BEWARE

BEWARE. I ordered a marble fire surround two weeks ago. The website states 5 day delivery service but right now (two weeks on) I’m not sure it will ever arrive. The emails you get to confirm delivery seem to want to make you accept that the product is very likely to go missing or be damaged and accept liability for making sure everything is perfect or you will have to pay for returns… I emailed to ask about getting in touch with the courier for a delivery date last week and have had no reply. I’m fearful of emailing again because they tell you in their emails that you must only contact them in writing… but also if you send another email you will most likely only fall to the back of the queue and delay your response! It’s honestly bizarre and I wish I had ordered this expensive item from somewhere else. If I have no update today I will be seeking a refund via my bank. This is simply no way to do business.

Shady practices, illegal terms and phantom stock

Avoid this company. I ordered a De'Longhi air conditioner that was listed as in stock. Immediately after taking my money, they held my order hostage with a mandatory email demand, stating they wouldn't ship the item unless I explicitly agreed to a £49 "penalty fee" if I decided to return it.

For anyone reading this: this is flat-out illegal. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers have a statutory right to cancel and return online orders within 14 days. While a retailer can make you pay for return postage, charging an arbitrary administrative penalty or "restocking fee" is a direct violation of your statutory rights.

After forcing this compliance check, they emailed back to say they actually had no stock available nationwide, immediately followed by an aggressive upsell attempt to a more expensive unit. Total bait-and-switch. I have thankfully received a refund, but only after wasting time dealing with their predatory tactics. Buy elsewhere.

Flame Effect Electric and separate Wood Burning Stove

We recently purchased both a media wall electric fire and a wood-burning stove from House2Home Megastore, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish.

The media wall electric fire has become the centrepiece of our home. Its impressive flame effect creates a stunning focal point and gives the room a real luxury feel. Everyone who visits comments on how good it looks. The wood-burning stove we purchased for our snug is equally impressive – a beautifully crafted, high-quality stove that perfectly complements the room and performs exceptionally well.

What really set House2Home apart was the level of service. Everything happened exactly as promised and like clockwork. Communication was excellent throughout, delivery was seamless, and the installation was completed to a very high standard.

A special mention must go to Tony, who was absolutely superb. His product knowledge is second to none, he took the time to answer every question we had, and his advice gave us complete confidence that we were making the right choices. It's rare these days to find someone so knowledgeable, professional and genuinely helpful.

I honestly couldn't rate House2Home Megastore more highly. Fantastic products, exceptional service, and a team that genuinely cares about its customers. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a wood-burning stove, electric fire, or fireplace solution.

A thoroughly deserved 5-star review.

Replacement Gas Fire

I ordered my Flavel Misermatic fire & it was very easy to purchase online & arrived within 5 days.I had checked all was ok with the fire but unfortunately when my gas engineer came to fit it we found one of the radients had broken.as it still fitted in the fire he said to carry on but I did email along with a photo to Customer service & they have very kindly sent replacements out no problem.Very pleased with my new fire.

Ordered Gas Fire 13th February (states…

Ordered Gas Fire 13th February (states 7 to 10 days for delivery) I know things can get delayed etc, but I have emailed for an update twice and no reply, also telephoned no answer and cant leave message, but before I placed the order I rang again no answer, but within 5 minutes someone rang me back, seems once order placed lack of interest in calling back or replying to emails,just want to know when I can expect the order I placed in good faith, if keep being ignored will have no choice but to cancel payment with Bank

When looking to replace my fire I found the exact one I was looking for with this company. When I contacted them with a few questions they not only responded quickly, but also came back with some additional advice. Throughout the purchase experience they have been helpful, responsive and I am more than happy with the fire, especially that it is now installed and looks fantastic.

Slow order - poor customer service

Currently have a bioethanal stove on order which was ordered over a week ago and has yet to be dispatched and there has been no further communication or notification of a delay. Email has been sent and still no reply and cannot get through on the phone. The product has now gone out of stock online and I am unsure if this impacts my order or not. Ideally we wanted this stove in place for Christmas but are unable to order an alternative as unsure what is happening with this one and you have our money.

Amy, we tried to call you today regarding your order and left a brief voicemail, stating we would email you with an update, which we have now done. With regard to your order. At the time your order was placed, we indicated this item was in stock. The stock feed is linked directly to the manufacturer's stock. They have had some issues, and with the volume of orders at this time of year, the stock feed has been running behind on providing an accurate stock count because the stock allocation as orders come through is done manually. We were advised on Monday this week that they had no stock available to fulfil your order. However, we were advised that another container from overseas was due in mid-December, so we were waiting to get this confirmed before we came back to you with an update. Today we received another update stating that the shipment will not arrive until January 2026, so we are unable to fulfil this order before Christmas. Demand for all Bio Ethanol stoves has been huge this year, so much so that all our models are now out of stock, which is the case with many other retailers. We are really sorry about this, but the unexpected surge in orders left the stock feed lagging behind. We have tried every way we could to secure one of these for you, as customers sometimes change their minds and cancel, which frees up stock. If this happens, we will get back to you and let you know, as you are at the top of our list. In the meantime, we have processed a full refund for you, and you will receive a separate notification. Once again, our sincerest apologies. When products become so popular and sought after by so many, especially before Christmas, situations like this can occur and are beyond our control.

Absolutely appalling customer support…

Absolutely appalling customer support service & returns policy. Purchased an electric fire online from House 2 Home which on delivery it was discovered that this wouldn't fit into the actual fireplace despite the measurements. The fire remained in its package & intended to return & re-order and alternative free standing fire. However informed that this return was subject to a £99 administration fee in addition to the cost of collection. I was informed that the original fire that I ordered was discontinued even though it was still advertised & the amount promptly deducted from my account though this was eventually fully refunded! I should have charged them a £99 fee for the inconvenience! Appalling service & definitely would not be using this again.

The customer did purchase an Inset electric fire from us. This was unavailable, so they chose an alternative fire. Once they received the fire, they advised it would not suit their opening and asked if we could supply a spacer frame to make the fire fully outset. We promptly provided details confirming that we could supply this. But they subsequently decided to cancel the order.

We then provided details about the return of the fire, reminding them of the associated return costs, which were communicated by email and acknowledged by the customer before the order was processed and dispatched. So, we are surprised they have written this review, given that we had been so clear and transparent from the outset about the returns procedure for the item they ordered, which, as we say, they acknowledged by email.
