I helped my mum open an account on a fintech application last week and was dreading the identity verification part because she's not exactly tech-savvy. But the instructions were dead simple point camera at ID, hold still, now look at the front camera and turn your head. She did it on her own without asking me a single question, verified in under two minutes.
I wear glasses and have a beard
I wear glasses and have a beard, and I swear every identity check I've done in the last two years has asked me to remove my glasses, retake the photo because of glare, or told me - my face didn't match. This one just worked. Glasses on, normal lighting, one take. Approved in what felt like thirty seconds. That alone makes it the best verification experience I've had.
My girlfriend thought I was still…
My girlfriend thought I was still Scrolling, not doing KYC. Opened the APP, took a picture of my ID card, did the selfie with a couple of head turns, and it approved me before I could explain to her what I was doing. The whole thing felt like unlocking my phone with Face ID just a natural, quick step instead of some bureaucratic process.
Bad experience as a user of their identity verification
As a user using their Identity verification through another service. I uploaded the required document photo and the selfie, yet they kept finding discrepancies even when human manual review was requested. They never told me what the issue was, if the photo was incorrect or the document photo was wrong so I could fix it and get it verified. When you have a human doing identity verification, the times that should fail should be minimal for cases where it actually is the same person.
We're in iGaming
We're in iGaming, so regulators don't give second chances. What sold us on iDenfy was that the verification flow actually covers what the Gambling Commission expects age checks, document verification, liveness, and source-of-funds screening all in one session. We used to build custom workflows to stitch those steps together. Now it's a single API call, and the player is verified before they place their first bet.
Our previous provider rejected too many…
Our previous provider rejected too many legitimate users, especially from markets outside Western Europe. We'd get support tickets from real people who couldn't get past KYC, and by the time we manually approved them, half had already gone to a competitor. Since switching to iDenfy, approval rates on first attempt went up noticeably, and the complaints about verification being "broken" have basically stopped.
Verification accuracy is the best we've…
Verification accuracy is the best we've tested especially on African and South Asian documents, which our previous provider struggled with badly. The liveness check feels natural to users and we barely get complaints about it anymore. My one gripe is that the white-label options for the verification screen could be a bit more flexible. We'd like more control over fonts and button styles.
Any identity verification tool works…
Any identity verification tool works fine when the documents are clean and the selfie is well-lit. What impressed us was how iDenfy handles the messy cases of expired temporary IDs, low-resolution scans from older phones, and documents in non latin scripts. Those used to pile up in our manual review queue. Now the AI + human review catches most of them without our team getting involved at all.
We're a high volume platform and…
We're a high volume platform and roughly 15-20% of our verification attempts are fraud attempts that fail immediately, like deepfakes, stolen documents, repeat offenders. With our old provider, we were paying for every single one of those failed attempts, iDenfy only charges for successful verifications, which cuts our monthly verification bill by about a third. Sounds like a small pricing difference, but at our volume, it's tens of thousands per quarter.

Genuinely the smoothest KYC I've ever gone through.
Excellent
Our developers actually liked the integration. That never happens. Usually our engineering team dreads new vendor integrations because the docs are outdated and the sandbox doesn't match production. Idenfy's API documentation was accurate, the webhook payloads matched what the docs said they would, and the sandbox behaved like the real thing. Our lead dev had a working prototype in two days...
Saved a lot of time for us
Before iDenfy, our KYC flow took an average of 2 days because everything routed through a manual review team. After we switched, 87% of verifications complete in under 90 seconds, and the edge cases still get a human review, just without making everyone else wait. Integration took our backend team about a week.
Signing up for the platform was…
Signing up for the platform was actually harder than getting verified.Scanned my ID card, took one selfie, and that was it. Got approved within a couple of minutes. No uploading utility bills, no waiting days for a human to check it which is how this used to work a few years ago and I hated it.
One of the worst Ai identity…
One of the worst Ai identity verification tool, it won’t match your face with your id’s ever, it will keep on rejecting.
The reps are rude
The reps are rude. Features you buy don't show up until you ask them to activate them. Constant back and forth with tech support. If you want something that just works, this isn't it.
I literally subscribed to this tool…
I literally subscribed to this tool yesterday after running through the free trial. The free trial was great. However, from the first moment I generated a code, none of my users have been able to get the SMS verification code. We tried two different users in two different countries plus myself. I contacted support yesterday and today during their support hours. Their stupid robot says that the team is unavailable and opened a support ticket for me. Of course, immediately after the robot said the team is not available, it said, "I'm connecting you with a teammate now." And then the next message was "Our team is not available right now." Very, very confusing customer experience.
I'm going to cancel my account because you can't just have no support available when people are trying to conduct business, and your tool is blocking them. And then nod off to support those people when they need it during the business hours that you state that you're available.
Really inconvenient
The site sucks to use. My VPS provider asked me to verify using idenfy. What I wasn't prepared for is:
a. I tried using my desktop computer first. I don't have a webcam and they REQUIRE taking fresh pics instead of uploading them.
b. When I scanned the QR code and opened it on mobile, they told me my browser is not supported. I use firefox for android.
c. When I opened the same link in chrome, taking a picture of my passport was a nightmare. It seems that they expect me to USE A FRONTAL CAMERA to snap a picture of a document. HOW? The rear camera was mirrored in such a way that lining up a shot was incredibly difficult.
