Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

A few months ago, I purchased one of the properties built by Bocking Homes. Before Home Solar Ltd attended the property and commissioned the system, my daily electricity costs were approximately £3 per day. However, after they configured the system, my daily electricity costs increased to around £10 per day and remained at that level for several months.

When I reported the issue to them, no meaningful action was taken. Instead, I was repeatedly told that the energy generated by the solar panels would first charge the battery and that only surplus energy would be exported to the grid. However, after speaking directly with Sunsynk Customer Support, I discovered that this was not true. My battery had been configured to charge from the grid at various times and then export electricity back to the grid.

Home Solar Ltd eventually acknowledged that leaving the export setting enabled had been a mistake and offered a partial reimbursement. However, they attempted to justify the amount by claiming that the figures displayed under the “Year” tab in the Sunsynk app represented annual totals. This explanation was clearly incorrect. The “Year” tab contains individual monthly sections, and when you select a specific month, the application displays a summary for that month only.

As confirmed by Sunsynk Customer Support during my conversation with them, the highlighted section was not an annual summary, as Home Solar Ltd claimed, but a summary relating solely to March.

How can a company that installs and configures these systems be unable to correctly interpret the data displayed within the system’s own application?

On 05/03/2026, with the assistance of Sunsynk Customer Support, I disabled the export function and reconfigured the battery settings. My daily electricity consumption immediately returned to normal levels.

I have also attached screenshots showing my daily electricity usage. Home Solar Ltd visited my property on 17/11/2025, and from that date onwards you can clearly see a dramatic increase in my daily electricity consumption.

If you are experiencing unusually high electricity bills in a property where a system has been installed by Home Solar Ltd, I strongly recommend checking your system configuration and reviewing the data yourself rather than relying solely on their explanations.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Be WARNED - If I could leave zero stars I would

If I could leave zero stars I would. Terry has provided a dreadful service from start to finish. Installation extremely quick but huge faults came to light when another electrician had to come in and fix his botch job. No safety rotator switch was fitted, he installed the equipment so close to my main fuse box that it is now impossible to get a screwdriver into the fuse box to check other fuses. He has also not issued me my EIC or Building Regs Compliance certificates. Despite his parting words being “I’m available 24/7” he no longer replies to any messages or phone calls. I would avoid this Company like the plague.
