Total Disgrace. Brings shame on the Industry.

Terrible Service - AVOID if You Can

Use with caution and AVOID if possible. My experience with IBanFirst has been awful and would definitely NOT recommend this company due to their poor after trade service with zero consideration for years of loyal service.

They sent money to the wrong account.

On another occasion, they sent funds but forgot to cover the bank fees, resulting in insufficient funds arriving, causing arrears and penalty fees.

The final transaction was not paid on time and nearly cost me my house for defaulting on a bridging loan.

Cleared funds arrived on a Friday and should have been released the same day, but they weren't. Had I not chased it, they still wouldn't have been sent by Monday. As it was, the money didn’t arrive on time, and when I was hit with penalties and professional fees while I defended court action and foreclosure on my house. IBanFirst's response "we cannot accept liability for any consequences you may have faced due to this delay." SHOCKING. OUTRAGIOUS.

Buyer beware — this service has been unreliable on more that one occasion, causing unnecessary fees and an enormous amount of stress. Find alternative. One who is more reliable, professional and delivers first class customer service. IBanFirst does none of these.

I have been a loyal IBanFirst client for 9 years, and a client of D. Baldwin's for in excess of 20 years, but the service has deteriorated significantly, resulting in severe consequences for me.

12th April 2024: Payments were not made despite my clear instructions, affecting my credit rating and risking essential utilities being cut off. Not good and a situation I had to defend in a foreign country. Not easy.
27th May 2024: A payment was sent short due to unpaid bank fees, placing my account in arrears and flagging me as a debtor and affecting my credit rating with my supplier.
20th June 2024: Despite receiving my funds and instructions, on Thursday 20th June 2024 a transfer wasn’t actioned until 16.40hrs on Monday 24th June—too late to arrive same day and too late to prevent court action and penalties, including foreclosure risks on my property.
These delays were entirely preventable. I have not sought compensation, only reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses caused by IBanFirst’s errors. when I raised the complaint, having endured the other mistakes without taking issue, instead of entering meaningful dialogue with me or offering any sort of an apology, I received just one letter, a "final response letter", which outlined details of an incomplete and flawed investigation, written in a dismissive tone advising me to escalate to the ombudsman.

As a long-standing client, I expected better. This experience has been stressful, costly, and deeply disappointing. IBanFirst's lack of accountability and poor client retention practices are not what I would expect from a professional service provider and it is for this reason I shared my experience on Trustpilot. Even your own broker was embarrassed with IbanFirst's handling of the matter.

Best rates & top service provider

I've worked with Dominic for 20 years and more recently have had contact with Tom who has also provided an excellent service. I always receive a swift response to any enquiry and once a rate is agreed upon, the actual process for payment and transfer of funds to a foreign account is extremely efficient and with a summary provided at the close of business. I cannot recommend them highly enough - thank you!
