Don't waste money on the griddle

Electric Host griddle lasted 6 weeks on medium usage then stopped switching on. Tried to reset the buttons fell out the back it was so poorly made.
Nisbets sent a replacement after the first one failed. Second unit lasts 2 months. Apparanlty I now have to send a engineers report before they release spare parts as repair not covered so now have to fork out more money as host is considered by Nisbets to be cheap.
Seriously do not bother with this product. Very disappointed

How not to be customer friendly

How not to be customer friendly! Unable to give a rough timescale of delivery before placing order. Expected to stay in unmanned, unheated building for upto 10 hours!!! I had to give it 1 star to be able write this review. This is the worst customer service for delivery I have ever experienced, they obviously don't see the customer as someone to get on with.

Avoid at all cost!!!

Please avoid this company at all cost!!!
They are charging restocking fee for returning goods which is illegal in the UK.
I purchased a single burner Induction hob (HOST Digital Induction Hob Single 3kW product number HOST0792IS) that is described on their website to take cookware from 15 cm - 30cm. Exactly what I was looking for. However, when I opened the box and checked the instruction manual - it said that the cookware size is from 12cm to 20cm. I have contacted HOST the same day that I would like to return the product as it has been wrongly described on their website.
I was informed that the restocking fee 20% will apply.
I have refused to pay so now they ignore my emails and I am stuck with it and no refund issued.
They are not responding to my emails, in return they just keep resending the same email over and over with the purchase acknowledgment.
What a disappointment.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Ordered an ice machine through Nisbets from host hand had the worst customer service from host. Tracking app was down so had no idea when the parcel was coming. Then I find out that the driver had attempted delivery and no one was in... Strange as I normally get a phone call from the driver to let me know they're there and I was only 2 minutes away from the property. After checking CCTV the driver was out of his van for no longer than 2 minutes. Our business doesn't open until 12 but that doesn't mean that no one is in the building. Driver saw the closed sign and immediately left. Never tried the door. Never called. Nothing. After calling Nisbets to complain I was told that host will now be charging me £50 plus vat to redeliver and an extra £20 to deliver after we open (which I will have to do as the drivers cannot be trusted to even check if anyone is in the premises). Host said they will not budge on subsidising this cost.
I decided I wanted to take my business elsewhere so asked how much it would cost to cancel my order. 20% of the unit price plus an extra £20 (I think. Might have been more). This would end up costing me £150 for a product I never received!!!! Unbelievable....
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Long story short, I ordered a unit, I haven't received it and I'm paying more .... 2 weekends in a pub without an ice machine now

UPDATED, now sorted: No response to an issue that could be an easy fix!

I’m editing my review (which I’ve left below) from the 2 stars I originally gave Host because they have gone massively out of their way to rectify my issue and turned things completely around to make them a company I would order from again. Scot in customer services went above and beyond to fix things, even those beyond anyone’s control. I think I can definitely say that kind of service is worth 5 stars!

Original review: I’m giving 2 stars because I like the fridge I bought but sadly there’s a problem with the handle. Which wouldn’t be a problem, in fact could be a very easy fix to turn 2 stars into 5, if I could just get a replacement handle. However, weeks of trying to contact Host via chat and ‘contact us’ hasn’t yielded any response so I’m stuck with a fridge with no handle. Very disappointing.

JUST ONE WORD INEFFICIENCY

it's unbelievable how they take advantage of their size to charge people unfair amount, I bought a freezer from nisbets , and they told me it would arrive on Monday 09/09/2024. I had to remove the door to my kitchen to make space for the freezer , but they didn't show up. At 11 a.m. I called them to ask where my freezer was, and their told me that, they had ordered it from one of their suppliers but had forgotten to schedule the delivery for the next day .So I had to put the door back on , even though I need the freezer and had paid for it. The freezer finally arrived on Tuesday during lunchtime( no common sense 2 mt x 0,80 mt x 150kg) I asked the Host driver to wait 20 minuts in the loading bay , because the restaurant was packed , but he left and I had to pay an extra £ 50 to have it redelivered or anyway if a cancel the order I have to pay £ 50 to restocking fee. Poor customer service . I'm stunned by their inefficiency and lack of professionalism

After investigating the matter, I can confirm that your order was placed through a third-party company and not directly with us. As a result, their terms and conditions may differ from ours. For your reference, our standard delivery time is between 3 to 5 working days, between 8 AM and 6 PM. While we do offer the option to schedule a specific delivery time and date, this arrangement needs to be made at the time of placing the order so we can inform our courier.
I apologise if these terms and conditions were not clearly communicated to you at the time of purchase through the third-party company. We always aim to ensure smooth and timely delivery. Lots of planning and organising with specialised equipment to ensure the products are delivered in time and in the right manner which is why we like to make sure deliveries are successful first time., and I regret that this was not the case in your situation.

Really great service and products

Really great service and products. My first order got accidentally damaged during delivery but was replaced promptly and with no fuss.
Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Awful products and company

Awful products and company. Bought two blenders for my cafe to do smoothies. Within five months I have had three blender jugs as they are so fragile they can't handle ice hitting them and crack and break. I had jtc for years with no issues. Emailed customer services and was told it is a wear and tear product and nothing can be done. Would never buy again. But cheap but twice. Garbage.

Bad customer service

Bad customer service, online chat not working in the middle of the day, found a phone number online, was trying to cancel an order that I made 30 minutes before an after holding for 20 minutes was told that the item was already with parcel force and couldn't be cancelled. Cancellation would be subject to a £5 fee and 20% restocking fee. Was cancelling to order a more expensive item but will have to stick with the original item. Having read the reviews after ordering I now just have to hope the item doesn't fail as it seems that there is no chance of getting anything repaired. Think this will be a onetime order

Can't fault them

We bought a triple door bar fridge a few months ago and it's really good. It came within a week of ordering and the delivery man was really helpful, so top marks to him.
We had a communication error (on my part) which, after calling their helpline and speaking to a wonderful young lady there, it was quickly put right and have no problems at all recommending them to anyone.

Airpot 4.7ltr poor value...

I bought my first airpot from this company Nov 23 which arrived with a fault & it was returned & replaced promptly however the replacement has now gone wrong & I have found that only parts are free of charge with my warranty. I have to have it attended by an engineer which is chargeable to me I have been informed.
I was not given any options on my warranty at point of purchase so am having to write this off as an expensive lesson as we all know by the time an engineer has been involved & to return it would undoubtedly be more than the original cost of £46.80 or very close to this sum.
I am disappointed it had such a short life span with or without warranty I would have expected a better product...with a longer life!
Hopefully future customers will find my experience helpful in their decision making for such a product.
Perhaps the price should have been a "red flag" but I shall not be ordering a replacement from them...

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received. My oven was faulty and not working properly, so a technician was sent on 11/06/2024. The next day, your company informed me about a replacement oven. After another week with no oven, I called again and was told the replacement would arrive in mid-July. As a business, we need an oven urgently, so I requested a refund.

I was assured the refund would be processed to my PayPal account within 3-5 working days. However, a week has passed with no refund. I called again on Friday last week and was told I would receive an email, but as of today, Tuesday 25/06, I have not received any response.

After escalating the problem with PayPal I had the refund on the 3rd of July.

This level of service is unacceptable. We rely on having a working oven for our business operations, and the delays and lack of communication have been very frustrating.

Disgusted by the lack of customer care

Please see my below rating. The EXACT same thing has happened with this company where I haven't even started my business properly in an establishment yet but I did two very small events as a run through before I do. Yet again, after 2 uses the equipment stopped working which was a griddle. I filled a form, and yet again they couldnt find it. The equipment wouldnt work at someones wedding which resulted in them losing their food vendor, a large loss of money, me getting home at 4:45am instead of 1am, people shouting at me at the event because theyre annoyed (and rightly so). I havent even really begun my journey in this business yet and this company have tainted it for me. This is two pieces of equipment that has been faulty- the first one was a fryer which I complained about below because it never even switched on and they said they didnt have my form, and now the exact same thing has happened where I have only used the appliance twice and my form is miraculously lost. Its not good enough. I am a sole trader whos trying my hardest to start out and all these guys want to do is dodge you or scam you out of more money for fixing their faulty equipment. Disgraceful company with unreliable equipment which they dont want to be accountable for. Do yourself a favour and go with a different catering company which I had to for a new fryer and that equipment has been a dream. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
