A really pleasant experience. The service given was excellent. The staff member who helped me found the perfect chair for me, answered all my questions and gave me ‘thinking’ time before making my decision to go ahead with purchase I have now made. I was treated with great courtesy including a cup of tea and a biscuit!

Ashley and Cameron were excellent when they delivered our two new sofas and Stressless chair. They communicated with us to let us know their arrival time and were friendly and professional throughout. They set up the furniture and ensured that we knew how to operate it. Their cheerfulness was wonderful and unusual and we recommend them very highly.

We have been so impressed by the whole HSL experience and the time that we were given in the sales room by two knowledgeable and patient sales women. We would recommend HSL highly too.

I have been considering visiting the HSL Botley Road store in Oxford for some time but only yesterday did I manage to find the time due to a busy schedule and a very recent operation. On entering the store I was greeted by a warm friendly smile from Scarlett. She was extremely knowledgeable about the product range and pricing and her Customer Service skills were the best I have ever engaged with in any industry or product purchase! She made me feel really valued as a customer and she is an absolutely fantastic person , really smart , professional and so helpful as a representative of HSL she was superb ! I cannot praise her enough...David

Scarlett at the Oxford Branch of HSL displayed tenacity, patience and empathy in helping me find details of a chair made so long ago that I couldn't find any information at home. The chair was bought for my late partner and since she passed 3 years ago it has been taking up space I now want to reclaim, by, hopefully, selling it. Scarlett checked HSL records and guided me to find information on the chair itself.

Emma in Oxford branch was brilliant but after that the company was not easy to deal with. Paid in full for 2 chairs 5 weeks before delivery (DFS in only 3 days). Had to chase delivery and when finally delivered one chair was light oak and the other very dark. Should have been obvious that an error had been made in factory although delivery drivers said it happens all the time. Now have another 4 week wait for new chair and keeping everything crossed they get the order right and that chairs match. Sadly person in Oxford who error was reported to was not sympathetic at all. Feeling very upset and stressed but the whole experience.

What made HSL great for me was the range of fabrics available. Though I would’ve liked a little more choice on a few more quality Jazzy, artistic, individual, type fabrics, as I consider myself a young for my age. Don’t get me wrong there were stylish choices (Luuuv the fabric and pieces I chose). But I think HSL would attract a wider and younger set of customers if they had this in 2026.
Emma helped me feel very welcomed when I got there. Even asked if I’d like a cup of tea! Without any trouble she showed me the full range of fabrics and helped me find what I was looking for. Even sort out a swatch.
HSL kept in touch as they said they would without any pressure of ‘payment in full’ at time of purchase.
Delivery men Jason and Wayne were very friendly, cheerful, polite and respectful. I definitely recommend this furniture store

Jason and Stanley have just delivered the chair. They carried it in carefully, set it up, put it on charge and showed me how to use all the controls. Very helpful and answered all my questions.
The chair is wonderfully comfortable, looks good and my husband is delighted.

We went to Oxford HSL and were really just wanting advice from a company that we knew prioritised lumbar support in their furniture. So it was a fact finding mission that we were intending to back up with other visits elsewhere. However Scarlett and Dee were amazing. There was no one else in the showroom and they spent 2 and a half hours with us which gave us the chance to try out furniture for longer. That meant that we were much more sure of its genuine comfort level. They were not pushy at all and even suggested that if we bought a good quality chair we might not need the two sofas we had been planning as well. We decided to buy a Stressless chair and two HSL sofas at the time because we thought that there was no need to go elsewhere as well. We are very pleased with what we have decided on and Dee and Scarlett are so good at what they do and I hope that HSL are aware of this. Thanks to both of them for their excellent and supportive approach and the time they gave us.

Immediately made us feel welcome. Offered refreshments and chatted to establish our needs. Not at all pushy.
We were given time to think about our choice and returned the next day for another brilliant consultation which resulted in our order.

Friendly personal service from helpful staff who knew their products and helped us find what we wanted without any high pressure sales. Really could not fault the whole shopping experience.

Emma at Hsl Oxford was an absolute legend. She was extremely friendly, helpful and honest. A big credit to the company. My father especially enjoyed the cup of tea sat in the most comfortable chair he has ever sat in.

Thanks to Emma at HSL Oxford. Went to look at rise/recline chairs for my Dad and were quickly convinced to get one by the demonstration provided. Great service and thanks for the tea and biscuits!

Emma in the Oxford showroom gave us a warm welcome and her knowledge and experience (but no pressure) helped guide us quickly to choose and order a chair. The HSL website was hard to navigate for choosing fabric with several fabric not available for certain chair models and a little confusion for a moment. Otherwise excellent

Wow! What can I say. The delivery team were amazing. Jason and Ashley took time to ask and listen to our specific needs. Nothing was too much trouble. Delivery was on time, contact was made when 30 mins away and using a phone number we changed only an hour before. Credit to customer services for passing that number on so swiftly.
Thank you also for leaving some boxes, the children I mind will love them.
