I had two identity verification appointments scheduled through ID5 Certified Ltd. Both were cancelled without warning — most recently just minutes before the meeting was due to start.

What concerns me even more than the cancellations is the highly inappropriate conduct by one of the identity verification agents, George. During our previous interaction, he asked me a series of deeply personal questions that have absolutely no relevance to verifying my identity, including:
• Whether I was divorcing my wife;
• Where my wife is currently located;
• Why she would be transferring property to me while abroad — followed by comments implying that the situation was “suspicious.”

These questions were intrusive, inappropriate, and borderline offensive. I clarified that my wife and child are temporarily abroad due to our son’s autism and school holidays, and that I remain in the UK due to work. Nevertheless, the agent persisted with questions that had nothing to do with ID verification.

From a legal and ethical perspective, this raises serious red flags. Identity checks should adhere strictly to GDPR and UK regulatory standards — namely data minimisation and purpose limitation. A verification agent should never use their position to interrogate clients about personal matters.

Despite having rebooked, my appointment was again cancelled without explanation. At this point, I seriously question the reliability and professionalism of this company.

If this behaviour is not addressed, I will not hesitate to escalate complaints to data protection authorities and consumer watchdogs. I strongly encourage ID5 to review their procedures, retrain their personnel, and ensure identity checks are conducted lawfully and respectfully.

Very smooth, every step explained well and the necessary ID verification for Land Registry provided incredibly fast for a very reasonable price - already recommended this service to other folk, would most certainly use again. Excellent.

Found ID5 online offering an incredibly cost effective way of getting the ID1 form complete. Gareth was very efficient and friendly, walked us through the process which was quick and easy. The paperwork arrived within two days as we had a late evening appointment. Would definitely recommend their services.

This is an excellent service and so economical. The cheapest quote from local solicitors was £150 plus VAT. It's easy to book the appointment, which takes around 10 to 15 minutes. I spoke with George, who explained things very well. I received my documents the next day, as promised. It's worth paying the extra £10 for next-day delivery. I will definitely use this service again if needed and would recommend to others.

Needed ID verification found this service on search engine and how lucky was I!! Gareth was super friendly and efficient and managed to do my ID and my two brothers in less than 30 mins and all forms received back to me within a few days. Very efficient service, would def recommend.

This is a very helpful service. One thing I would point out to people is that they need the latest annual mortgage statement as one part of verification documents. If you don’t have it or can’t obtain it then you might not be able to use this service. Gareth was helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and emails promptly which I really appreciated as I have been under time pressure to get my documents sorted and sent. The price is very reasonable as some of the local solicitors quoted me £400 for this.The documents were sent promptly and delayed by Royal Mail (typical) but I received everything today and really happy. I’d happily recommend these guys, they are legit and will actually get this sorted for you. Thanks!

This is an excellent service - very easy to book an appointment and the items you need to make the cerification call go smoothly are clearly stated. George was friendly and efficient; the app via which you upload the address verifications was easy to use too. The signed ID paperwork arrived the next day. I will 100% use this service again and thoroughyl recommend it!
