Purchasing the card was easy. It was easy to add multiple cards to one app and scan everyone in at once. We used the 48-hour card for public transit (including to Schipol airport), discounted 1/2 day... See more

The 5 day I amsterdam card was an excellent choice for me.
I visited planned museums and sites, as well as discovering things to do that I had not planned for my trip. It was helpful to receive messages letting me know what was close by. It was also great to have access to the public transportation system included on the card. I got more than my money's worth from purchasing the card.

I amsterdam made it easy for us to travel around Amsterdam and to gain entry to several museums and other sites. It made our trip more economical and easy to use.

It was an extremely useful means of getting around the city and exploring the key sites. It was good value for money.

Purchased a 4 day card (96h) on their website on february 2026 for around 140€ (activated on 25.04). Used their android app to use it, no issues with purchase or usage.
The price of the card is different for different periods (1 day, 2 days, etc.). It achieves maximum value per euro with the biggest, 4-5 day length. You should also mind that if you are not keen on museums and all, the card might be a net loss for you (since most of its cost is access to attractions). But if you are, the total price of tickets, if you visited without the card, would be higher - so it's a net positive, not even including public transport pass, canal cruise and bike rental.
The card provides free access to a really wide selection of museums and some other attractions (zoo, lookout point, walking tour, etc.) and a discount for some other places. You can book tickets in most of them in advance or at the spot - card will work in both cases... Should be noted that while it includes a lot of museums, it doesn't mean all. Among big examples, during my visit Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank's house were not included in the card, neither was Keukenhof. Also, they say you can only visit same museum once - but I never checked that.
It also includes 1 free canal cruise with one of the partner companies, I chose Lovers. No issues redeeming the cruise, but should be noted that it cannot be booked in advance, so you have to book in person and thus may have to wait.
I did not use the bike rental, so can't say anything on that part.
My only gripe with the card is the public transport pass that is included. The card only allows you to travel within the city of Amsterdam. However, the card includes some spots in Amsterdam region (most notably Zaanse Schans and castle Muiderslot/fort Pampus). So if you want to reach them, you have to purchase bus tickets separately. This feels somewhat illogical.
Overall, I would still strongly recommend this card to everyone who comes to the city for a few days with the intention of visiting local attractions, especially museums - then you're almost guaranteed to make more value out of the card than it costs. My advice would be to take the 4-5 day card and buy a region pass from gvb kiosk at the station, if you plan to visit places outside main city.

The city card is a pretty good value, and we definitely felt like we got our money's worth. There are a nice variety of things included with the card and we enjoyed all of the activities a lot. My two complaints are that it wasn't obvious that only one boat tour is included (the wording on the site is too subtle and does not make this immediately clear); and the I amsterdam app on iPhone does not properly prevent Apple wallet from opening, so we had a lot of trouble getting it to work on the metro. Would have been nice to be able to add the card directly to Apple wallet to avoid this issue.

Definitely recommended if you’re staying for at least two or three days and plan to visit museums and get around by public transport. However, we were unable to activate it once we arrived in Amsterdam, so we had to go to the central office at the station, where, fortunately, a very kind lady helped us and sorted everything out. After that, everything went smoothly: some sites were free, others offered discounts, and public transport was free to use – brilliant! Don’t forget to tap your card on the entry and exit gates on public transport, otherwise it will deactivate...

Value for money (2-day pass) and almost no-wait line to enter sites. Access to places that I would not have gone otherwise (well, because I paid for it LOL). GWB transit included was nice but some confusion as to which rides were covered and were not. Recommended buy.

The best investement in Amsterdam buying the I amsterdam card. Free transportation, museum tickets and tips for exploring the city.

Loves that includes public transportation costs and I felt if you are planning to do more than one activity in a day it's a value.

The card is very good, it gives access to many places, and also the transit which is great.

All the museums and discounts were great. I especially like using the buses and trams.

This card made our Amsterdam visit worthwhile. We were able to do the museum visits and use the transportation easily, as well as take a boat ride! I definitely recommend.

Very flexible- can use in many places not just for public transportation but also in museums and other activities-good value for the price. One minor issue is that sometimes the digital card is not easily readable by the tram system causing some delays getting in or out of the tram.

The cost of the 3 day pass more than covered the costs of the museums we visited. It was also great to have transportation and a canal cruise covered.

Great sites and easy travel. The sites which were included are great, but the website feels slightly misleading in that it lists attractions which aren't actually included on the card.

I bought two digital cards for my wife and I. Both the cards did not get activated on the same day after purchase. Mine got activated only the next day and for my wife we had to go to the store in Amsterdam Central to replace with a physical card. We both lost a day and this messed up our plans and we finally ended up using the cards only for a canal boat ride and couple of tram rides. Finally we used only about 15% of the card value.
