Unprompted review
Sold me an item that was out of stock.
Sold me an item that was out of stock.
Apologised and offered an opened and part painted one with a discount, which I accepted.
Failed to deliver the part painted item.
Ignored my e-mail asking for an update.
Gave me a full refund with no explanation.
Will not use this company again.
UPDATE: After leaving my 1 star review they contacted me to try and resolve the issue. They admitted that they received, but missed, my e-mail saying that I would accept the part painted item as a replacement.
They also have provided proof that one of their initial e-mails was sent but never reached me, though this was practically a copy of the inital comms, which I had already replied to. No e-mail was sent regarding the refund.
I have since aquired the limited item I wanted through eBay at a much higher cost, so there is nothing further this company can do with this transaction.
UPDATE: the company response below is months after the event, and delightfully colours me as angry, which I was not. Very unsatisfied, yes, but not angry.
And it is not “obscene” for someone to ask for proof of communications, otherwise you could simply be lying.
Was very unlikely to use this company again, but now it’s a certainty that I won’t.

We appologies that our customer care didn't meet expectations on this occasion. For us this is a story of two sides, emails were not being received by this customer, which was out of our control. We did contact them about the item being out of stock and the refund we issued, both via separate Shopify messages and a PayPal note on the refund.
The customer then demanded evidence these messages were sent, which is an very unusual thing for a company to provide, would Game or CEX do this, no, but we did it regardless... (Lying is not one of our business policies when dealing with order issues).
Then going beyond, what any other company would do; we suggested a personalised alternative, sourcing a replacement from our local model painter (it was a rare, limited edition, hard-to-find Masters of the Universe Fields Eternia figure), this sadly took time, while the customer got more, impatient, frustrated, and seemed angry in their communications. The lesson we learned for us, is sometimes you can't please everyone and it would've created less stress if we refunded the buyer immediately. Stating the item was out of stock, sadly these things do happen.
There was much more we could've offered to soothe this buyer e.g. provide a free Orko figure, but by this time he had refused to be cooperative.
We left replying to this review for some time in the hope not to provoke tthem further.

This order was placed Christmas Day, it was missed by our fulfilment partner and fulfilled later in Jan after the mistake was resolved, we presumed it had been fulfilled in the early part of Jan. Communication on our part was good explaining this to the customer, once the problem was understood. No charge back was made, no refund needed, customer received their order, making the majority of this review untrue.
