We at Inking Abroad run immersive adventures over several days in the most fascinating cities in the world, to help you reinvigorate your creativity. People are craving real-life in-person experiences more and more, packed with meaning, authenticity and connection. Inking Abroad retreats are ideal for creative professionals - anyone who needs to communicate and persuade as part of their job - and wants to make more impact in their work, but feels creatively frustrated, or a bit stuck. Inking Abroad is run by us, Ben Crothers and Axelle Vanquaillie, both highly-experienced visual practitioners and in demand for our creative consultation and training. We're passionate about travel, creativity, and visual storytelling, so we combine the best of everything we have to offer with the best each city has to offer. The result is an unforgettable journey of rejuvenation with like-minded travellers. Our retreats are in Florence (Italy) and Berlin (Germany), and we'll be adding Catalonia (Spain) soon. At each retreat you get a healthy mix of in-depth training in creativity and visual storytelling, personal development exploration and coaching, plenty of walking, discovery and sketching, a museum visit, and of course a bit of wining and dining too! Why visual storytelling? Because we all can't help but connect through stories; with ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us... Whether it's crafting your own story, or translating tricky complex business information into a winning narrative, knowing how to wield images in communication is beneficial for all areas of work and life. People who join our retreats range from illustrators to trainers, managers and consultants to graphic recorders. And the good news is that you don't need to be good at drawing. Any drawing ability is perfectly fine. It's never about performance, but it's all about having an open mind, and learning from one another. If this excites you, we'd love you to come along to one (or more!) of our retreats, to be part of our community, and push your storytelling craft like never before.
