I am in love with Huawei

I bought a Huawei nova 3i 4years ago, uptill now the phone is still very good and it is what i am using to write this review. The phone has performed way beyond my expectations. Thumps up Huawei.

GT3 onwards - unfixable issues!

I bought a GT3 watch last year and it was all good at 1st. Now, after an update, it takes over calls while being connected to bkuetooth in the car and passes it back to the phone... making bluetooth pointless.

I have raised the issue to Huawei, just to be told its an unfixable fix, offering a work around that defeats the purpose of having a smart watch or bluetooth phone.

They dont care, they seem to just want our money.

Avoid at all costs..

Average Mobile Phones

I have been using Huawei’s mobiles from the last 5 years. Despite their affordable prices, they have their fair share of troubles.

So, the first Huawei mobile that I bought was Huawei P9 Lite costing around $145. As per its specs, the mobile kept working just fine until out of nowhere, its Wi-Fi stopped working. From trying out different troubleshooting methods available on the internet to contacting Huawei customer service (I didn’t get any response) – I dug everywhere for a working solution but I couldn’t find one. So, I had no choice but to get rid of the device.

I, then bought Huawei P smart of roughly $150 (which I’m currently using). It was definitely an upgrade from P9 Lite. However, it’s camera quality is certainly not up to the 13 MP/8 MP spec. Also, the music files keep getting deleted automatically. I’ve lost my over 500-songs gallery as a result of this predicament. I don’t know if it’s an issue with Huawei Music app or something else.

A year on, I’m thinking of moving on from Huawei to some other mobile service. If you’ve got some flexibility in your budget, I suggest you do the same!

Huawei buyer beware, bad support cometh

I purchased a Huawei Nova 5T while traveling through Phuket Patong Beach Thailand, 1/2020. I was my understanding Huawei technology is reported good. The Huawei rep who just happened to be in the store at the time also sold me on the phone saying it would work in the USA. I activated the phone on T-Mobile Network 5/2020, since activating the phone does not function 100% on the T-mobile network, the local Huawei tech support Ishmael based in Mexico City confirmed that the phone is made with Thailand firmware and will not work in the USA. From recent months weeks now I have been calling and Tweeting as many as possible, I have even called Thailand for support, no one calls back, accept for the occasional Tweet DM, I'm told Thailand has been notified and we will respond once Thailand support replies back, good luck. They say it's a complex issue and Thailand needs to support this. It's amazing Huawei from the top down staff does not support there own they pass the problem on and make the customer wait, wait and wait... with practice like this I'm sure Huawei staff will find themselves out of a jobs. Support goes a long way. Buy a Ford in Boston, take it to a Thailand Ford dealer, the Thailand Ford dealer is not going to tell you to bring the car back to Boston for service. Huawei your organization and support philosophies are terrible. the more consumers know about this poor support Huawei will have problems.

Huawei P40 Lite - Quite Uselss

Huawei P40 Lite
Absolutely useless in not being able to access Google Apps via Phone Clone as promised in the ads. This solution is far from perfect, only cloning down some apps and failing in cloning some other extremely important apps like Gmail/Hotmail/Calendar from your old phone. Huawei own rather limited App Gallery is nowhere near as comprehensive as Google's and full of pop-up ads. The user manual (which you have to download) is very perfunctory and short on explanation, assuming the user to be a computer geek that knows all about software and hardware. In short, the P40 is a total waste of money and a poor match for my present Moto G5 which you can buy at half the price. In two minds whether I advertise it for sale and land some other poor soul with this totally impractical piece of hardware.

The battery on my Huawei P9 needed…

The battery on my Huawei P9 needed replacing, a simple task.
I called on Huawei to get the job done as the phone was otherwise working perfectly.
They arranged for their repair centre (also known as SBE Ltd of Ashford) to collect the phone and do this simple repair.
I turned it on when it came back after the repair and immediately got a temperature warning so I contacted Huawei customer hotline immediately.
They told me that they would arrange for the phone to go back to their repair centre.
Then lockdown happened & I heard nothing.
I reminded Huawei of this when the country restarted & eventually they arranged for it to go back to SBE which took a while because of Covid-19 issues.
It was delivered to SBE 2 weeks ago & today I received it back with a note to say that there was now a main board fault.
It did not have this when it went for it’s original repair so it has been damaged whilst in the care of Huawei’s repair centre (SBE Ltd).
They have refused to repair it or supply a replacement phone or even refund the money that I paid them for the battery.
When I spoke to Mike at Huawei customer line & he had refused on behalf of Huawei to properly help I told him I would leave this feedback on every possible site, his only comment was “THAT’S FINE”.

These people care about their customers about as much as their Chinese owners care about their population – do not trust them or buy from them & if you do then do not ask Huawei or SBE to repair it if it goes wrong.

If either company do the proper thing and take responsibility for this then I will amend this accordingly.

UPDATE - Huawei are refusing to take responsibility for their errors, go buy anything else.

I baught a phone brand new second hand

I baught a phone second hand , it works fine. I just have a problem of suspecting someone to compromise my information. My Huawei phone overheats , if i charge it , it is as if theres a pipeline that discharges the power. It could be really nice to have it wirelessly charged. Therefore if there bad ghosts in where I live prehing from my phone is prevented.

Huawei Mobile Services

Huawei Mobile Services - My hands on experience of 'HMS'

Alot of media content suggests that Huawei lack a competitive edge on the application market, This is incorrect. I've been using a Mate 30 Pro for the past month, Which I purchased from Carphone Warehouse online. I chose to ignore what keyboard warriors said and took the jump, A month in and I sold my previous device, I don't need a GMS device.

What this has done for me has allowed me to have access to more markets, E.G instead of only shopping in 1 superstore e.g Debenhams I can shop in John Lewis. The point is there are no restrictions to what I can do with my device.

The whole point of Android was to create an Android Open Source Project (AOSP). So on my device I have a multiple of App Market options, I personally have been using across between Phone Clone at the beginning. I downloaded alot through App Gallery itself preinstalled on my Mate 30 Pro and then I've downloaded APKPure.

A month on, I'm using a device well designed, great power and an awesome camera which is amazing for my job as i require a fast speed lens and rapid shots.
