Complaint Category: Deceptive Billing Practices.
Desired Resolution: Full Refund & Billing Cancellation
Detailed Description of the Consumer Complaint:
I am filing this complaint against Homeaglow due to predatory billing practices, unauthorized account withdrawals, and property damage.
A few months ago, I hired Homeaglow for a studio cleaning. During the online booking process, I explicitly selected the option for a "One-Time Service." I also verbally confirmed with the cleaner who arrived that this was a single, one-time job.
The service provided was deeply substandard and resulted in property damage. The cleaner left noticeable grime on the windows, floors, interior doors, and cabinets. Worse, she completely ruined my mattress by pouring dirty water onto it.
The following month, I received a call from a second Homeaglow cleaner. I immediately informed her that I had explicitly ordered a one-time service and did not have a subscription. Despite this clear, repeated communication, Homeaglow has fraudulently withdrawn $59 from my bank account for the last two consecutive months.
I responded to their email correspondence stating clearly that these withdrawals were unauthorized theft for services never provided. They ignored my communication and pushed through another unauthorized charge this month.
Homeaglow is intentionally retaining consumer payment information to force recurring monthly fees onto customers who explicitly opted out of them. I demand an immediate cancellation of any account tied to my name, a full refund of all unauthorized $59 charges, and compensation for my damaged mattress.
I even have them in email telling them to cancel me out and them sending me a response clearly stating that it was cancelled and yet they still went ahead and withdrawn $59 for the second time.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. They market this low charge for cleaning your place. You have to fill out this form and they sneakily sign you up to a membership, even though you think you’ve opted out of it.
I just got hit with a $59 charge. So I went to reach out to their customer service and there is no way of reaching anyone. You have to submit a ticket and then they tell you that they’ll get back to you in 3-4 days. I signed into the account and I found. That they signed me up to a 6-month forever cleaning service membership.
I go to cancel and if I cancel, it’s $113 and some change that’s charged to my card.
I’m filing a fraud claim for this because this is a predatory practice where they purposefully hide this hidden fee that you don’t sign up for with your consent.
Don’t go with this company. The headache is not worth it and you’ll have to fight to get your money back.

I showed the young lady what needed cleaning and dusting, which was not a lot! She went to her car for cleaning supplies and drove off! I received an EMAIL stating the cancellation, and had the audacity to say I could reschedule, (great communication) and use my
$79.00 towards the next appt. ANYTHING THAT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, BELIEVE IT!!

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!!! SCAM!!!! They offer an initial one-time cleaning fee of $19 but if you try to cancel, they will reinstate the full price of that initial discounted visit. Not to mention that it is exceedingly difficult to cancel.

I wish I had read the reviews before I signed up. Definitely a scam and they do not stand behind their service. I was charge $100 for this scam cleaner to wipe my counters… they say you save money with a subscription but you do not. You are still paying the standard rate of 50/60 an hour. I only gave them permission to charge one card but they have sent various charges to any card I e submitted a payment to. Very shady company.

I am extremely disappointed with Homeaglow. Over $300 was taken from my account for services I did not receive, and after reaching out for help, I was only refunded $49. As a single mother, unexpected charges like this create real financial hardship, and I trusted this company to be transparent and fair.
What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of accountability and customer care shown throughout this process. No customer should have to fight this hard to get their money back for services they never received.
I was once a loyal customer, but after this experience, I will not be using Homeaglow again. I hope this review encourages the company to improve how they handle billing issues and treat their customers with more compassion and fairness.
I was searching for a move out clean over a month ago. Since then, I get multiple back to back sales calls and text messages.i am blocking 1-2 numbers and reporting as spam every day. I have emailed customer service to add me to do not call list. If you're lonely and want non-stop sales people from all different area codes, give them your number. If not, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR NUMBER. They are also in lawsuit for false advertising of their $19 price that they are STILL using to scam people.
Please everyone do not get sucked into a contract with Homeaglow they are disgusting it’s a big scam!! They just hire anyone. They have no real cleaners on their site don’t hire , don’t book , I’m trying to save you

I wish I could give 0 stars to this jokers this “company” is the real definition of disrespect to clients and independent contractors this “company” are real scammers thief’s and disrespectful. Playing with peoples money and small business futures. They have no business being open and operating. I wish nothing to this “company” but the worst. Someone needs to close them! Their cancellations service and subscriptions are all scams!!!
They only have one cleaner in my area. She did a great job but when she could no longer clean, they kept charging me the subscription fee even though they didn't have any cleaners in my area. I had to dispute the charge through my credit card. Seems very scammy because there is no way to contact them or cancel because they didn't have a cleaner. I was charged multiple weeks even though they couldn't find a cleaner.
Worst company I've dealt with in my life. The business model is a scam, employees harass you incessantly, cleaners cancel more often than they show up, and customer service is a complete joke. I received a message from my cleaner's account at 4am the morning of my first cleaning of someone warning me that she was high on meth and would probably rob me blind, and I was still charged a cancellation fee. Plenty more I could say, but I'm too traumatized. The fact that you have to give at least one star is a travesty.
Mediocre.
The first session was six hours. They did a 6/10 clean. I only signed up for two hours monthly for the remaining five months.
Each month they kept adding hours to the two hours, which I had to keep switching back to two hours. Plus their workers were rarely on time. I sign up for the first appt. of the day for this reason. Being retired military, I'm a stickler for puntuality.
One of their workers was actually on time, but he quit to begin his own business.
Today's cleaner texted me at 0547 asking if showing up 2.5 hours late was okay? They then sent another text at 0700 saying they'd be here at 0900, even though they're supposed to be here at 0800, which I told then was unacceptable. They then wanted to charge me $40 because I disagreed with them being an hour late!
Since my last cleaner was unable to be on time, I cleaned my kitchen myself today. When I went to mop the floor, I noticed my spin mop was missing. The last cleaner must have taken it with them.
Sadly, I tried this service.
I did not have a good experience. In the time the cleaner was here, the cleaner only cleaned 9 of my 18 windows. She did not complete any other task. Instead of 3 hours, she only stayed 2.5 hours. When I went to check her work, I the windows had been left open during the rain storm, causing some damage. I requested that homaglow refund my money, and stop the service without the fee. They are refuse. They charged me 105 when I canceled, despite their failure to hold up their end of the contract to provide 3 hours of cleaning. I contacted them several times and they send me links to their policies, which I understand. However, they did not fulfil their end of the contract. Also, they keep charging my credit card a monthly subscription. My bank is not doing charge backs to them as they did not deliver the service promised. They say contact them, but they aren’t interested in resolving anything. Check out all the reviews on BBB. Many similar issues are reported.

This is a scam of a company. advertised a $19 one time cleaning fee, thenapparently enrolls you in a $59/ month service fee whether you use them or not. Then they make it impossible to cancel. thousands of consumer complaints. not a BBB approved company. Stay away. then a $140 cancellation fee. see you in court home glow

THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER FOR HOMEAGLOW. The easiest way to cancel? Cancel your card.
Are you kidding me? Who doesn't have a phone? I see school kids with phones. This is a scam. I emailed Homeaglow, and they said we don't have the manpower to have a phone.
I booked the promo cleaning you see on the commercials. Time after time, the cleaner would text and say, "I don't work that day, I don't work weekends, I am not available, I have a personal appointment, or " Can we take this offline so I get more money?" I rescheduled multiple times, and you get texts. Someone apparently came by, and homeaglow took my money. I wasn't even aware until my credit card was charged a 100+ recurring fee. My credit card called me to ask if I made the purchase. I said absolutely not. They declined it for me. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. Check your statements folks!

Cleaner arrived 6 hours late with a text stating ‘sorry I woke up late’. So, our Friday night was spent with two toddlers moving around the house trying to dodge the cleaner (not the Mother’s Day gift we had planned). We had paid for 4 hours of service, specifying a few requests and our cleaner left after 2 hours. Windowsills still had dirt, mirrors left with children’s handprints all over, many of the requests were incomplete. Would be insane to use this company.
Edit: the company have since returned my calls and organized a replacement service with a different cleaner. Will update when this happens.

The first and worst experience with Homeglow. They took my $90 away like steal. I emailed them 7am that my daughter got sick and not able to make 11.00am appointments and no one ever respond for that. They said I am lockout and charge full amount without agree. They say “ company policy”. The cleaner came to our door said must let them know 2 hours, yes I did and they don’t care my daughter got fever and need to see doctor, the only attitude I see on her face was really mad at me. I tried to call: not work, message not work and email also not work.

Worst company and no customer service support about the charges they are making. Never mentioned about recurring $59 every month. Instead of one fee they keep adding $32+59 for another $60. You won't get any answers, don't have any support, no reply to your message or call or email. On the top of it the first service cleaning lady said, if she really cleans well, then it will under value her service so I shouldn't expect any better service.

Only reason I’m giving one star is because they make you give something to leave a review. But this company doesn’t even deserve a one star. They are awful and I suggest to everyone I can that they do not use them. For starters there is no using them once. YOUR LOCKED INTO A CONTRACT FOR MONTHS ON END ONCE YOU SIGN UP EVEN FOR JUST A SINGLE CLEANING. Try to get ahold of someone to talk to about issues, that will never happen. They have zero customer support. No phone number at all. They will email but it takes days for a response. You never actually interact with a human about concerns. I had a cleaning schedule and the cleaner never showed up never called nothing. They charged me anyway. I had to fight the Credit Card company for my money back. Then because it was so disappointing and frustrating I decided to cancel. They charged me $175 to cancel. Be aware of this shady company and do not use their services. Oh and it was not a good cleaning I had to still do thing behind them that weren’t done. Of course it would be that way because who cares no one to call and tell your concerns to. No one at this company really cares about the customers. ITS A SCAM!!

I was very much let down by Homeaglow. Like many people, I got dragged into the 6 month contract. While my initial cleaner was great and very detail oriented, I was then given a cleaner multiple times who would ignore my requests for a basic clean and instead spend 3 hours reorganizing my space and moving furniture and not do basic cleaning that I asked for like cleaning the bathroom.
