Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 40 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the products, particularly the boilers, citing frequent breakdowns, constant faults, and a lack of reliability even with relatively new units. People also reported negative experiences with the customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, especially when trying to schedule repairs or address warranty claims. The warranty process itself was a major point of contention, with many customers reporting difficulties in getting guarantees honored, often leading to them paying for repairs out of pocket. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the company. Some reviewers praised the staff for providing great customer service and ensuring their satisfaction with the work. A few other people also felt that the engineers were helpful when problems arose, and some even described the company as first-class to deal with.

Our brand new boiler has broken down…

Our brand new boiler has broken down and Ideal is only sending someone out in 4 days time to take a look! It is -3c outside and I have explained that we are a single parent household with a young child and I have chronic illness and really am struggling with the cold. I have absolutely no means to get alternate help and have no family to turn to.

Left Disabled 80 year old man in cold

Left Disabled 80 year old man in cold! My fathers 1 year old boiler would not ignite for central heating after 1st years service. I contacted the installer everwarm to whom had just allegedly serviced the boiler. They waved their hands of any responsibility and advised that it is now ideal boilers responsibility. I called ideal boilers and advised of the boiler code L2. The foreign adviser advised that she will send transco. I contacted the boiler suppliers William Wilson who were very helpful and sent a heating engineer. The heating engineer advised of the heat exchanger being faulty as badly clogged and that the condenser was blocked and leaking water into the electrics! After geting my elderly father warm again with no thanks to ideal (rawdeal) or everwarm (eversquirm) we now have a nice bill for a year old faulty boiler. Ideal advise that it is in their small writing that they are not responsible for the costs as we acquired an engineer??! We clearly called them for an engineer and they sent Transco. Very adequate and convenient on their part! Does anybody take responsibility for their junk or do they just try pass the buck to an emergency service! After they set their trip wire for liability refusal they now refuse to pay the costs of the repair engineer and offer to send my disabled father the parts that were used for the repair! Is he supposed to frame these on his mantlepiece? Absolute joke of a company! Complete Charlatans in their underhanded warranty response! I would not recommend these chocolate boilers to anyone as to leaving vulnerable customers in the cold.

Absolute rubbish - AVOID!

Absolute rubbish! Avoid at all costs! We've had our Ideal boiler for around 4 years and needed various repairs. Yesterday we had no hot water. Called up Ideal this morning to be told that they can only send someone out on 2nd December!! So, a house with 3 kids and we need to wait for 3 weeks before we can get our hot water back. Customer service not fit for purpose. How the hell is a family of 5 supposed to do without hot water for 3 weeks? In the middle of winter? Avoid, avoid, avoid this company - absolute cowboys and a complete joke!!

Unhappy sole trader

I'm a sole trader who fits, maintains and repairs boilers I have spent an hour and a half trying to sort a warranty for my customer, spoke to 4 different ideal customer support people who do nothing. I am max accredited so when fitting an ideal vogue my customer should have a 12 year warranty. They gave me 10 years. Someone called charlie left me a message to say it needs a filter fitting, it's got one it's a vogue max it comes with the boiler. This boiler had a faulty circuit board fuse so I had to register it over the phone to arrange for an engineer visit 2 days later. I went and got a fuse, changed it, commissioned the boiler didn't want my customer waiting. But now I can't seem to get any help from customer services despite being cut off twice and told to ring three different numbers. Dealing with ideal when anything goes wrong is a nightmare. I wish they'd get there act together, appalling customer service. Baxi on the other hand are so helpful.

Stay clear

Stay clear. Unreliable boiler. 2 year old warranty expired and now a new fan required.
During warranty a new gas valve and PCB fitted. Shows how reliable this manufacturer is. Cheap and nasty. Now I know why the warranty was 2 years because it's crap, it's a money pit to repair.
So be warned stay clear.

Boiler failed after two and a half years

Two and a half years after new install of Ideal Logic H24 boiler it went dead. Only two year warranty provided so Ideal refused to provide the expensive PCB (primary Circuit Board) replacement. The 10 year warranty is only for some models, check the small print and go with another manufacturer. DO NOT BUY THIS BOILER!

Disappointing Service and Unjustified Charge

I contacted Ideal Boilers to inquire about a potential boiler service. However, I did not confirm a specific date or time for the service and ultimately decided against it. To my surprise, the company proceeded to charge my card £125. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue over the past few weeks, I have yet to receive a refund. It's incredibly frustrating to be charged for a service that was neither scheduled nor provided. I strongly advise exercising caution when dealing with Ideal Boilers, as their billing practices seem questionable.

Warranty Claim

After reading the other reviews here was concerned about what I would experience. Boiler was fitted three years ago and recently started to have an issue with hot water demand and decided to claim on 12 year warranty. Called on a Sunday morning, answered within a minute or so and an appointment booked for the Thursday. The plumber called Thursday morning and arrived when stated. Boiler fixed in half an hour. Cannot fault the service. Not sure why all the other negative reviews?

3 "No Shows" For Boiler Service,

3 "No Shows" For Boiler Service,. The First Booking was Tuesday 10/09/2024. Cancelled - Booked Holidays The Second Booking was Wednesday 25/09/2024 Cancelled - Sickness. The Third Booking was Friday 04/10/2024 - A No Show. This is a real disapointment as the Boiler was An Ideal Boiler and the Previous Services carried out By a very Skilled & Competent Boiler Fitter called James with No Complaints,. This Year was a Complete "Disaster" Customer Care were to Blame Totally,. It has "Shattered" our Confidence in Ideal Boilers,. They Need to Do Much Better, and try and regain the confidence of Customers,. I was "Shocked" to read So Many Negative Reviews on Trustpilot,.

Truly appalling

Truly appalling! We’ve just been fobbed off for the second time , having booked a slot for a service over a month ago. The first time the engineer was sick apparently and today ( second attempt ) there’s a gas leak somewhere which he can’t leave . Do they only have the one person who goes out and does all the services and repairs ?! We’ve now got to wait another week before we can get a third attempt . Next time we are going to get our boiler serviced by someone else , we will never use Ideal Boiler Services again !!

Very disappointing response to problems

My 90 year old mother has had an Ideal boiler (or Ordeal boiler as we now call it) fitted as part of the government scheme. It was fitted on 3rd July and has broken down four times in the last month. She is currently having to wait a week with no hot water or heating for a ‘lead engineer’ to come out. I am repeatedly promised that this has been escalated and I will get a phone call but nothing happens. Would definitely NOT recommend.

Disappointed

Contacted Ideal Boilers for a problem with my Logic +30 Combi Boiler keeps losing water pressure and I was frequently needing to top up, I agreed to the £345 call out and fix fee with a return if no fault found or fixed.
You've guessed it they turned up did a couple of boiler checks and concluded the boiler was fine, no fault found even though the same fault is present so basically £345 for no fix and no advice given as to what I should do. I don't expect a full refund but as a gesture fir solving nothing I thought they would have offered something.
Very disappointed

I've installed many brands and this is the worst

I've installed many brands. None have given me as much trouble for a simple replacement as this one has. I am not fully understanding why after wires are removed, it stayed on as if the thermostat was calling for heat. I've never been this embarrassed at a client's multi million dollar home. Being asked if I knew what I was doing. Am I certified to be in the trade. Why isn't this working?

I am not sure why I listened to the salesman that pushed for this. I should've studied before I installed this.

I've never seen the TT wire being removed and have the boiler come on saying DHW demand...DHW was not even a part of this install. It doesn't exist... No wires going to it, but it's turning on this boiler..I stayed here for 3 extra hours chasing wires to make sure we didn't mess it up wiring it.

I am so upset at this garbage, I am going to cuss the salesman out and write a letter to his company and warn them about all the extra parts I need to buy when other boiler makers include all the material.

Not cost effective to install this because you need to buy many more parts, problem before it was even turned over to client, overall this boiler is the worst.

By far.

Awful boiler, do not buy

Awful boiler, breaks down all the time and the company did not honour warranty because we only had an invoice from the builder but not the builder’s invoice from the wholesaler.
