Had a crew of two work for 4 hours to prep my backyard for sod. Showed up on time and worked diligently. Completed about what Eric & I thought could be done in that timeframe. Steve & Jacob did the hardest work and now I can finish off the easier and fulfilling task of laying down the sod. Friendly guys. Will hire them again!

Quick responses to email request. Very informed through entire process. Hard workers showed up on time, finished jobs requested early and actually took it upon themselves to use remaining time productively doing other small jobs around the yard. Highly recommend.

I sent an online request for help with weeding gardens on a Saturday and through emails, I was scheduled for the work on Monday. Crew was prompt, polite and did a great job. I would definitely hire His Workmanship again.

All instructions of how much I would be charged were very clear. The workers came on time and did a great job. I highly recommend this company. I have used them twice.

I initially scheduled work with this company, but had to reschedule due to my daughter's illness and a subsequent doctor's appointment. Their contract, which is not signed, states there is a $90 fee for canceling work. While I understand the need for a cancellation fee, I was prepared to reschedule and pay the $300 bill, along with offering additional work if they performed well. However, Eric, a representative from the company, persistently contacted me at odd hours, pressuring me to pay the $90 fee. His behavior was unprofessional and unsettling, making me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I would not recommend working with this company based on my experience.

Prompt, pleasant and hard working.

I was a bit hesitant, but the crew arrived on time, got right to work and did not stop. I was blown away when I arrived home from work and saw the incredible job they had done. Not only did they clear all the weeds in the areas specified, they smoothed over the area when done, hauled the yard bags to the alley, I am slightly embarassed to admit they did a better job then I do!

The workers were excellent and got their work done in 75 minutes. Eric charged for three hours of labor and would not provide a partial refund. When I asked for a partial refund he said “No”. No explanation provided . Not very transparent with his pricing. Not a Christian organization

The guys worked fast and extremely efficiently- my yard looks great!

Second time I have used His Workmanship for a move. Both experiences were great. On this move Eric was quick to respond to my inquiry, helped me through the process, explaining billing as well as schedule. Eric also kept me updated through the entire process.Crew was Lucas and Dylan. They arrived on time, ready to go. They were very thoughtful, had good ideas how best to load truck with furniture, were very careful, no breaks or damage during load and unloading. Wrapped items that need protection. Pleasant, efficient, overall a great experience. I would hire again without thinking twice.

We used His Workmanship for "in home" moving of furniture to prepare for the installation of new windows throughout our home. Eric was extremely helpful and understanding in setting up a crew to meet our needs. The crew (Trent & Trevor) were punctual, friendly, professional, accommodating and extremely careful in handling all our furniture. We couldn't be more pleased and will definitely be using them again when another "need" arises.

I am very happy with the service that I had today with His Workmanship. The lead, Trevor, was very professional and friendly. I needed assistance with my front garden -- removing old shrubs, trimming bushes, overall weeding and clean up and placing mulch. Trevor and his helper did a wonderful job. I couldn't be happier with the experience - starting from the very beginning and working with Eric. I definitely recommend His Workmanship and will be contacting again for future service.

We have used His Workmanship 2 times with completely different experiences. The first could not have gone better! The crew was exceptional—such hard workers! With this in mind we had very high hopes for this recent visit; however, we could not be more disappointed. This crew did not seem to accomplish a whole lot in the 3 hours. Their work was sloppy—they left trimmings all over the porch and bed, and bushes were not cut cleanly (lots of uneven pieces sticking up). They did not even bring any equipment. The most frustrating part however was how things were handled from there. The His Workmanship website states very clearly that ALL email is answered within 24 hours—the owner, has always been quick to respond in terms of questions about coming out for a job, and yet, when we emailed him (2 times!) asking to discuss this recent less-than-stellar performance he completely ignored us! It’s been 2 weeks and no word whatsoever. This is unacceptable customer service! Sadly, it seems, they only respond when it profits them. If we could have had a simple conversation, the company might have kept our loyalty and business! As it stands we are upset and especially disheartened from this experience—this is NOT a good reflection of HIS workmanship!! We honestly chose this company because they stand apart as an upfront Christian organization. We really love what this is supposed to be based on! The whole premise of the company leads us to believe they have integrity and are a service that stands by its work, is trustworthy, and one that treats its customers fairly. How very disappointing to be treated otherwise. From this experience we would NOT recommend using this company!

We had a wonderful experience with Trent and Caleb. They worked well together and got the job done in the allotted time. Communication with Eric was superb. He let us know when the crew was coming and then quickly followed up afterwards. This is our 3rd time using His Workmanship and I will definitely use them again!

I hired His Workmanship to weed a 40-ft bed, dig up a dead shrub, and dig up another bed. It was a big job and I hired two guys for 6 hours apiece. After the job was done, I sent Eric an email:
"Hi Eric -
We have a bit of a problem. They guys were really nice and worked very hard and I tipped them each $20. However, when the trash crews arrived, they wouldn't take most of the bags, because they weighed more than 50 pounds. When I examined the contents of the bag, it turns out that there was more dirt than weeds.I couldn't even lift them. How can we solve this? I am planning to cover the bags with a tarp today, because we're expecting rain so that a bad situation won't get words. Please advise..."
The reply:
"The workers are unable to return unless you can come up with another 3 hours worth of work for 2 guys. Then during that paid shift, they can lower the weight of the bags by evenly distributing the weeds/dirt. For the record, Will and Marco would not have filled them so full and heavy had they known the city weight limits of Troy. Did you tell the workers not to fill them over a certain weight?"
My reply:

Happy Mother's Day. Hope you're enjoying a lovely day with your wife and mother.

Me? At 69 years old, turning 70 in August, I've spent the last 4 days trying to salvage some of my top soil, and when that proved to be impossible, my 4ft-9" daughter spent our day yesterday working together to drag fifteen 100+ pounds bags of soil (which we could not even lift together) to the nearby island to compost, losing all of our rich top soil. So here's how we did it: We wedged a dolly under the edge of a bag. We both had to grab it at the same time to maneuver it on the edge of the dolly. It took us both to tilt the dolly, it took us both to pull the dolly, it took us both to dump the dolly and peel off the lawn bags.

We're spending Mother's Day together nursing sore limbs and backs, thanks to you.

"His Workmanship"? Hardly. Quite the opposite as it turns out.

You not only owe me an apology, but a refund. It is NOT my job to ensure your workers do the job correctly, it is YOURS.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I bought the team to my home and they transformed the landscaping. I have some splitting and shrub removal to get done and they did it all. They worked steadily and were expert at their jobs.

Trent and Greg arrived on time and immediately went to work. They worked very diligently and their work was SUPERB !!!
They worked hard during the 3 hours, one rain even, and the islands in the front and back look soooooo magnificent now.
It was quite satisfying knowing that I got a job well done with no wasted time.
Thank you Eric, Trent and Greg….the grounds look WONDERFUL now.
This is money well spent.

I would give a 0 rating if this was an option. Save yourself some time and money and find a trustworthy company to work on your job.

In summary, I paid for bushes to be trimmed in my yard. The workers did not complete the job as I explained. I contacted Eric and asked that the workers come back to complete the job. Eric's immediate response was that it was my fault for not being home and he is not sending the workers back. I reminded Eric that I emailed him well ahead of time informing him I would not be home for the full duration of the job and asked to be rescheduled and his reply was "we don't need you onsite the whole timeframe. If you could get the crew started at 3pm on May 3rd, that would be great." I asked him why he told me I didn't need to be home if he was going to have a problem with this, but I received no response. Eric also accused me of wanting the workers to come back and work for free. I reminded him that I paid him upfront for the work, however they did not complete the job. Again, there was no response. I now have oddly shaped bushes and will have to find someone else to complete the work.

Eric does not have a phone number on his website. He only communicates by email. I asked to talk to him rather than back and forth email and he refused. Be wary of what Eric tells you. He is not professional and his first response is to blame the customer when there are issues. I DO NOT recommend doing business with this company.

I was informed of what to expect every step of the way which was greatly appreciated. The guys were hard-working and very cordial. The job I started them on was enormous and they were almost able to finish it off. I wish I had taken before and after pictures.

I had multiple plants (mainly decorative grasses) I wanted dug up as well as about five large saplings, up to 12 feet tall. I did not expect everything to get done as it was a huge project and the ground was relatively hard. I was amazed at how hard the two young men worked without ceasing during their three hours at my home. They not only accomplished what I hoped might be done but way more. They cleaned up parts of the yard I didn't even ask them to do. They were very personable and professional, always asking if they missed anything or if there was something else they could do. I will hire His Workmanship again whenever I need fall clean-up (as I did two years ago) or tougher jobs like this year.
