Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. I bought a Gold Plus policy
Which covered everything as I thought when I read through. However, last Wednesday 17th August 22 there was a huge deluge of rain plus thunder & lightning which came at the end of the heatwave during which water came through my light fitting in the kitchen ceiling. I have a flat roof on the kitchen. When I first informed the Post Office insurance company I was told I would be covered and someone would come to assess the roof which they did the following Sunday however, he straight away said he wasn’t a flat roof engineer so I thought that was a waste of time. Then when I rang for an update I’m told I’m NOT covered because the wind didn’t exceed 55miles per hour so they said it wasn’t a storm regardless of what the tv( Anglian news) plus local
papers stated ( with pictures) so I can’t claim for my roof. Never will I have PO insurance for anything again.

Home insurance auto-renewed after…

Home insurance auto-renewed after moving out and called 2 cancel when noticed 2 weeks later and cancellation fees added meaning that I will get refunded only £25 of the £140 policy. Beware of this.

Go Elsewhere

I found the service from the Post Office Home Insurance utterly frustrating. My Mother has been made a resident in a care home due to dementia & I have tried to cancel her home insurance policy by e-mail. Understandably sight of the Power of Attorney is required before it can be cancelled which has been requested, but no address was given & no where on the policy documents or on the website can you find an address. I have to add they do not hesitate to take the premium from my husband's credit card, which obviously is in a different name!! Trying to telephone is a nightmare with Covid been the excuse for the long delays. When I managed to speak to a human they requested the policy number which is in plain sight on the document, but according to the gentleman I spoke to this was incorrect. This is an exceedingly stressful time but having unhelpful & uncaring staff from the Post Office certainly does not make the situation any easier. So if a claim was made goodness knows what assistance would be given. The answer to all of this Go Elsewhere.

absolute joke

absolute joke, don't get your travel insurance from the post office, they use a company called CSA who lie to you, don't call back when promised, fob you off, put you on hold for hrs, cut you off. This has been going on for 6 weeks now.

Unfortunately our roof was blown off in…

Unfortunately our roof was blown off in storm Eunice. We have had home insurance now for about 16 years, we have never made a claim. They have been appalling to deal with, bear in mind its a roof, ie the urgency to get it fixed, so not to cause more damage!! Sent lots of photos on the day it happened, yet still no progress. Meanwhile there is 2 offer roofs near to us, which were damaged from the storm, and both have been fixed!!!
It appears their home insurance pulled their finger out and provided a service which the homeowner has been paying for!!!

Don't use if you have (or will purchase) a laptop

Beware, they do not insure laptops. I had a contents insurance policy with them and purchased a high-value laptop. I was told that they wouldn't cover it, meaning I had to pay for a new policy with a different company.

Their £30 cancellation charge meant that I couldn't even cancel their policy because I would end up owing them £1, they wouldn't even waive it.

The new policy with Admiral was actually cheaper and with a greater level of cover. I suggest you try Admiral instead.

Totally customer unfriendly.

Did not recognise there direct debit and so was over charged. Cancelling renewal system totally unfit for purpose; explicitly designed to make it difficult for you. Will never ever use again.

Post Office Robbers

Well, what can I say.

This has to be the worst home insurance company ever!

Called to make a claim and told they insure damage to inside but not outside due to water leaking in through the roof?

The excess was £300 so i repaired it myself and withdrew the claim.

Window broke £300 excess again as per agreement, i got it repaired for £120...

A renewal reminder came through... last years price £221 this years price £511

Am I missing something?

Never claimed or had a payout, and i am expected to pay 150% increase in insurance??
Wth nothing??
Absolutely s#%# do not Use!!

Tried to contact them twice to ask why, placed in the queue, your call is important
blah blah blah, on hold for 6 mins or so then i was cut off twice??

I mean who are these cowboys...
