Great Experience

We have been using icon for over a month now and have had a great experience with their UGC creators. There has been some minor inconveniences because of website and flow updates, but their team has always been responsive and fixed any issues we have had. Overall, I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews other than it was a new company trying to work some kinks out. For us, right now, icon has been great.

Auto upgraded my plan to $249/month!

I didn't like that it prompted me to invite someone to my account and then when I did it auto upgraded me from $39 to a team plan for $249/month. Not cool. Never logged in again.

I signed up for a 3-day free trial and…

I signed up for a 3-day free trial and was offered a 4-week extension when I tried to cancel. Despite this agreement, they charged my card in full 3 weeks before the extension was set to end. This is a direct breach of their own offer. To make matters worse, there is no way to reach a human representative; their customer service is non-existent. This feels like a predatory "subscription trap." Avoid this service if you value your time and money.

dreadful

dreadful - total scam. I signed up for the three day trial, then couldn't even access my account once they had my credit card details to cancel it. Like other reviewers here - this is a total sham operation - avoid at all costs

Tried it because my boss asked me to…

Tried it because my boss asked me to and it was a total fail. Nothing worked as they said it should. You can't edit any of the ads. Half the time they don't even load. I messaged support and they said "it was a known issue and they'll pass it along to the eng team". No actual help or a timeline for things to be fixed. The bad ai ads did provide some entertainment for me and my coworkers. We had many laughs over the fails.

Then I cancelled within the 3 day free trial and they charged us $199 for "50% off 3 months" which I never agreed to. Very scammy

Not What It Seems

AI generated ads make Icon AI look great but don’t be fooled. I signed up for the trial, canceled before it ended, and still got overcharged. When I reached out for help I found out that the entire team I had worked with had recently quit, which says a lot.

The hype on LinkedIn seems inflated by paid bots or fake accounts. I fell for it and regret it. The CEO’s posts are concerning, especially since he encourages people to drop out of college to join his company despite the clear internal issues and high turnover.

Save yourself the trouble and run in the opposite direction.

Charge money without prior consent

In addition to having quite miserable results they charged me 400 without any explicit authorization. Their support email address doesn't respond at all. Looks like there's only one guy working on it, mostly on marketing and money pulling.

Extremely buggy and low quality

Glitchy, buggy, incredibly annoying how it will close you out of your ad mid-edit for no reason at all.

Additionally, 1/2 responses were either GTP hallucinations or just didn't output anything at all .

I have not been this frustrated with a piece of software since download a microsoft family license through a VPN with a forgotten password.

Static ad generation MIGHT BE useful, but can't work for video .

Would be so incredible if the team took one of the seven weekdays to make useable features or debug.

another overhyped tool it seems

In my first week of trial and quite dissapointed from the performance. I get the tool is new and they are working on improvements, but then,do not charge such a price for something that is sub-par. Do it like everyone else, start with a low price, get customer feedback and build a loyal base, and keep building from there.
If the goal is a quick exit, then this makes sense. And thats ok, i am just not going to be part of this as a customer.
On the tool-I have only used the image features, the tool keeps mixing up data you input and comes up with outputs that are not really usable for ads.
They claim support is 24/7/365 but i keep getting slow responses (we cannot spend all day online waiting for support).
Pricing is ridiculously high (in line with the hype they have made, since they have so much funds to spend on advertising).
Overall a sub-par performance , from yet another overhyped tool..

Deceptive promises and terrible support. I signed up as a Founding Partner, lured by flashy promises of “direct access to support,” “unlimited brand workspaces,” and a “100% money-back guarantee.” In reality? I got a bait-and-switch disaster.

From the second I joined, the onboarding process forced me to create initial ads I wasn't prepared to create (and didn't want to create upon sign-up) and instantly burned through my monthly downloads - with no ability to bypass the screen and come back later, taking my time to create the ads I wanted. All I wanted to do was make a purchase, print a receipt, and go away, taking my time to go through everything at another time. But I literally could NOT do that. I was stuck creating ads on the spot and had to choose from limited, generic options, with no creative control in the process.

I reached out to support multiple times for help and despite the supposed VIP access as a Founding Partner, I received slow, unhelpful, and dismissive responses. The whole system was clunky, difficult to navigate, and far from what was promised. Everything was designed to upsell you to a higher plan.

The final straw? I asked to cancel and got double-billed instead for one year of membership. I spent an entire week chasing down refunds, trying to get clear answers, and navigating the mess they created. Hours of wasted time.

Sadly, none of their promises lived up to the reality. The entire platform is geared towards pushing you into a done-for-you service at $1,500 per month. The do-it-yourself platform is not ready for prime time. It’s overhyped, overpromised, and underdelivers in every way that matters. So, if you value your time, money & energy, stay far, far away. I opted to design my ads on Canva using their templates and bought Adsby instead. It was a way better route to go to accomplish the same thing.

nothing works well, and they are just out to get your money

I started using the service, was given 3 free days to try it. Ran a couple of tries and nothing worked well.

Then cancelled on the first day and they charged me 199usd for that.

Do not trust them or use them, it is a terrible service.

Impossible to cancel!

The ads are very low quality, totally irrelevant to the data you input and I have been trying to cancel the subscription now for over a week and it is IMPOSSIBLE.

I will not pay for a sub par service so I have emptied my account - they have no way to cancel and try upwards of 4 times a day to take payment.

Do not use Icon!
