. David was brilliant with the children, he had them in the palm of his hand. Pottery, writing and maths activity was brilliant. Artefacts session could be explored deeper, it would have been nice for knowledge of the artefacts to be shared with the children or a booklet where they had to find out what their artefact was.

Thank you for delivering a brilliant Maya workshop for our children.
We absolutely loved the day. It was engaging, well-paced, and packed with varied activities that really captured the children’s interest. The hands-on approach, particularly the archaeological digging and Maya maths, sparked curiosity and discussion both during and after the workshop.
It also fitted perfectly with our curriculum intent, helping to deepen pupils’ understanding of ancient civilizations in a memorable and meaningful way. The workshop was a fantastic way to bring history to life.
Thank you again. We’d happily recommend you to other schools.

David looked spectacular and was incredibly knowledgeable. He kept our students engaged all day and they really enjoyed the variety of activities. We would very much like Henry VIII to oversee our lunchtimes every day!

We had the pleasure of inviting David into our school last week for the Kings and Queens workshop. Our Year 2 children are studying monarchs through British history and the activities they did (which were fully resourced by the workshop) were absolutely brilliant and the children loved every minute. David started his day by arriving to our celebration assembly as Henry VIII, and spent the whole day in role with the children - even eating his lunch with them using his own royal goblet and dagger. It was such a great day, and excellent value because the children were fully immersed in the experience from the moment they got to school to the moment they left to go home. We would really recommend David and the company to any schools looking to give their children and engaging day full of immersive learning.

We would definitely book another workshop with Historic Workshops.

We recently hosted Gareth for his World War II workshop from Historic Workshops, and it was an unforgettable experience for our pupils! From the moment the session began, Gareth brought history to life with an engaging, immersive, and thoroughly educational approach that captivated every child from Nursery to Year 6.
The workshop was brilliantly structured, combining fascinating historical content with hands-on activities that encouraged participation and critical thinking. Our learners particularly loved exploring genuine WWII artefacts, trying on replica uniform, and hearing real-life stories from the era—it made the events of the past feel real and relevant.
The presenter Gareth was outstanding: knowledgeable, passionate, and fantastic with the children. He struck the perfect balance between being informative and fun, adapting the content brilliantly for our classes from Nursery right through to Year 6. Every child came away buzzing with excitement and full of newfound knowledge, and many described it as the best workshop they’ve ever had!
We highly recommend Historic Workshops to any school looking to enrich their World War II topic. It was a thoroughly professional, high-quality experience that we’ll definitely be booking again! Thank you Gareth for making the VE Day 80th anniversary so incredibly special for us!
Our Year 3s had a fantastic time participating in the Roman Workshop. The resources and activities were excellent and very well organised. The Roman period was brought to life by Gareth who was very knowledgeable and took time to answer all of the children's questions. By the end of the day, every single child was talking enthusiastically about the facts and skills they had learnt. Fully recommend this workshop!
