I contacted Holmes Carpets for a quote to sand, stain and revarnish our downstairs floors. All the members of their staff were professional and courteous and were very friendly. The whole process, from the quote, to initial evaluation to the job was clear and easy. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family, and would work with them again if I ever needed their services.

The only thing I would recommend that they do is provide more of a consultation role. I had no knowledge of the stain types that they offer, having to previous experience with flooring, and this could have been explained more to me i.e. have clear swatches to indicate the colour choices, and maybe recommend the best colour based on the light in the house, etc.
On the day they were meant to stain the floor, there was a miscommunication and a belief that I wanted a regular stain, when it fact this wasn't discussed at length and agreed upon. It was not a massive deal in the end, but I did feel a little rushed and unprepared for the decision.

I've used the company to fit the carpets in my old and my new house and both times I was very happy with the service.

They are a very busy so it takes a long time to get them to the site to do the job. When the job is done, it is a good just but just takes time to get done.
