Website Navigation

It was easy to set myself up on the website and to accept or decline a booking. However, I found it very difficult to find the calendar to see which days I had a booking.

I found the website a little difficult to negotiate however if I had a query, an email was answered very quickly and efficiently.
I am happy to support the ethos of the HumanHotel and would use them again.

Hi Ann,

Thanks for taking time to fill out this review. As the CPO and co-founder of Human Hotel, I'd like to respond back to you personally:

GUEST CONDUCT
To your first point, no guest should be surprising their host with more unexpected and unaccounted-for guests in their booking request to you. Nor should they be complaining about our fees to you and making you feel bad about hosting (and charging them a bit). That's completely unfair to you and we will help explain this type of conduct is unacceptable. If you feel uneasy about hosting this guest, please go ahead and CANCEL their stay from your Upcoming Guest page (https://climate.humanhotel.org/reservation/current).

OUR FEE STRCTURE
Secondly about our fee structure, Human Hotel charges booking fees to help cover the costs of keeping all these great communities and partner platforms running. This means paying to use servers, messaging services, payment processors, host insurance, GDPR compliance and anything else necessary to ensure that as many people as possible have safe access to affordable, sustainable accommodation. These fees are also allowing Human Hotel to cover accommodation costs for Global South and minority groups, such as Minga and other indigenous groups, in order for them to attend and participate in the UN Climate Summit talks.

We are a small team who are dedicated to the idea that homesharing can be a powerful force for change in the world. We're doing the best we can with our limited resources to create fairer alternative to big booking sites and keeping our fees as low as possible - because cost should never be a barrier to anyone. The aim of creating this network is that it becomes sustainable in the long term and able to support climate/social/environmental actions and meetings anywhere in the world through homesharing. In order for this to happen it needs to be on a sustainable footing, covering its costs which would mean a small fee for each booking.

At present the platform charge is $5 per night per night, with the first 1-2 nights charged at a flat rate of $10 USD. The platform actually operates at a loss currently. As the platform moves towards sustainability with more bookings, more guests, and more hosts all over the world, we will be able to reduce these fees.

I hope I've helped you understand what you can do about your current guest and that I've given you a better of understanding of how Human Hotel works. Please feel free to reply again if you want to continue our conversation. I'd welcome that, and my ears are always open to feedback from our users on how to improve their experience in any way.

All the best,
Will R.

Non intuative user interface

I used it as a Host for XR London August 2021..... I found the user interface crap ..... e.g. I have spent 20mins searching for how to change my listing picture .... Failed .... The user interface is nowhere near guessable..... Extinction Rebellion chose it; not me.

Since then we've made significant UX/UI improvements that will make your next experience a whole lot better :) Hope to see you again soon and thanks for supporting the climate movement.

Great platform!

Human Hotel is such a great idea, run by wonderful people. As soon as I signed up on the platform earlier this year, I received a personal message from Michael welcoming me to the community and offering to help match me with other artists, not only for accommodations, but also just to meet and connect with. I made a couple of great connections on my recent trips to Denmark and Portugal, thanks to Human Hotel!
