Stay Away. Will leave you stranded. There is no guarantee of a room even with confirmation

Booked a room in California a month out had confirmation (5282636) number. When we arrived at hotel in late evening (11:00) found out that hotelpower never forwarded the reservation. The hotel was sold out along with all the hotels in the area.

Finally found another place to stay around 1:00 am by driving around. Paid out of pocket for the new room.

Been attempting communication since June for resolution. They say they will get back with an answer and then do not respond. Phone just rings and emails are not any better. Don't use this service.

Don't use hotelpower.com. Even with a confirmation number you may be out of luck and left on your own.

DO NOT BOOK WITH HOTEL POWER

DO NOT BOOK WITH HOTEL POWER. They cancelled my reservation due to fund embezzlement. They try and get you to contact the hotel to give you a free room which results in a great deal of confusion across all parties.

I contact Hotel Power direct and they suggested I contact my credit card company if I ever wish to receive my funds back.

Long story short. They screw the customer. Cancel the reservation with the hotel and have your credit cards fraud department front the bill.

Big time scam artists.

UPDATE: They've responded to this thread with "We've reached out to you privately". As you can probably guessed...they haven't reached out. Still waiting for that call/email guys!

A completely fraudulent company

A completely fraudulent company. CROOKS. STAY AWAY. I booked in March for a room that they cancelled the morning I was to check in. Took my money and ran. Just use Expedia or Travelocity or go straight to the hotel website.

BEWARE!!!!!! Hotel Power are thieves!!!!!!

BEWARE!!!!!!! Received a letter in the mail from Hotel Power today that they have fraud within their company and as a result my reservation made in March for a trip in 8 days was cancelled. I called the Hotel and got the correct reservation number and luckily it was not canceled. The reservation number they provide is not the one the hotel has. I am very lucky after seeing all the other reviews that I have what I paid for but I will NEVER use this company again! UPDATE - I got to the hotel Aug 3rd and found out they canceled my reservation on July 29th after I called to confirm the Showboat I still had a reservation on 2 separate times. Hotel Power are absolute thieves. They wait until right before the reservation to cancel, do not refund, and do not inform you of the cancellation so when you go to check in you are SCREWED!!!!!

Total scam company

Total scam company. I feel like a fool in hindsight for not reading the reviews first. Same as everyone- made a reservation and paid hotel power in advance. Showed up at hotel-no reservation and sold out. Hotel power now "cant refund my payment at this time" because of some sort of internal fraud issue. I am reporting them to the Florida BBB -it wont let me post the link here but if you google Florida BBB and read the 103 current complaints about this company you will understand. Is anyone considering a class action lawsuit on this?

Absolutely do not do business with hotel power or Global Travel International.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware - double dipped on billing by two different companys under HotelPower.com, same company: and they will not credit the second charge. Spoke with Himey a few weeks ago who saw the double dip charge and said - no problem will give credit, but never did. So i called back and they said they will not give credit back to me.

SCAMMERS - CANCEL RESERVATIONS AND DON'T REFUND MONEY.

This is a fraudulent company. We booked a room as the price was the best available. My employee called the hotel to confirm the day before the booking and was told that the reservation had been cancelled. Thankfully, we didn't show up.

To be clear:

WE NEVER CANCELLED.

WE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE OF CANCELLATION.

WE NEVER GOT A REFUND FOR THE BOOKING.

WE HAD TO TAKE A ROOM DOUBLE THE PRICE.

We spoke to some low level employee (the Supervisors are always in meetings) and they claimed we canceled three days after we booked. We did not (and at 7am, no less when business is shut.) . We checked our corporate servers and there was no cancellation notice.

But the worst is that if this was a legitimate firm, they would have refunded our payment. They took the money the day we made the reservation and never refunded the payment.

The company is located in Florida and we are going to contact the State's Attorney General regarding this scam firm.

And Trivago which offers this website as one of those they consolidate should be ashamed of itself.

Contact Florida's Attorney General and register a complaint.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS SITE!

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS SITE!! HORRIBLE customer service, and if you call to speak with a manager you will not ever speak to one, and I am convinced this is a fraudulent website. I booked a reservation in error ONE DAY ago (March 1), and literally called within minutes to cancel. The rep I called to assist with cancellation was very helpful (side note: the morning or day reps seem to be much more knowledgeable, and professional), patient and sent an escalated email to the hotel and Hotel Power's escalation team. Initially, that seemed to be ok, but when I called in the evening the same day of the erroneous booking (to follow up on the status of the cancellation and speak with a manager), the initial rep had no idea what he was doing and I waited over 30 minutes to speak with a manager whom I was told would call me back, and never did. When I called back 3-4 times last night to speak with a manager, every representative either picked up and said NOTHING, or immediately disconnected the call when I asked to speak with a manager.

I tried again this morning and got a decent rep who listened to my situation, and even apologized for the representatives who disconnected the calls last night. He offered to call the hotel and his escalation department to see if he can get the reservation cancelled, free of charge, and even gave me his direct call center number and extension. Fine. It's now 1 hour later, and I'm calling back...I had to call several times, because the call kept getting disconnected. I am now on hold for the rep who gave me his extension. He seems to genuinely want to see that this matter is rectified and ensure I am refunded for the reservation, but this has truly been a nightmare working with this website, and though I booked in error, I will NEVER refer nor come back to this site again for any travel / hotel needs.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

We booked a hotel with Hotel Power, called the hotel to confirm, and the hotel did not have our reservation. We called Hotel Power who said they’d fix it within 24 hours. We gave two days, called the hotel, and it still did not have our reservation. Hotel Power then said they’d call the hotel within the hour. They did not. My husband was on the phone for hours talking to various people who said another department had to handle it, but that department doesn’t talk to customers. I called my credit card company to file a fraud complaint. My credit card company called Hotel Power and POOF we got the reservation. I can only imagine what would have happened if we had just shown up at the hotel assuming we had a non-existent reservation.

If it’s too late and you already booked, call the hotel NOW and make sure you have a reservation! If you don’t, call your credit card company. Hotel Power lied to us. They tried to scam us. They should be in prison.

Total scam artists

Total scam artists. They took over $400 for a hotel reservation and refused to give me a confirmation number. The hotel said they have no record of the reservation. I called hotelpower multiple times which takes you to Mexico customer service and spent over 3 hours on the phone with BS responses like “our suppliers are closed and a manager will call you” all of which was a bunch of lies. Luckily my credit card company gave me my money back when I reported this fraudulent website. They should be shut down.
