Avoid Hombli at all costs

Avoid Hombli at all costs. I have purchased several of their products, and they are consistently unreliable. It's low-quality hardware. So far, two batteries have failed due to weather conditions. Additionally, I have a lamp with inconsistent color temperature (too yellow) and a security camera with abysmal battery life—needing a charge every three weeks despite their claims. This is the worst quality equipment on the market. Save your money and stay away

Defective litterbox, AI customer service & deleting reviews.

Helaas hebben wij een zeer negatieve ervaring gehad met dit bedrijf. Toen wij na 2 weken problemen kregen met hun electrische kattenbak hoopte wij op een professionele en zorgvuldige afhandeling. In plaats daarvan kregen we een standaardantwoord dat duidelijk door AI gegenereerd leek te zijn en totaal niet inging op de inhoud van mijn klacht. Serieuze klachten als dat de sensor niet reageerde op onze katten bleven zelfs onbeantwoord. Dat gaf ons het gevoel dat mijn probleem niet serieus werd genomen. Nog zorgwekkender is dat nadat wij een 1 ster review hebben achter gelaten op de website van Hombli, deze nu een aantal maanden later nergens meer te vinden is en wanneer wij deze opnieuw plaatsen komt deze ook niet op de website. Dus vandaar posten wij de eerlijke review nu op Trustpilot.

I had pre-ordered the litter box shortly after pre-orders opened and received it in mid-October. Within less than 2 weeks we ran into many issues: daily urine leakage, defective sensor, motor fault and all litter falling into the garbage bag. The defective sensor meant that the drum would keep rotating even when one of my cats would go near or inside the litter box.

I reached out to Hombli via email and provided a lot of details including photos and videos of the defects. I even managed to record a video showing the defective sensor and all the litter falling into the garbage bag. Instead of replying to the concerns, the only reply I received was them asking me what type of cat litter I use. This is completely irrelevant to all the other issues I mentioned. Even after explicitly asking them to reply to the issues, they never did and have not to this day.

I asked Hombli if they could first send a new litter box so that I would have a box to ship the defective litter box back in, and they wouldn't do that. I asked if they could send me an empty box to ship it back, they still wouldn't do that. At this point I had bought puppy training pads for the urine leakage and a new bag of litter because all the litter had fell into the garbage bag twice already. Now Hombli is also expecting me to buy a temporary litter box for my cats, and take care of finding a huge shipping box myself.

The litter box was defective, I have proven this many times and they still wouldn't budge. I decided to give them an ultimatum: either they first send me a new litter box, or I return everything for a full refund. They kept saying they wouldn't be able to refund me, even though the product was showing a very serious defect (not-working sensor) on top of all the other defects. I decided to ship everything back myself and shortly after opened a case with PayPal because I had absolutely no trust in Hombli refunding me the money.

A couple days after my return shipment arrived, I received an email from Hombli telling me they developed a rubber border to prevent urine leakage and asking if they could send it to me. I had no idea why they would email me this considering I already let them know I have returned the litter box and cancelled the purchase agreement. That's when I decided to run all their emails to me through an AI-detector.

Turns out, out of the 9 emails Hombli has sent to me, 6 of them were detected as 100% AI-generated and 1 as 72% AI-generated. The tool I used (QuillBot) is reliable since it detected my own emails, which I wrote myself, as 100% Human-written.

Today, PayPal has decided to close the case in my favor and refunded me the entire order. The last thing I heard from Hombli was them confirming that the litter box is defective and they would see if it's possible to refund me and that they would get back to me. They never got back to me.

I was a huge Hombli fan. In total I still have 17 Hombli devices in-use which work great, but I will never be purchasing any new Hombli devices in the future.

Let this be a warning to everyone that if you run into any issues with your litter box, don't expect good customer service.

Delighted with Hombli

I have several Hombli infrared panels which are excellent and definitely save me money on my heating but it is the customer service that I have had from Hombli on several occasions that has gone above and beyond. I will continue to use this company and recommend them wholeheartedly.

I have replaced my old Arlo camera…

I have replaced my old Arlo camera system to 4 x Hombli Solar Cam 2k. But must admit that what I thought would be a great update is unfortunately a system that has some issues:
•WiFi receiver is not good, the Hombli cameras looses connection constantly, was never an issue with Arlo.
•Setting the area for notifications is not “fully” customised, only possible to adjust rectangular.
•Cloud recordings - not possible to record before a motion is detected. Arlo could be set to take 5-10 sek before detection and after.

Overall the system works, but I’m missing more personal settings options.

Great customer service

Great customer service. My doorbell stopped working suddenly after only a couple of years. I got in contact with customer support and sent my doorbell back to them. They did some tests and found it was defective, and sent me a new one right away.
Super happy with how they handled the situation

I'd never buy another Hombili product again

I had a large panel heater which worked for 10 months then broke, luckily (or so I thought) was still under warrenty. They tried to say I only sent the feet back, even though the courier took a photo. Luckily for me I bought it from a very reputable company selling on their behalf, and they gave me a full refund, and when I read other reviews others had problems with returns. I will never buy another Hombili product knowing by experience their returns/refunds are next to none, none being the operative word. The 2*'s are for the brief time it worked.

Power strips Hombli defective, replacements defective, no refund

I purchased two power strips Hombli, but both were defective. After multiple replacements(3), which also turned out to be defective, I received the same defective strips back. I recognized them by the small black lines I marked near the screw holes at the bottom.
After two months of intensive email communication, with photo and video evidence showing the defects, there is still no resolution. The videos clearly show the non-functioning power strips, despite the supplier's claim that they work.I filed a complaint with PayPal, but it was rejected because the purchase was over a month ago. Additionally, I have received no response from Hombli. The service has been poor. Product also bad.

The issue you are having seems to be across a great many power strips, and we have been working with you to find out why you are experiencing this issue. We were aware the issue was not resolved yet, and were fully cooperating with you to come to a satisfactory conclusion. The hope was that we would be able to find the common factor causing this issue for you, as the returned power strips seemed to be working fine for us. Like I wrote to you; the problem must be somewhere in the combination of devices, but I understand if you do not want to wait for further research into the matter, and a return/refund procedure was offered.

Refused to send missing parts from the heater box

So I bought an infrared heater from these people. The mounting template, instructions and screws were missing from the box. They point blanked refused to send me the missing parts. Said it was too expensive to do so and too much hassle. It’s just a bit of paper, 4 screws and 4 plugs. I’d have accepted just the bit of paper. Sending a letter doesn’t cost that much. What kind of company refuses to send missing parts out? Fat lot of good this heater is to me now. I can’t wall hang it.

So I’d avoid buying anything from them. Because if the item developed faults I would say you are on your own!

At one point they said they’d email me something and to use a ruler. Again they failed. Didn’t.

I just want to be able to wall hang it. I need the template to get the holes in the correct place. Not much to ask.

If you have young children. Don’t buy the glass infrared heater. It gets that hot a child would burn their hands on it if they touched it. Pets would hurt their noses if they brushed against it.

See - response as useful as a chocolate teapot. It proves they won’t help. I need the proper wall mount template and screws and plugs. They just refuse to send them. They should replace the missing items from the box. It’s like getting a chest of drawers with no drawers. A car without wheels….

AVOID THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!

So had to buy another one to get the template. All it was WAS an A4 flimsy bit of paper! So why couldn’t they have sent me this? AN ABSOLUTELY AWFUL COMPANY AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I brought a hombli smart indoor camera…

I brought a hombli smart indoor camera and has not been able to connect the device. I wrote very specific the problem to your support mail with reference to ticket number 743800599. I got a standard answer where you clearly did not answer my original mail. I did already tried all the suggestions you wrote in your standard answer and it didn't help. I will not suggest any other to buy your product unless you are absolutely sure your router can connect to your devices.

Competent and speedy service

I bought a set of smart outdoor lamps and got in touch with hombli support over one of the connection cables being defect. Response was very fast & competent, and I received a replacement cable within about a week. Good experience with customer support!
