My animals have been registered with HomeAgain since 2014 and 2021 respectively. I tried to login to pay that "annual fee" they made me think was mandatory to find that my account has NO PETS listed underneath it any longer. I'm more angry that my pets have not been covered for God knows how long than for paying for that stupid unnecessary fee. Did you know they are part of a class action lawsuit? Look it up.
My vet implanted and registered my and my son's dog with a HomeAgain microchip in 2017. This week when I called HomeAgain to try to locate our dog, HomeAgain repeatedly told me I was not the owner of the dog with that chip number, the name of the dog was different, and my contact info was not on the account and has never been on the account. HomeAgain repeatedly said another woman with different contact info and a different dog's name has been listed as the owner since 2017 and is the only owner that was ever on the account. My vet sent the chip number with my name, contact info, my dog's name, and the date the chip was implanted to HomeAgain, but HomeAgain continued to say my name and contact info have never been on this chip number. Then, I found a 2018 email from HomeAgain reminding me to renew "[my dog's name]" membership, under that exact microchip number. I forwarded it; HomeAgain hasn't responded to my email. I've no doubt I'm not the first person this has happened to. Please write a review if this has happened to you or someone you know. I don't know if my son will ever see his dog again. If our dog is scanned, my info will not be associated with the chip number that I paid to protect our dog.
Customer service is non existent. You better off getting a collar with pet's name and owner's phone number on it. They do not respond no matter how you contact them (phone, email, social media). I am honestly surprised, this company is still in business. If I could give it zero stars I would. And I, definitely, would not count on them.
I have called them and left messages to call back numerous times and heard nothing. I have messaged them and heard nothing. The only time that I talked to someone was when I pretended to be a veterinarian clinic making an order. Not impressed, it is a scam.
Same issues as everyone else. Zero customer support. Sent emails and called over 10 times. Nothing.
I had five cats registered with them, then one of them passed away and wanted to update the site and couldn't get in. My password stopped working. Tried the reset password dozens of times, the reset email never came. Been trying for at least two years. Now I have two kittens I just got chipped. Tried calling - never got anyone or a callback. Still trying to reset the password, email never comes. Finally used the form on the web site to ask if I had to create another account to register the chips for my kittens. I think I just might need to create another account. No customer service so far.
Dec 12, 2023 update: Tried to create another account with another email address. The email verification email never came.
Pet was chipped with HomeAgain by Banfield Hospital. HomeAgain never registered the chip. Banfield was not able to reach HomeAgain as well. It has been 8 months no reply. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE, ONLY SICKENING MUSIC. If your pet is lost, HomeAgain will not be able to confirm your pet registration.
Awful company. My pet passed away and they refuse to refund my subscription.
Phone wait times are insane no matter when you call. No way to transfer a pet online, so you have to call. Will be using another service.
Changing this to 4 stars as I actually got a call back from them and they actually helped and made the necessary corrections please note this was the 3rd attempt.
The worst customer service ever!! Have called numerous times left messages to pay the chip fee and nothing. Not even the promise to pay if they callback 🤣. My new kitty will never get registered at this point. The shelter must be inundated with calls about these morons. What a hoax
My newly adopted kitten came chipped with this service. Like a lot of others I had trouble registering online and it said to call. I called and no one ever picked up, just some automated message playing over and over again for 12 minutes before asking me to leave info and claiming that I'd be called back. I ended up going to another service. Why did my local animal shelter go with this service?
(edit) Bumping it up from 1 star to 3 stars.. After emailing my local animal shelter I tried one last time to call HomeAgain and finally got to talk to a live agent who was very polite and helpful. Even so, this has been a frustrating experience.
Impossible to get a hold of. I’ve left 3+ messages, have called over 10 times, have waited 20+ min each time to NEVER be able to speak to a representative. I have even attempted speaking to someone in Spanish but they never have representatives available in Spanish either. At this rate I’ll never get my rescue pup’s microchip registered. Total scam of a company.
Well, after reading the 91% of negative comments I don't have much more to say other than this company stinks! They must have some scam going on with the veterinary industry as that is how I got scammed into using Home Again.
If you take your new pup to your vet and they suggest having a chip installed don't walk away run!
literally impossible to get ahold of.
I need to get my pet registered, and it doesn't work on the website for whatever reason. it says I have to call in to complete it. I have called 5x over the last week waiting for 20-60 minutes. all during regular business hours. nobody has ever answered... ever. it seems others have the same issue.
They lost renewal on one pet last year and kept telling me it hadn't been paid even though I was looking at the cancelled check. Took 2 months to get that resolved. This year, we got a new pet and got it chipped and they have not put the other pet into the system despite it being chipped in January. Then would not let me access medical help for another pet that had an active profile because they showed that one pet is not payed. Have called repeatedly and you can never get a human- they only respond by email or not at all. Would not recommend getting your pet chipped by this company!
I want a human to call me back. I have called 5 times plus emails and the pet hospital has called also. They have you on hold for 20 min then say leave a detail message. Cannot register my pet to my account that I pay for. Registration number claims doesn't exist and the vet says it's all registered. Does anyone work these days? Not a reputable company completely disgusted they take your membership but do nothing!!!
i have not been able to reach anyone!!! i have called on different day, and on multiple occasions. I have also emailed and left messages!!!
can someone please tell me if you have trouble finding the Chip # to register???
No number found as i try to register!!!
I agree with all the negative reviews on here. Their customer "service" is dreadful. On hold for ages, then you're told to leave a message... and you never hear back from them. Repeated calls get the same treatment.
If I could give a half a star, I would. This company does not return calls as promised. Oddly when they give you the option to call you back. They don't use the touchtone system, they use the voice system. You have to say your name, your animals name, the microchip number, the address, the email what's next blood type? I have one question about my bill. One question I have asked repeatedly over the last two weeks, on their antiquated system for them to call me back. Or email me or how about a carrier pigeon? Telegram? I am so frustrated. So I am going to write them a letter. An actual letter not an email. We'll see what happens after that. initially when I signed up with them years ago, they were on top of things, either they are having a lot of financial issues and cannot hire enough people to man the phones, or they just flat don't care about their clients like they say they do.
24/7 customer service is a lie! They don’t answer the phone. After spending more than 12 minutes on hold waiting for somebody, they make an automated message for you to leave information that you may or may not have with no recourse whatsoever. You will not talk to them I would never recommend their service.
