Do not book through H4G!

Thought we booked in CND dollars through Expedia. Went through H4G and was much pricier and in EURO. We tried to cancel the booking once we realized tge booking was now more expensive and in Euro but there is a no cancelation policy so we would have been charged a cancelation fee. We went ahead with tge booking with the loft in Arucus, Grand Canaria. It was not as described. Did not have outside space, deck and fenced yard. Unbelievably the free parking was inside the "loft". We shared a damp garage with our rental car and a slip shod attempt at "cozy loft". Smelly, noisy, no outside space. Garage door with remote as door to come and go. When we complained and asked for refund H4G changed the listing to say "cozy car loft". They refused to return any funds despite being ingenious about the rental space. Do not go through these guys...they are good at taking your money but very poor in reverse.

WARNING!!!

WARNING!!!! This is a number 1 scam company. Quick in keeping contact when they want downpayment and the last payment. For the rest you are met with silence when trying to get in contact with them. They canceled my booking of a house 10 days before arrival. A trip booked during Christmas and New year. A booking i made in June and they asured me it was secured, they just canceled the 10th of December. I can write a book about this whole issue but i have already spend so many hours trying to solve the matter. My luck was that i did book thru Booking and therefore i could get my money back. Im rather sure the money would be gone if booking directly with this scam company. This kind of companies should be off the market and i hope Booking take action to remove them from Bookings website. Home for guest ruined my family trip that was supposed to be a 60 year celebration filled with joy, not frustration.

Scammers

Terrible business with terrible customer service, or just scammers?

They took my deposit a month ago and are still refusing to return it or even engage with me. They cite 'accounting difficulties' as the reason— these accounting difficulties have now lasted four weeks, but I bet during that time they have had no difficulties accepting payments for their apartments.

You give them any money as a deposit, even through a third party like Booking.com, you will not see it again.

Noisy dump

This company and the property they've let us are not fit for purpose.

1. False Advertising: The apartment was advertised as "soundproof," but this is not the case. Loud music from a neighbouring unit persisted throughout the evening, even penetrating earplugs, significantly disrupting our stay.
2. Unhygienic and Uncomfortable Conditions: The apartment has a musty smell, lacks proper ventilation (no external window, only a high, inaccessible internal window), and is minimally decorated, creating a prison-like environment.
3. Safety Concerns: There is no fire alarm in the apartment, which poses a serious safety risk.
4. Inconvenient Check-In Process: The check-in location was at a bus station 40 minutes away by bus, which was not clearly disclosed during booking.
We reported the noise issue immediately but did not receive a response until several hours later, when the response came it was heartless and told us to refer to their refund policy which isn't available and they've now told us they'll send tomorrow.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE CHARALATANS, IT'S RUINED OUR HOLIDAY AND WILL RUIN YOURS TOO.

THIS IS A SCAM.

THIS IS A SCAM.. Any reviews stating people have actually stayed with this crowd have to be made up. I am fighting with banks for 10 months now to get a refund. This company will just ignore you and run off with your cash. Do not book with them. How they are still listed is a joke. Don't be lying in your response. give me your name and details and i will contact you directly. Provide 1 and an address for your business headquarters as it is non existant. Edit: Sent emails and no response. Liars. A week later and still hiding after i sent emails. A PURE SCAM. You thought you would scare me off with your accusation claims but no response. Don't worry we are coming for you.

Most of our reservations are made through big platforms such as Booking or Airbnb and refunds are processed by them. Save yourself this experience and book somewhere else.

We stayed in the loft in tenerife. The loft itself looks nice, but the location is not recommended. A narrow street to enter from, so you hear a lot of cars honking and the area is full of barking dogs. Communication started well, only from the point that things went wrong and we had indicated that we wanted a proper solution, it ended. We were ignored and that to me is the worst thing you can do as an organization. Then we got our deposit back a month late and after many messages. Save yourself this experience and book somewhere else.

Horrible communication and check-in…

Horrible communication and check-in experience. Be very careful with this vacation rental agency. My mum arrived at her rental apartment in Las Palmas at 10pm. The electronic lock was not working (due to a technical issue), but when she reported it at 22:02 pm, they refused to help her because they only work until 22:00 pm. So she could not enter the apartment she had booked and paid for. The next morning they did not even apologize and just pretended as nothing had happened.

Booked and cancelled a 2 bed apartment…

Booked and cancelled a 2 bed apartment in Caleta de Fuste. Booked it beforevreading the reviews....big mistake!
Cancellation was confirmed to was just waiting for our deposit back. That was October 14th! After numerous messages via VRBO and a couple of acknowledgement replies I am still waiting for my £501 to be returned. I understand the cancellation policy states money will be returned within 7 days. Thats a flipping laugh! Steer well
clear of this company.

Failure to refund Security Deposit without reason

It is now 6 weeks since leaving the property, I have chased Homeforguest repeatedly to refund the security deposit, they have not responded despite lots of emails and 3 calls. There is no reason for them not to pay it back, they have not told me there is anything wrong.

I'm told Ana Vega is the Manager and she will deal with it, she is not in every time I call, and still nothing. This is THEFT - DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. I am now looking at legal action to recover the funds

Absolutely terrible company.

Absolutely terrible company.

Avoid at all costs.

Booked via Vrbo. Apartment in Fuerteventura.

Keys were just dumped outside had to wait at a locked gate to get into the complex
Mouldy bedroom which was completely inhabitable and forced us to sleep in the sitting room.
Flooded shower / room
Unable to open shower window
Broken fridge
Broken door handle (having to climb through window)
Snapped outside chair
Outside area covered in dirt and concrete
No access to toilet outside of the room
2 towels for 4 people
2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people and 4 days.

We contacted the company multiple times and had no response.

As we left they just sent in painters to paint over the mould.

VERY UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY AND FILTHY, RUN DOWN APARTMENT

We booked with them unkowingly through VRBO. They fronted up as an owner but they are actually a management company with several apartments at Alisios Playa Fuerteventura.

The apartment was a filthy dirty dump. Home for Guest did nothing to resolve our numerous complaints during our holiday.

Ignored emails, no staff to talk to and they will only (sometimes) respond through Whatsapp so they don't leave a communications trail I suspect.

Complaned formally when we got back from Alisios Playa and Home for Guest said they would give me a partial refund, but only if I lied and left them a positive review on Google and VRBO. I will not lie!

I have reported the to VRBO.

Please do not have anything to do with these money grabbing rogues - you will most probably regret it!

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. They have a free cancellation policy which they are happy to honour. However don’t expect them to return your fully refundable deposit as they just keep ignoring emails, WhatsApp messages, bank disputes, etc. Must be great keeping a company afloat with stolen money.

We cannot fault Homeforguests

We cannot fault Homeforguests. Check-in was a little time consuming but not a big issue. Everything went smoothly. Ana and Alexandra were very helpful. Both our apartment and location were great and we enjoyed a lovely holiday. We would definitely use them again…
Update… I have only just read the previous negative reviews and I felt I had to update my post as I’m truly amazed. I am not at all doubting what they say but their experience was very different to ours.
I can honestly say our apartment was possibly the cleanest we have ever stayed in and I am very particular when it comes to cleanlinesses, it was absolutely spotless.
We didn’t have to meet anyone, the keys were hidden so we had immediate access to the property and Ana couldn’t have been more helpful.
We even had a community cat come into our apartment, knocked over a lamp and caused slight damage but we have not been charged.
I’m sorry others didn’t have the same experience as we had but I genuinely cannot fault this company.

Abhorrent communication and check-in

Homeforguest makes you use the most absurd, unnecessarily elaborate, identity-theft prone check-in process we have ever encountered. And we’ve been around. I work in the webform field and it took me an hour to get all done, due to unclear pathing and questions.
On top of that there is a big security/privacy issue. Not only do they want photos of the front and back of your ID, they also want a selfie with your face and ID in it (red flag!).
There has been very little thought put into the usability, privacy and security side of this. It’s all about their convenience. Sure, they use a “secured” webpage, but do you know what happens with your information after and where they leave their laptops?

Know what makes all this even more ridiculous? They will meet you at the property, where they have ample time to copy the required information on the spot.

Together with the fact they kept asking for already submitted information, this cost us valuable holiday hours. If we hadn’t paid for our stay yet, we would have cancelled and gone somewhere else, entirely based on the poor communication and ridiculously bad and unnecessarily complicated check-in process. An airline will transport you with less information gathered!! To be avoided!

(Also, the only positive review on this site was written by someone who works at homeforguest. Is that the mentality of an agency you want to do business with?)

Avoid them

Exceptionally rude staff, rental apartment in bad condition, charged additional fees for damages caused by others. The worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Be very careful with these people

I just wanted to offer a word of warning about my experience with a letting company called Home For Guest

If you see them as the management company for a villa or apartment on Air B&B or VRBO or any such app, be vary careful.

We booked Apartment No 3 at Alisios Playa for a week to see what it was like

First off their communication is appalling, right up to the day I arrived I still had no idea what I had to do when I arrived. I filled in a form prior to departure letting them know I’d be there at 3pm (their official check in time). When we landed there was an email from them (sent when I was in the air) telling me to ring a number when I arrived to arrange getting the key. I rang the number, no reply, but I left a message saying I’d be at the apartment for 3. We got there, no one to greet us. I must have rang 25 times and still no answer. We decided to go for a drink and wait nearby after half an hour of waiting. At 5pm I got a call from the woman I had been leaving the messages for asking if we were there yet? I asked how long she would be, she said 40 minutes as she had to come from Rosario

She rang just before 6 and we went to meet her. She had opened the door and was standing outside. She gave me the key and just walked away. I went inside and couldn’t believe the smell. It was rank. I went looking for her but she was gone

I can’t attach pics to show you what they gave us to stay in. There were exposed wires, loose plug sockets I was scared to touch anything. What was worse though was that You couldn’t breathe in the bedroom the damp was so bad. It was quite late by now so we just slept in the living room. One on the bare tiles, one on the sofa. The bedding was damp and stank

Next day we booked somewhere else

I’ll get my money back, but that’s not the point, surely they check to see the condition of the place before letting it out?

Anyway just be careful with Home For Guests, and if you book Alisios Playa make sure the room is fit for purpose

If I can save one person what we had to go through it will be worth it
