Booker beware. Think long and hard before booking with Holmfirth Vineyard.

In August 2025, I booked an overnight stay for my husband’s birthday in April 2026. I paid the requested deposit and received their confirmation email. On the strength of this, I bought Christmas gifts linked to the trip, had a personalised invitation designed and even arranged dog-sitters. Everything was planned around this date.
Then in November, out of nowhere, I received an abrupt email informing me that my booking was being cancelled because they’d taken a wedding party instead. A token offer of two bottles of wine and they gave me the option to “move” my booking. When I tried to work with them, explaining all the arrangements I had made, their solution was to offer me June 2026 — months after the original date and completely useless for the occasion.
My impression was that they were far more interested in maximising income than in honouring existing bookings or treating customers fairly. As for customer service… I genuinely don’t know if they understand the meaning of the phrase.
In the end, I cancelled.
An absolutely disgraceful experience with an utterly disappointing company
