Horrendous experience.

Absolutely a horrendous experience with Maddocks Funeral Directors in St Heath..
I really am still in distress over the way I was treated by them.

I have no hesitation in recommending…

I have no hesitation in recommending Maddocks as they have recently supported us as a family for my younger brothers funeral. The end to end process was seamless. They were always available for any questions or queries. Very professional and approachable at all times. We mostly dealt with Chris and Rachael who were so helpful and understanding, for me especially, but also the rest of the family. I am a great believer in that you “speak as you find” and if I need an undertaker in the future I will continue to use this company.

Poor delivery service

I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding a delivery handled by your service for an order I placed through Maddocks on 2nd May 2025, with next day delivery paid at a premium rate of £14.39.

On Saturday, 3rd May, I monitored the tracking and everything appeared to be on schedule. However, just after 12:00 PM, I was shocked to discover that the item was marked as delivered at 11:53 AM—yet I had received nothing, and the only delivery information provided was that it was "received by VASG."

As I have CCTV on my premises, I reviewed the footage to verify the delivery attempt. There was no sign of a DX van or delivery personnel approaching my address at any point that morning. Concerned, I began checking with neighbouring shops. Only after visiting several businesses down the road, I discovered the package had been left at a pharmacy, which is clearly not my electrical shop, nor in any way associated with my business.

I attempted to contact DX immediately, only to find your customer service lines were unmanned on weekends. I also reached out to Maddocks, who offered a basic apology. A few days later, I received a response from DX advising me to contact the supplier. This is unacceptable.

I paid for a premium next-day delivery service and was not only denied proper delivery, but was also left to track down my own parcel, reviewing CCTV footage and walking to unrelated businesses due to the negligence of your delivery driver. This experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and unprofessional.
