Hugh’s Adult Silver Gallery

Hugh’s Adult Silver Gallery print out lessons are great! I am unable to attend Hugh’s classes in person as I live far away and have a two year old to look after, but being able to print out and work through a class in my own time makes painting possible again. Hugh’s critiques and seeing my paintings in his online gallery is a real motivation to get the brushes out and try my best!

Seasonal painting

Mr Templeton came in to my class and taught my Year 1 children how to paint autumn leaves and a winter scene. They absolutely loved the lesson and they all created beautiful watercolour paintings. Thank you Mr Templeton!

Another good day at Bashal Eaves…

Another good day at Bashal Eaves Village Hall. Topic today “Water View”. Lovely picture of weeping willow tree overhanging the canal near Hugh’s home. Plenty to discuss and share to interpret the scene. Lively discussions and stories floating about over lunch. Booked in for next week.

A very enjoyable learning experience

Hugh’s lesson day is a day to look forward to. Apart from the excellent teaching and variety of subjects chosen by Hugh to paint, students’ comforts are well catered for and the atmosphere created is relaxed and light-hearted.
Each lesson is self-contained and there is no pressure to attend every week or to produce a masterpiece. Nonetheless, with Hugh’s well-structured guidance, the results are usually surprisingly pleasing, regardless of the previous experience of the student.
I have no hesitation in recommending that anyone who has an interest in learning watercolours gives it a try.
