Hypnia UK has closed down and won't honour trial period

They offered 200 day trial period - then when I requested to get refund or exchange for a firmer mattress (the mattress I got was much softer than a different model Hypnia mattress that I tried at a friend's house which had the same firmness index), causing backpain and awful to sleep on with two people because it's so soft and dips in the middle. The customer service then told me Hypnia UK has shut down and they can't do this anymore.

Awful quality and service

Really poor quality- after a couple years use it has a massive dip and they do not honour their warranty- so disappointing and waste of money - awful service- I do not buy from them ever again

Great quality for the price

I bought this for the spare room and have been using it whilst decorating my room. I was looking to buy a much more expensive brand mattress for my room, but ended up buying a second mattress for me. Very pleased with the quality, and very comfortable.

Like a couple of reviews

Like a couple of reviews, I have not received my refund after 3 weeks. I was also asked to provide bank details vis pdf because they’ve changed bank. From previous reviews they’ve done this before earlier in the year. Not a reputable company!

Glorious!

Glorious!! I live with a degenerative spine condition and did so so much research. This is THE PERFECT mattress for me. I sleep for longer, feel happy when I wake!! It's made the same way as other mattresses 4× the price....I can not recommend Hypnia highly enough!!!

Third mattress purchase

Third mattress purchase. One to replace a Hypnia bought ten years ago, one for my son. Excellent mattresses and probably won’t change brand as they are so comfortable and durable.
Four stars given as their customer service definitely needs improvement. I’d ordered one mattress and the next day attempted to contact and ask they amend the order to an additional mattress. Took days on chat bot to even get a response. Emails go unanswered and there’s no phone number. If they had amended the order i would have qualified for free Hypnia pillows, so I missed out on those. The order status doesn’t update in live time. I received both mattresses and the orders were still showing as pending.
However, the mattresses are great. No issues and I’d highly recommend.

Appalling service and false promises

Ordered a mattress 30th June. I then sent email 7th July to ask for an update and received an assurance of delivery by the end of the week. I emailed again 17th July asking "Would you definitely confirm when to expect delivery, or should I request a refund?" They promptly sent a refund notice email 23rd July without so much as an explanation or apology. And I've got to wait 10 days for my money back! Absolute joke. Appalling customer service, empty promises... avoid like the plague! I used these because Simba was just as bad. Is there a mattress company out there who is actually reliable?!!!

Complete lack of customer service

Bought a mattress, waited 2 weeks, had to ask THEM what is going on. Got a "oh its out of stock so we will refund you", like you were doing me a favour. Nothing of goodwill to say, sorry for the 2 weeks, here is a discount code for next time. We will look at our services to ensure we aren't selling OUT OF STOCK items. Will not be using these guys again, I suggest you all do the same. You ring their number and it just has an automated response message to say to email them. Waste of time company.

Absolutely shocking service from start…

Absolutely shocking service from start to finish!!
Don't waste your time!
Ordered my bed 30th June, 3-5 days delivery, after 7 days I'd had absolutely no contact from HYPNIA regarding delivery. There is no method of actually speaking to anyone at this tin pot Company so I emailed every day for a further 5 days, each time it took at least 48 hours to get an automated email reply. Over 10 days passed and I was told my bed wasn't coming and I would receive a full refund....After then chasing the refund every day I finally received my money back on the 18th July, 18 days after ordering initially!!!!
Absolutely shocking, really shouldn't be allowed to trade in the UK!! According to their website they have a 4.2 star rating.... you have to be kidding me????

The worst service I have ever received

The worst service I have ever received. Total lack of comms, no delivery on agreed day, no notice, no emails, no calls, nothing to explain the situation. Phone number doesn't have people available to speak to. Online chat takes an age for a response and you get fobbed off. Now have a refund on the way that I didn't ask for, but glad I got that at least after badgering them every day for an update. Do not use this company.

Sold an unexisting bed

Order a bed from Hypnia on 1st of July to discover on the 7th of July that they sold an unexisting/unstocked product. As of 7/07/2025 the bed is still on the website, you can still click on it and purchase it but hey, they don't even intend to restock it anymore.
Lack of transparency and care to be honest.
Let's see if we will get the refund back.

worst service ever

worst service ever, says on the website it has fast delivery which in reality they never end up delivering it, 3-5 days? that's a load of ****. just cancelled my order, really don't trust that they will actually give me my money but all I can do is hope right now.

replaced our old mattress and pillows, simply because of age and hollows. We had also made the mistake of choosing a mattress that could not be turned; otherwise it had been excellent.our new hypnia now in use for 3 weeks; from day 1, it was very comfortable and we believe it has continued to improve. Sought a slightly softer mattress as I am a side sleeper. and also the new pillows have helped shoulder and neck comfort. quality is excellent, delivery and removal of old bedding was most helpful. very pleased

Never received the mattress and struggling to get a refund

Ordered a mattress on 25th May, supposedly with a delivery time of 3-5 days, after over two weeks and being promised it had been dispatched despite the tracking information showing the order as not even processed I have attempted to cancell my order, this after near two more weeks still has not been done and I am left out of pocket and without the mattress I paid for.

Ordered on 31st May, still not here 5th June.No email,no contact.Am starting to wonder if this company exists! Suppose we are all so used to the service of companies like Amazon that anything else seems slow,but really,even their "thank you for ordering" email only said"delivery between" but no date followed that! They get til tomorrow then I am cancelling

Is it bedtime yet?!

I wanted a great quality mattress and after some research decided on the Hypnia supreme pillow top mattress. I got this at a great price and delivery was so simple. I have been sleeping on this for just over a week and this is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I look forward to going to bed now!

Poor service

The first delivery was the wrong mattress which we had to wait to be picked up and another delivered. The mattress was then unsuitable so we decided to return it. The return was accepted but after weeks of waiting there has still been no refund. We were informed the refund system wasn’t working and they asked for a pdf or our bank details for send the money, another week has passed, still no refund.

SMALL DOUBLE SUPREME MEMORY FOAM…

We bought this mattress in November 2024 in preparation for Christmas (order number UK9111). Unfortunately, the refurbishment we planned to be completed before Christmas was delayed until January. We uncover the mattress for the first time at the end of January. We discovered that there is a hole in the textured cover, and dusts all over the mattress. The cover which is supposed to be white and new is yellowish brown. We were shocked they sent the mattress to us in that condition. We paid for a new mattress but were duped with an old, used returned mattress. This criminal misrepresentation was meant to exploit unsuspecting public. The nauseating smell from the mattress meant we had to leave the mattress and the room for almost 3 weeks with opened window to let the smell out. We wanted to buy two mattresses. A small double and king size for Christmas, but we suspected we may experience delays, given the complaints of many customers online. The online reviews highlighted a systemic problem with their customer service and service delivery. Therefore, we decided to buy the small double mattress to see for ourselves. Sadly, we were proven right to be cautious. Delivery was delayed and communication from the company was zero. We had to chase them on the phone many times, and when the mattress was to be delivered to us, there was no text, email or phone call from customer service or the courier firm to inform us of the delivery date. If I had not called customer service on the day of the delivery, I wouldn’t have known that the mattress would be delivered that day, and we would have missed the delivery. To my experience, this is the worst customer service in the business. I would have bought the 2 mattresses from them, but due to their unprofessional behaviour, we had to go elsewhere to buy the mattress. Whilst other manufacturers deliver to the room of your choice, their courier wouldn’t even deliver to the threshold of the door, let alone to the room of your choice. The mattress was left outside on the pavement in a tattered opened box. I paid for a new mattress; they sent me an old used mattress which they thought they could get away with. When they were found out, I complained and ask for a replacement. I gave them 7 days to deliver a new mattress that I paid for, unfortunately, they were full of excuses. Failure to meet the deadline, I forward all correspondence to my bank and my money was refunded the same day that I complained to my Bank. When the refund hit their bank account, then they remember my phone number, and asking when they can deliver the mattress when they realised the horse has bolted. Never again.

Let your mattress settle before you review

We received our mattress on time and had extremely helpful guys take it to our room and removed our old mattress. Our first night felt a little uncomfortable but afterwards when the mattress had settled it feels much better. I like the quality of the workmanship of the mattress and feel that there are many years of wear ahead.
