I bought an Inogen5 in January. In early July, not sure of the exact date, it stopped working. Since I need oxygen any time I exert myself, until it was repaired I was pretty much confined to my home or limited activity if I ventured out. I was sold the unit by Pure Medical, a distributor for Inogen. They had a very fine representative that did everything he could to get my unit fixed and back to me as soon as possible. He said he even paid to have the service expedited. I asked if Inogen could supply a loaner while the unit was being repaired and was told Inogen doesn’t do that. Long story short, even with expedited repair service, I finally had it back in my hands on August 20th. That’s a long time to go not being able to breathe but Inogen is callus concerning the needs of its clients. "You bought it, the sale is complete, you’re on your own."

It is so much easier to use the Inogen than those bulky tanks. I don't go out often but its easy to just push a button and have air. Thank you.

It works. It is a bit clumsy with a chunky design. The outfield line needs a better design to eliminate pinching.

My mother in law purchased a unit outright because insurance wouldn’t cover it, approximately $3700. Unfortunately she passed after having and using the unit for less than 6 months. We called the Inogen Customer Service Center and as usual, over 1 hour wait to talk to a person wi th very broken English. We asked about a buy back program or able to transfer the warranty to a new owner of the 6 month old concentrator. His reply was that they DO NOT buy back any equipment and that the warranty was NOT transferable to a new owner of the unit. So buyer beware, if you own one of their concentrators for 1 day or 1 year, you own it with no warranty if the client passes away. For the price of this equipment the warranty, whether 1 year or an extended warranty should be transferable to a new owner of the equipment and NOT have the family of the lost member be stuck with the equipment without a transferable warranty to a new owner. Very disappointing that they take advantage of people that need this product. Had we needed to do this again, never happen. Buyer beware.

WAY overpriced, noisy (I've had access to others much more quieter in the past), and the app proves it's easier to get to their online store with it than getting anything useful for the user out of it. 3 security checks just to read the concentrator's 2 setting on the back of my wheelchair?? And that's all that you can accomplish with it. Good luck getting even that if there's no wifi or a 120v outlet or your cell-service has gone down. Buy Imogen again? Not even if my life depended on it.

It’s very convenient but runs out after 2-2 1/2 hours and is very heavy

As always, the Inogen employees were extremely helpful and supportive. True professionals, who know their products. I bought the Voxi 5 because it was advertised as a very quiet home concentrator and as it’s in my bedroom, it needs to be. It definitely is as advertised!

I didn’t realize how wonderful it is to be able to breathe when I’m going for a walk or just the simplest things at home. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the Inogen

From start to finish was a wonderful experience. CJ walked me through everything. My Inogen makes life possible again.

The In Inogen case is unbalanced , keeps falling over, have to prop it up. Bought new case which works fine
The screen has an anomaly which shows a honeycomb, bur can work around that.
Otherwise the oxygen is fine

The Inogen rep was very helpful in helping me identify my particular O2 needs and suggesting the best Oxygen Concentrator for me. He facilitated contacting my personal Physician for a prescription and just made the entire process easy ! I like that there was phone f/u after I got my machine. It is all they said it would be..it is compact, easy to operate, easy to carry with a choice between a shoulder strap or a hand held strap. Changing O2 flows is easy and fast and it recharges fast. The only problem I have identified is that it comes with 2 chargers, one for home use and one for the car that plugs into the cigarette port. Unfortunately some of the newer model cars do not come equipped with a cigarette port. I was surprised it didn’t come with a USB port for these particularly newer cars. ( I am not allowed to drive yet and have to rely on others for rides to appointments etc and the ability to charge my concentrator has provided a challenge). Thank you for your product it Definately provides me with freedom I would not have without it.

When I called inogen, Michelle was the representative that helped me. She walked me through everything that needed to be done to purchase the oxygen. My insurance wouldn't cover it, but my doctor referred me to the company to purchase. Michelle spent all the time that was needed to do so.she got the doctors signature, got the finance company, set up with options. She spent 2 days with me to be able to purchase my portable oxygen. Michelle is a A+ representative for inogen. I appreciate the kindness and concern she showed me. Thank you very much

Update 8/12/25 - This evening a supervisor honored my experience with Inogen by providing and shipping new columns free of charge. I am now aware that the columns are a filtering device and need to be replaced on about a yearly basis. The lifetime warranty only applies to the unit itself and the columns are not part of that unit. The rest of this review is true:
We have an Inogen compressor bought in 2019 with a lifetime warranty - no repairs needed. We were not advised that we needed to replace the columns on a yearly basis, not then or any of the 3 times we had to return the compressor because it stopped working. We were accused of not returning items twice during this time period and billed for items we had returned. Most of you know that the batteries are excluded from the lifetime warranty, but just in case, know that batteries, columns and power cords, etc.are all excluded.

I’m renting a home unit, but I haven’t been upgraded to the newer, quieter unit

Overall I find the inogen to not live up to the TV advertisement with everyone saying it's easy. In actual use I find the Inogen bulky, heavy and inefficient. The battery does not last long enough for a trip to the food store and It's very HOT and louder than I want. The unit causes me stress.
