I ordered a fridge/freezer, which was an excellent price. The day before delivery I realised it was too big. I contacted Hughes and explained the situation. Without hesitation they cancelled delivery and gave me a full refund.

Customer services really poor and happy to waste your time
Having purchased numerous items over the past 18 months, I encountered a faulty appliance that shed light on the subpar customer service at the Norwich Hughes store.
Despite weeks of attempts to address the issue through calls and visits from Pacifica, I resorted to visiting the store to request a replacement.
A awful male staff member rudely dismissed my request leaning over the counter into my personal space and incorrectly stating that I had no consumer rights (contrary to the Consumer Rights Act 2015) and insisting I obtain details including up lift numbers (not an easy task wasting hours trying to do ) from the manufacturer before any action could be taken.
After several days of contacting the head office via email, arrangements were finally made to collect the defective appliance a week later (with no sense of urgency), offering only a partial refund considering my use of the appliance for 18 months.
An apology was issued for the misinformation provided by the staff member, who was not the only one guilty as two others present failed to correct him, revealing their lack of knowledge on the matter.
My advice is to not be misled by this establishment - they may readily sell you products, but offer no support when things go awry.

We completely understand the information given in store was incorrect and full details have been provided to all staff members in relation to this matter so they fully understand what the process is when dealing with such as situation in the future, where a manufacturer has failed to resolve a fault. We do apologise for any frustration and inconvenience caused by this and I am pleased to see the issue was dealt with by our customer care team, we are sorry if you were not happy with the speed in which this was dealt as we do try to arrange collection services as soon as possible. We can confirm the partial refund was calculated in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, taking into account the product's expected average lifespan and the period of use you had received.
We would again like to take this opportunity to apologise for the overall situation and we do hope you have now received the expected refund.

I’m really not happy
I’m really not happy, I paid for next day delivery. I received a delivery fail notification. The delivery was cancelled before my time slot. There was no call as per the order confirmation. I rang the delivery partner, they didn’t know where my parcel was. 3hours later I was told the driver had an emergency and my delivery was rescheduled 5 days after the first order. I’ve raised the issue with Hughes and no one has bothered to respond in a suitable time frame. I’m yet to receive my delivery. I really think this is a dreadful company for not trying to remedy the situation.

Excellent customer service

Sarah from customer service was brilliant, after I had explained the damage she immediately sauced another one just requesting for me to email photos of the damage. Then phoned me to check the delivery date was ok.
Within 3 days another one was delivered by a great Hughes team who made sure all was well before they left

Appalling service
Appalling service. Incompetent staff. Tried to rent a washer dryer machine from Hughes. 1st attempt- delivered a faulty machine-cracked piping I was told. 2nd attempt- delivered and installed a washing machine not a washer dryer. Very apologetic but made no attempt to ensure quick resolution but getting the order correct and delivered the next day. I am disabled and have limited mobility. No other means of cleaning clothes except to hand wash but no drying facilities. Hughes seem uninterested in ensuring quality service to disabled people. Avoid!!!!
