Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North West of Italy, not far from Turin.
The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials.
Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one.

I am an avid walking sticks/canes collector (and user). Over the years I bought many sticks/canes from USA,
Ukraine, Ireland China, Taiwan, France and Italy. Without hesitation, I can say that ilMarchesato's stuff is the best worldwide and is delivered unusually fast.
Excellent work! My only regret is that I learned about ilMarchesato only recently.

Perfect poppy parasol
I ordered a beautiful parasol/umbrella just under 2 weeks ago to Australia. I added embroidery of my initials. I received the carefully packaged umbrella today. This was a very fast delivery time. The parasol is really exceptionally well constructed and the fabric is lovely. I ordered the red outer /upper canopy colour with the black background with red poppies underneath. I will use it for any ADF parades and will "wear it with pride". I will certainly order from this company again. The monogram is perfect and carefully finished in black thread on the red canopy.
