I have been a member for over 25 years, with many exchanges. It’s made for wonderful travels overall, and US team is very accessible and fair and customer service oriented. They seek to tweak and improve and have done so over the years.
Some of homes are very dated on it, but most everyone has been a pleasure to swap with.
I have enjoyed 8 swaps through Homelink.org, primarily in Europe. They've all worked well and the team that manages the U.S. are highly responsive.
The reason I don't rate Homelink as a 5 is that they recently allowed people to take down negative reviews.
This hurts Homelink.org's ability to provide a trusted platform. As with any website that offers a service or product, consumers/exchangers rely on honest reviews. Is the apartment noisy? Does the house have heat? Did someone take good care of your apt/house?
There's no way as an exchanger to know this or make an informed decision. Everyone looks like they're perfect. Not possible!
