Horrible
I stayed in this hospital in benidorm for five days after breaking three ribs the treatment I received was awful I still have num fingers after a nurse put a cannula near my little finger and I have now been home for four months doctor says they must have damaged the nerve they are all about the money told me I could not fly because I had fluid on my lung that was not true they just wanted to get more money from my insurance
DONT GO HERE !
DONT GO HERE !! SCAMM!
My sister got spicked , she has travel insurance, first of all they were nasty to here , ripping out her needles out her arm , didn’t listen to her , didn’t even give her water , they said they can’t do anything about it if she got spicked , didn’t believe her , They then didn’t let her leave until she payed £990 euros out of her own cash , with security around her making her feel even more upset , THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE !!! !! draining money out of people
Careless!
My dad had bad fall the other day and cracked his head open and was told by ambulance staff the maximum we would have to pay for simple stitches was 200 euro - not a problem. I then got to the hospital and was told his needed this that and the other which I never consented to for anything and my father certainly cannot as he has dementia. They´re now telling me its going to be nearly 800 total. It all seemed like a set up scam/system that has been put in place to drain money out of people rather than care! look after yourself and avoid getting taken here.
OH could of died
Does anyone have any contact details to complain to. I have left a written complaint with both IMED Levante and Benidorm Council. Not heard a thing. Won't send out documents or add to app account of events when husband was rushed in. He was left for two days with a collapsed lung, internal bleed and six broken ribs. Were told he had a gastric infection! Because they didn't drain him straight away he was left with fluid on his lung. Took us over six weeks in Benidorm before insurance would consider flying him home. Needed several blood and iron transfusions because of loss of blood. Left on ward with no supervision and fell three times in his small room. Eventually, taken to ICU when demanded results of scan on third day after admission. Admin staff ignoring requests to send missing medical notes for first three days. Never stepping into this money making so called hospital again. Beware
Nurses don’t give a damn about basic…
Nurses don’t give a damn about basic post operative care. Blood pressure and temperature taken once 30 mins after being back on ward at 12:30pm then no other care throughout the rest of the day and night and no checking the intravenous drips we’re delivering appropriately. Now 8am next day and I wait to see nurse or doctor doing rounds and hopefully get some appropriate nursing attention. Because my husband stayed with me he ensured they came to give me an injection for additional pain relief. Nurses all in the staff rest room (near to my room) talking loudly like at a party and none showing any presence on the ward for patient care. In an emergency I would not feel safe and trust they are mature enough to respond correctly and I was so pleased my husband stayed with me. 6500 pesos and no nursing care at Elche Imed - just Myoma surgery.
Excellent inTorrevieja
Excellent service, reasonably priced, lovely staff.
I had bloods, ultrasound done and saw a lovely lady doctor.
English speaking, helpful all round.
Utterly despicable do not go there .
The worst experience of my life 😪
The worst experience of my life 😪
Please avoid this hospital at all cost 🙏 I was treated with no dignity or respect. 8 and a half hour surgery that should have taken 3hrs. I was left in pain and dirty, blood stained sheets, no before or after care. Complications during surgery which has been covered up...
I was in pain, scared and confused.
Absolutely disgraceful 😤 😞
Money, money, money
I arrived before 9a.m. at the Imed Levante, no wheelchair available at reception had to walk on injured foot. Treatment and staff in urgent dept. all ok. Admitted to hospital, taken to room on ward and told a nurse would come and see me. Over 2 hours before a nurse appeared, but before that a man in a suit came in demanding 1000€ payment, even though I showed him proof that a file had been opened with the insurance company, intimidating and harassing to someone in bed and in pain. Said he would be returning in 2 hours for payment, which he did and I had to pay.
After being in the hospital 6 or 7 hours I was eventually given pain relief.
On discharge I was sold a pair of crutches for 214€
I later discovered that I should only have been charged 25€ I wrote several emails, which IMED refused to answer. Only by going to IMED did I eventually receive a refund.
I was given a report and told to take it to a pharmacy to purchase the medication, I asked if I needed a prescription I was told no, by the consultant doctor, a nurse and reception, they all said I just needed the report. But we discovered that the pharmacy would not give the paracetamol without a prescription.
I had to self inject an anticoagulant medication,
no instructions given on how to self inject.
Some of the staff who could speak English were calling me ‘lady’ this is not appropriate, not used in English and is somewhat offensive. They should be told to use either Mrs and surname, or madam. I am surprised that with English people employed there, this hasn’t been corrected.
Traumatised is the only word I can…
Traumatised is the only word I can describe about my stay in imed levante. I have just flown back from this disgraceful, uncaring hospital.
Admitted with abdominal pain , couldn't walk stand or sit hardly . 3 hours of form filling before seeing a doctor , in agony .
Diagnosed perforated intestine, & large cyst on ovary , life threatening, admitted & told operation would be next day. Staff uncaring , doctors no time to explain , no interpreter, just left & took to ward . Nurses rude, rough when handling you . The leval of care disgraceful. Saw no doctor regarding op next day . So literally crawled out of bed to find nurse . Demanded to see a doctor, & what time surgery was . To be screamed at that no surgery or doctors on a Sunday. I had to be very firm & insisted I see a doctor . Threatened to transfer to another hospital. Was shouted & screamed at & was in tears but stood my ground . Within half hour a doctor came , threw consent forms at me to sign, & was taken down for surgery.horrific !!
Woke up in ITU . . Very little care or thought , was bed batthed with no privacy, glass windows & doors , worken outside looking in. No dignity whatsoever. Was put back on ward after a day& half . Shared room . They put the buzzer where I couldn't reach it . Left in pain after asking for pain relief twice. 3 hours vefore I got it . Rough handling , no smile , no communication, food not fit for a dog . Literally ripping my dressings off when changing them , when I complained was told to shut up . Unbelievable lack of compassion.
Never took my blood pressure apart from once . The whole experience has left me having panic attacks . Saw an interpreter 3 days in who was actually able to explain & let me know exactly what I had had done . .I could go on & on but please please avoid this hospital .money hungry uncaring individuals, it should be closed , thank god I'm home alive . Hope this helps anyone's decision about staying there . AVOID AVOID !!!
Horrible experience!
It was a horrible, almost traumatic stay in IMED Valencia. Medical care far below average, nurses completely indifferent and careless. Doctors hardly had any time and didn’t listen properly. The only one who ever showed some empathic sense, was the cleaning lady.
The intravenous line in my arm was blocked for a whole night, which left me with a terrible headache. According to the nurse this was because I hadn’t held my arm stretched during the night, but two hours later it turned out that the line had been accidentally blocked by the nurse the night before. They hardly controlled or looked after you. They gave me NOLOTIL by infusion although I told them that it made me feel worse. Only after my husband found out that it should not be given to patients from North Europe and patients with immune problems like me, they agreed to stop it. These are only examples, I could go on like this for a while.
The food was disgusting and one time they even forgot to bring breakfast.
This hospital seems mainly interested in moneymaking. Better avoid it!!
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I made an appointment on the phone for an X-ray. IMED charged me €98 for an unrequested consultation instead. And just try asking for their complaints procedure... No wonder they score so low on this site.
Disgusting hospita
Disgusting hospita
Money making
Horrid staff
Had terrible experience
Even told me they dont take our travel insurance
Please avoid this hospital
A real horrible hospital
A real horrible hospital. Doctors are ok and understand their profession. But what a horrible nurses! They honestly do not know how to take care of a patient or client. This hospital must come to an end. Please close this money sucker hospital in Benidorm.
Bad bad hospital!!!
Horrific nursing for people in need of care and attention. They ignore patients and their family, no communication, rudeness, no nursing skills - they let people die without a care in the world. As long as they get money and can steal your jewellery as what happened to my sister, they are happy. It is disgusting how they DO NOT look after dying patients. My sister could not talk or swallow anymore because they let her mouth dried out. This hospital should be closed!!!
paid a fortune for a covid test
paid a fortune for a covid test, went to airport and told it was filled out wrong by the hospital and i couldnt use it. tried to peak to them and they gave me the runaround leaving me to potentially miss my flight. luckily i managed to do a test at the airport having to spend more money. never got a refund and trying to contact them about it is impossible.
A very very poor hospital
Earlier this year I had to have a resection of my bowel. After coming around in an equipment room I found a buzzer in my hand that didn't work . Over night I tried shouting screaming but no body came it was a cleaner that found in the morning that in a lot of pain and very cold I saw nobody over night. The facilities were very poor no internet, TV was 2 news channels. I was told by the head nurse I would have a better room to make up for being left overnight but it never happened.. The whole experience has scared my for which I still have night mares
Disgusting and potentially life threatening treatment
My husband was prescribed NOLOTIL which I was told by my sister who was with us should not be prescribed to Northern Europeans because it can cause death! This is well known throughout Spain and has been ordered through the government that it should not be prescribed. Unfortunately by the time we found out he had already been given an injection. He was also prescribed an antibiotic which should not be used except when there is no alternative and he has had a serious reaction which has resulted in damage to the Achilles’ tendons in both ankles. We asked for the Hoja de Reclamation form at the hospital and were directed to the complaints form on their own website and as yet have had no response despite following up with several phone calls. We will not let this rest until we have some answers.
Innleggelse IMED:
Innleggelse IMED:
Admission IMED:
Arrived at IMED hospital 09.03 at 13.00. Was quickly received at the reception and forwarded for consultation with a doctor, everything went very well, came to the emergency room and a number of samples were taken and CT examination and diagnosis determined. Should be moved from the emergency room to the ward approx. at 17.00, but due to poor communication from IMED with my insurance company regarding waiting for confirmation that the insurance paid for me, I came to the department at. 11.15 in the evening. Then I had been in the emergency room and crying due to great pain, but no one bothered to look after me. When the door to my room was opened, it smelled of mold against me, but did not get another room, was very ill and fought for 2 days to get a new room. The doctor had prescribed stronger painkillers than paracetamol, the nurse came with paracetamol and said one minute and we will come with the medicine, it could take up to 1 1/2 to 2 hours before I got painkillers. Many nurses spoke only Spanish, and no one bothered to ask me how I was doing, I felt I had to fight for myself all the time, which was terribly stressful, and took my night's sleep. The only positive thing I can say about IMED is that the doctors are skilled, otherwise a traumatic stay. IMED is a large medicine chain, and for me who comes from Scandinavia, I think it is incredible that such a large hospital does not have access to TV, and no internet connection. Will never return.
Phoned for appointment, after arrival told no appointment.
Phoned for an appointment with Spine specialist, called at 10.15 in the morning and offered an appointment at 12 .15 (as I found out later, with one of the most rude, ignorant and mannerless individuals you could ever wish not to meet)
This gave me 2 hours to get to the hospital which normally takes a little more than 2 1/4 hours. Promised an email with details of where and who, nothing arrived.
Drove like madman and arrived 12.00. Reception knew nothing f this so phoned the hospital booking service. Confirmed there was an appointment and they would send another mail with details, checked they had he correct mail address, nothing arrived. Now getting close to the consultation time, phoned the hospital booking office yet again and told they would send e-mail, kept the phone open and gave to the receptionist to sort out and after the phone call was sent to room 32 and arrived at 12.16. Like many others, sat down and waited as instructed. Patients going in and out, some arrived 30 minutes after we had.
After waiting for 55 minutes, asked the doctor when I was to go in for consultation,
He starts to rant in Spanish, and when I ask him if he speaks English, another verbal mouthful and "ushered out of the way for the next patient.
The cream of the pudding came at 4.25 this afternoon, a message from the hospital booking office informing me that if I was not there on time the consultation would be cancelled.
This so called private hospital is incompetent and staffed by individuals that have little or no manners, and need a training course on how to talk to paying patients, or indeed any other person.
