Inside Japan Tours are amazing. I could plan exactly where i wanted to visit with an extremely knowledgeable and helpful agent, and feel totally confident about all my tickets and instructions. Inside Japan Tours was recommended to us by friends who had used them for their first trip to Japan. They did a wonderful job organizing our trip and we can’t praise them enough. Everything was taken care of and we had a fabulous trip: hotels, guides, cars and drivers, hard to get restaurant reservations, in country support. The agent who organized our trip was just excellent and she did an outstanding job.

Antonio was an excellent guide and made our first experience in Japan exceptional.

Locations, Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and Kanazawa.

Tokyo hotel location was excellent very close to Senso-Ji temple. The Sanja Festival took place whilst we were in Asakusa which meant roads were closed for parades and the area was very busy. However we really enjoyed the parades and were so glad we were there to see it.
It would have been very useful to have been made aware of the festival prior to our arrival as road closures impacted on how we left our hotel and got to the station for our transfer to Hakone.
Guides in Tokyo were excellent.
Hakone - The Hakone Freepass was such an excellent choice.
We used the train, ropeway, cable car and ship and had a wonderful time. We also had some fabulous views of Mount Fuji.
As older visitors we found the hotel location disappointing we felt a little stranded as transport was needed to go anywhere. We do like to be able to have a walk.
Kyoto- very busy and similar to Tokyo.
This was our least popular stop because it was so busy. Our guide was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent English.
Kanazawa - favourite stop.
Once again our guide was excellent.
We had a wonderful informative tour of Kenrokuen Castle and Kenrokuen gardens followed by a stop for some Matcha tea.
We loved everything about Kanazawa including the hotel and its location near the fish and food market.
Our last day was in Tokyo for an overnight stay prior to
Our flight home.
We were unhappy with the location of this hotel.
We were on floor 54 and whilst there were views of trains and skyscrapers, the hotel bedroom was very small and cramped.
The restaurant however is excellent.
There was nowhere to easily walk nor any local shops that were open which made our last day disappointing.
However, having said all of the above I would highly recommend a trip to Japan.
The people are warm, kind and helpful, the food is excellent and the culture is both traditional and fascinating.

This qas my 2nd trip to japan. Ms. Liu was great overall. The hotel, guides and all experience were fantastic. The guide from Tokyo took me to the hidden gems like odaiba, imperial palace garden, Tokyo station, and passed by shibuya. For Kamakura, the guide took me to the hasadera temple, great buddha, hydrengea walk, reserved a authetic hidden gem restaurant, and rode enoden line along the coast. For Nikko, the guide gave me a tour of the world heritage shrines. Plus the guides gave me suggestion for kawagoe and lake chuzenji. The hotels were good overall,but the Richmond asakusa was decent except a little bit of a walk from the subway. The Fairfield hotel in nikko had a shuttle or you can easily get a taxi from train station overall. The hotel staffs were all good. The mitsui ueno garden is convenient to subway station and the staff helped me get a taxi to kesei ueno skyliner express train station to narita airport to help me carry luggage. The ground staff helped me make proper arrangements when I had flight issues.

was the best holiday i have ever had. Cammy our tour leader was magnificent and everything was perfect. Her organisation and knowledge skills surpass excellent. I would recommend anyone to do this trip

This was a great first visit to the culture and geography of Japan. I hope to go again someday.

Attention to detail was great. Hotel were very good and were located perfectly for the areas we wished to visit. All of the places/hotels/tours that Inside Japan prepared for us were aware of my wife's Gluten Free needs and they accommodated us as best they were able.

The itinerary was perfect allowing us to experience an overview of city life in Japan and rural life also. The pre-tour service and information was excellent. The tour guide Neil, was excellent.

We had a customized itinerary for a 3 week visit to Japan, including 1 week in Hokkaido. The level of detail was truly amazing! The package had everything we needed - accomodations, guides, recommendations and all tickets for transportation. All the planning was done with the representative of InsideJapan.
The local guides were very knowledgeable and pleasant.

I have travelled with Inside Japan twice, and each time they have gone above and beyond to make the trips special for me and my family.

First we started the booking process in 2019, and world events stopped us from travelling for another few years. We ended up being able to put the money we had paid forward into our next trip in early 2024.

Next I took my sister for our birthdays in May 2026, and while we had one small hiccup with our internet packet being delivered to another location, they were very proactive in solving that issue and compensating us for the time it took to fix.

Overall, the staff have been lovely, they have amazing knowledge of the locations they send you to, and they are very prompt with their communication. I would highly recommend booking with them, whether you’re a first time traveller or experienced.

I recently returned from a solo trip arranged by Inside Japan and would highly recommend them. I spoke with my consultant, Bobbi several times and corresponded through email frequently, fine tuning what I was looking to experience and how much I wanted to spend. I couldn’t have asked for a more engaging, well planned and informative trip. Every detail was considered, the travel tickets and explanations were clear and help was always available in Japan, so I never truly felt alone. It was one of my most memorable and enjoyable trips thanks to Inside Japan. 5 stars isn’t enough!
