Emerson Insinkerator Power 900 purchased at Home Depot Sept 2023 - functioned well with "gentle use" for less than 90 days!
Then the motor blew out with a loud pop, smoke and burning odor.
We had our contractor install an InSinkErator PRO750-4 which came with a 1-year warranty. It started making weird loud noises after 6 months. InSinkErator has refused to honor the warranty. They made the contractor go through multiple hoops, send pictures of the unit, video of the sound, made him go back to verify a number of points related to the installation, told him they would send a tech to inspect it, then ask me the customer to contact them directly. When I contacted them they claimed they didn't have the information, which was a lie, the contractor had sent it to them, and they magically found it after I insisted they had it. But they made me go back through the same hoops. Finally they told me they would send someone over but threatened that if they deemed it functional, they would charge me for a service call. They simply hope that you give up after they wear you down.
Terrible company. Terrible product. Terrible service. Never again.
Update: managed to get support from Eliza who was very friendly and professional and it’s sorted now.
Don’t buy anything from this website which maybe fraud. I have just ordered a hot water steam tank online. The payment went though but no confirmation email for the order up to now (3 days). Tried to ring the customer support a few times and couldn’t reach anyone yet
Fabulous customer service, once you get through the caveats of contacting them. It was really hard to find a proper contact, however, after managing that, they covered warranty claim for me in a foreign country from a product bought on Amazon 4 years after purchase (originally it has 6 or 7, not sure, years). I was really unsure if they would cover the warranty, but they did. The local dealer that is authorized for their products charged me for repair. I contact Emerson and they refunded me full amount of the repair. Once i found emails they really do reply quickly. So if that part is done and they ease the process of finding who to email, things would be perfect.

Warranty issue, getting run around from company
I purchased and installed one of the most expensive model of InSinkErator's garbage disposal to avoid issue. Less than 2 year later, the disposal stop working completely. I contacted InSinkErator on 3/31 and they processed a replacement order (my item comes with 7 year warranty) and said I will receive it in 7-12 days, they also asked me to call back in 1-3 days to obtain a tracking numbers. I called to follow up with tracking number and none was given and item was not shipped.. after 12 days of not receiving the item, I called the company and they said I need to wait 12 business days.. but according to their system, item is not in stock and has not been shipped. I requested an escalation and told them that if they don't have the exact same item in stock, they need to send me a similar / better model that is available. They insist that I have to wait for 12 BUSINESS days before they could escalate the issue. It has now been 12 business days, and they still have not send or update me for my product replacement and simply emailing me telling me the product is out of stock and has no ETA.
There is a NON-VISIBLE, "knockout" plug built into the Insinkerator when you buy it.
The directions are MISLEADING, saying: "If connecting to a dishwasher..."
It SHOULD SAY "if there is ALREADY a dishwasher in your kitchen and it ( like most) drains to the garbage disposal (with without an air gap in that drain line), YOU MUST FIRST knock out a drain plug hidden in the disposal before you install it - so that your dishwasher be able to drain and work properly."
Dismal customer service. They don´t publish an email address. Their web contact requires you to enter enormous amounts of personal data AND agree to let them send you advertising. But most importantly, whichever way you contact them, they can´t/won´t provide basic information. All I wanted to know was the weight of a couple of their waste disposal units. (The actual weights not the shipping weights.) But: “That information is not available”. How so? Are you not the manufacturer? Please don´t bother with a vacuous: “We´re sorry – blah blah blah.” Or “Our customer service will be in contact” because we both know they won´t. Just publish (here and on your web site) the installed weight of each of your waste disposal units. That´s just seven numbers. Not too tricky??
Oh how I wish I had the same good experience as as others. I have been trying to order a replacement hot water tank for my tap. The website either doesn't respond at checkout or gives an error with a phone number that doesn't exist (800-558-5712) Yes I am on the UK site & that number looks like the US. If you do phone the UK customer service you get " Sorry George Tweed is not available... George has not been available for over a week and the website has been faulty for at least as long. This is not good enough!
Having had problems with my newly installed insinkerator I contacted them and Mr George Tweed was super helpful and organised a new filter to be sent out… so customer service very good.

This is a review of In Sink Erator, which seems to be part of Emerson now.
The In Sink Erator garbage disposal itself seems like a good product. I've had it for years.
I am upset about my experience trying to replace the drain stopper which apparently came with the garbage disposal. After quite a few years it wore out. I didn't know I had to order a new one from the company. It looks like something you could buy anywhere. I measured it and called drug stores, a hardware store and a plumbing supply store to try to get a replacement. The drugstores and Ace Hardware told me they had drain stoppers that would work. Ace was especially confident. Those didn't fit. I deal with mobility issues so this was cruel. Eventually I noticed "In Sink Erator" etched outside the border of the drain and figured out to go to the company.
Their website does not list a measurement for their replacement drain stopper. That seemed dysfunctional. I hope it will fit. The site says it will.
They are charging about $25 to $35 for a drain stopper. It seems like they made their drain opening incompatible with other drain stopper replacements? That's a rip. The price DOES include postage BUT they don't tell you that until later.
Their payment software is outdated and dysfunctional. It kept removing my apartment number. It seems like it will be printing my email address on my address label. It has this confusing screen that suggests you change your address to a variant of it, but you can't even understand what it is saying. It seems to be adding "US" to my address label. Why? That software has to go.
I wish the company would put stuff online that you might find warning you that you cannot buy a drain stopper replacement elsewhere. Try to use keywords the customer will use before they know this is related to In Sink Erator. Please tell the hardware and plumbing supply stores about this issue. And why not fix this going forward? It it worth antagonising customers for $20?
